Mary Bufalini, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Melchiore Bufalini, died, July 22, 2001 at St. Vincent s Medical Center following a long illness. Born in East Chester, N.Y., on July 18, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Michael Nardelli DiLeo. Mrs, Bufalini was a homemaker and a Bridgeport resident for most of her life. She worked as a press operator for the Bridgeport Metal Goods Co. before her retirement. Mrs. Bufalini is survived by her devoted daughters, Toni M. Mahigel and Elmina Gerogette and her husband Leonard, brothers; James, Jack and Daniel DiLen, all of New York., sisters; Theresa O"Brien and Ann DiLeo, both of New York, She is also survived by six grandchidren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Joseph Bufalini and 6 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place from the Spadaccino Community Funeral home, 135 Monroe Turnpike (RTE111), Monroe, Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 8:45 a.m., A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St, Andrew Checu, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport at 10 a,m., Entombment will be in the Garden Mausoleum of St Michael Cemetery, Stratford, Family and friends may call on Tuesday July 24, 2001 from 4 to 8 p.m., See www.legacy.com for more information.

Stephen J. Kozak, Jr., age 58, of Bridgeport, died on Saturday, July 21, 2001, at St. Vincentus Medical Center, Bridgeport, Born in Bridgeport to the late Stephen J. Kozak Sr., and Kathryn Paroskie Kazak, he was a lifelong city resident. He was a graduate of Bassick High School. Survivors included his beloved sister, Mary Riley of Billlings, Montana, fopur nehews; George, John, Patrick and Michael Riley; aunts and uncle Metro and Anna Paroskie of Bridgeport, and Threrea Skiba of Orlando, Florida; and serveral cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at a time to announced in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.,

ABROMAITIS
Julia Pronewicz Abromaitis, age 71, of 12 West Brookside Avenue, Ansonia, loving wife of the late William Abromaitis, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Connecticut Hospice. She was a trimmer for the former B F Goodrich Co. Mrs. Abromaitis was born in Derby, daughter of the late Michael and Nellie Pronewicz. She was a communicant of St. Anthony`s Church, Ansonia. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Centers of Ansonia, Shelton and Derby, and a member of the Duchess Club of Ansonia. She is survived by her son, William Abromaitis Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Beacon Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Pronewicz; and three half brothers, Al, John and Nick Nikituk. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, (TODAY) at 11 a.m. from the Hyla-Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony`s Church, Ansonia. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Anthony`s Church, 199 North Main Street, Ansonia, CT 06401 or Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.

Stephen J. Kozak Jr., age 58, of Bridgeport, died on Saturday, July 21, 2001, at St. Vincent`s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Bridgeport to the late Stephen J. Kozak Sr. and Kathryn Paroskie Kozak, he was a lifelong city resident. He was a graduate of Bassick High School and was employed at Sound Investments of Norwalk. Survivors include his beloved sister, Mary Riley of Billings, Mont.; four nephews, George, John, Patrick and Michael Riley; aunts and uncle, Metro and Anna Paroskie of Bridgeport, and Theresa Skiba of Orlando, Fla.; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, with the Rev. John Maronko officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Tuesday (TODAY), from 6 to 8 p.m.

SISTRUNK
Tymon Odell Sistrunk was born on April 12, 1980. He was a longtime resident of Bridgeport, attended Stratford High School, and was a member of Mercer Tabernacle in Bridgeport. Tymon was the son of Jeanette Sistrunk and the late Norman Galberth. He leaves behind two children, Taijanique La`Asia Sistrunk of Bridgeport, and Re`Anna Tyjane McCoy Sistrunk of Bridgeport; two brothers, DyShaun Sistrunk and Joseph Young of Bridgeport; one sister, Tiffany M. Sistrunk of Waterbury; two nephews, Taurus M. Keys and Dyshaun I. Sistrunk; and a host of other family members and many friends. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday (TODAY) from 10 a.m. to noon in Holy Ghost Deliverance Cathedral, 717 Arctic Street, Bridgeport. Funeral service will begin at noon. Interment to follow service in Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue. Arrangements entrusted to the George J. Peterson Funeral Home, 1041 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport.

Sylvester Ploughman was born in Bofalusa, La., on July 22, 1952, and departed this life on Thursday, July 19, 2001, in Branford. Sylvester relocated to Bridgeport when he was just a teenager, and attended Bassick High School. He played for the Bridgeport Jets, a semi-pro football team. Sylvester was well-known in the community and known for his strength and will. He always accepted the things that he could not change. Sylvester was always happy, smiling and witty. For all of us who knew him, he will always be "Sugar Ray" in our hearts. Sugar Ray leaves us to join his mother, Mary Mackey; his sister, LaVonne Franklin; his brother, Mervin Mackey; and a son, Kmarr Lasaffa Semedo (Khaliq) in heaven. Sugar Ray leaves to mourn him one daughter, Tanara Semedo; stepdaughter, Star Semedo; sisters, Lillie Jones and Patricia Mackey; brothers, Johnny Mackey, Michael (Hick) Ploughman and A.V. Mackey; one uncle, Willie D. Ploughman; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, July 25, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the George J. Peterson Funeral Home, 1041 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport. Funeral service will begin at 8 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

STANCHINA
Carolina V. (nee Gaudioso) Stanchina, age 86, of Fairfield, died Saturday at her sons home in Medford Lakes, N.J. Born in Bronx, N.Y., Mrs. Stanchina lived in Fairfield for over 45 years. She retired in 1976 from Fairfield University after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Cathoic Church, and a member of the retirement club of Fairfield University. She was the wife of the late Alfred J. Stanchina. She is survived by a son, Arthur J. Stanchina of Medford Lakes, N.J.; a daughter, Barbara A. Maglione of Southbridge, Va.; two brothers; and two sisters; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Sanchinas memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, N.J. 08053. PANTALONE
Thomas R. Pantalone, age 71, of 20 Glen Drive, Ansonia, husband to Margaret Condon Pantalone, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Connecticut Hospice. He was born in Ansonia, on November 20, 1929, son of the late Gusintino and Jennie Arnone Pantalone. He was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, was a graduate of Pine High School, was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was employed for 31 years in the mechanical maintenance department of Connecticut Light and Power, Devon power plant, retiring in 1987. Survivors, besides his wife, are one daughter, Marianne Wilson of Seymour; two sons, Robert T. Pantalone of Monroe, and Mark Pantalone of Ansonia; four sisters, Rita Fazzino and Rose Goggi, both of Ansonia, Viola Ciola of the Huntington section of Shelton, and Anamarie Cook of Middletown; one brother, Samuel Pantalone of Ansonia; and three grandchildren. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 8:40 a.m. from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 North Cliff Street, Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption. Entombment will be in Mount St. Peter`s Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice or the Assumption Church in care of the funeral home.

Sophie (Dostilio) Sukaitis, age 78, of Bridgeport, a retired employee of the General Electric Co., entered into rest on Sunday, July 22, 2001, in her home. Born in Bridgeport on August 12, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Arcole and Mary (Pavia) Dostilio, and a Bridgeport resident all of her life. Mrs. Sukaitis was the widow of John Sukaitis. Survivors include her beloved family, one brother, Dom Dostilio, and one nephew, Russ Dostilio, both of Trumbull; and several other nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 9 a.m., DIRECTLY in St. Margarets Shrine, Park Avenue, Bridgeport. Entombment in St. Michael Chapel Mausoleum, Stratford. Nellie Dzialo, age 89, of Bridgeport, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at St. Vincent`s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Dzialo. A lifelong resident, Nellie was a retired inspector for the Brass Co. where she worked for more than 40 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Nellie was a devoted and caring parishioner of St. Michael`s Church. Survivors include three sisters, Victoria Krause of Stratford, Bertha Roberts of Glendale, N.Y., and Thelma Girvan of the Huntington section of Shelton; many nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Lang; and two brothers, Walter and Frank Dzialo. Friends are invited to go DIRECTLY to St. Michael the Archangel Church on Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 11 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Michael`s Cemetery, Stratford. At Nellie`s request, calling hours will be omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski Street, Bridgeport, in memory of Nellie. The Commerce Hill-Radozycki Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line), is in charge of arrangements.

Carlotta (Christino) Guglielmi, age 89, of Stratford, a retired employee of the General Electric Co., entered into rest on Monday, July 23, 2001, at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Center in Stratford. Born in Montecalvo, Italy, on November 15, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Lucia (Caccese) Christino and was a Stratford and Bridgeport resident for most of her life. Mrs. Guglielmi was the widow of Anthony Guglielmi Sr. Survivors include her beloved family: her children, Lucy DiGirolamo and her husband, Guy, of Stratford, Mary Parisi of Bridgeport, and Jack Guglielmi and his wife, Janet, of Milford; eight grandchildren, Guy, Mark, David and Dino DiGirolamo, Anthony, Carmine and Jennifer Guglielmi, and Deidra Arts; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Anthony Christino of Massachusetts; two sisters, Louise Newbauer and Angela MacLannan of New Port Richey, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Tony Guglielmi. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at 9 a.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, and at 10 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, Bridgeport. Entombment in Mountain Grove Garden Mausoleum, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home.
