JESSIE H. MARTZ
Mrs. Martz, 80, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Sept. 30, 2000, in Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was a teacher and a homemaker.
Mrs. Martz was born April 20, 1920, in Goosecreek, Texas, to Howard and Orleanor (MacKenzie) Humphrey, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 12, 1946, to Robert W. Martz.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Robert W. Martz and Dr. Gary L. Martz; a daughter, Susan Martz-Coth-ran; a sister, Jean Haney; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Col. Howard Humphrey.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Rembrance Chapel Mausoleum.

CHARLES "DOTSY" MOSS
Mr. Moss, 68, died Nov. 9, 2000, in Colorado Springs.
Mr. Moss was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Fowler.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby M.; a brother, Donald; and a sister, Phyllis Berry.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

GRANT RILEY MOORE
Grant, infant son of Stacie (Anderson) and Shaun Moore, died Oct. 17, 2000, at a local hospital as a result of SIDS.
Grant was born July 16, 2000, in Colorado Springs.
He is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Joyce and Stan Toenjes, Ralph and Margaret Poole and Ralph and Sharon Anderson; and an uncle, Jeremy Anderson.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Veteran's Memorial Chapel, Fort Carson. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

NEAL LEON JACKSON
Mr. Jackson, 71, died Oct. 15, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was disabled. He served in the Air Force for four years and was a Korean War veteran.
Mr. Jackson was born March 24, 1929, in Colorado Springs to Effrie James and Mamie Jackson, who are deceased.
He is survived by two sons, James and Neal Jr.; two daughters, Audrey Morgan and Denice Shaunghnessy; a sister, Gloria Mae Bolden; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Jo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Angelus Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road. After the burial, a reception will be at 1918 Pruess Circle.
HELEN V. (HITCHCOCK) HIGGINSON
Mrs. Higginson, 79, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Oct. 15, 2000, in Sidney, Neb. She was a nurse at Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind and served in the Army from 1944 to 1946.
Mrs. Higginson was born July 16, 1921, in Kirk to Shirley and Mary Hitchcock, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 6, 1948, to Albert V. Higginson, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Paul of Traverse City, Mich.; two daughters, Barbara Higginson of Sidney and Ann Drake of Aurora; a brother, Lisle Hitchcock of San Andreas, Calif.; a sister, Mildred Albertson of Aurora; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children; a brother; a sister; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Evangelical Free Church, Sidney. Burial will be at Bear Canyon Cemetery, Castle Rock. Gehrig and Son Funeral Home, Sidney, (308) 254-2055, is handling arrangements.

WERNER I. FINSTROM
Mr. Finstrom, 70, died Oct. 16, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a police officer for 32 years.
Mr. Finstrom was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Colorado Springs to Werner Finstrom and Ina Flodin, who are deceased. He was married Jan. 1, 1955, to Beverlye Anne Fields.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kristofer and Martin; two daughters, Sharon Finstrom and Nancy Sechler; two brothers, Eric and Carl; and a grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Thorson.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Finstrom's family home, 3419 W. Kiowa St. A private internment will be at a later date. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

ROY ALAN JOHNSON
Mr. Johnson, 24, died Oct. 14, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a stocker for Wal-Mart.
Mr. Johnson was born Nov. 28, 1975, in Broomfield to Roy Johnson and Helen G. Wills.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, Cy; a sister, Lisa; and his grandparents, Fred and Betty Wills.

FLOYD RAY YOUNG
Mr. Young, 83, died Oct. 14, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and served in the Army from Feb. 22, 1942, to Sept. 25, 1945, during World War II.
Mr. Young was born July 15, 1917, in Hubbel, Neb., to Charles and Kitty (Merrian) Young, who are deceased. He was married May 18, 1946, to Betty Rose Zlab, who is deceased.
He is survived by a son, Lerry L.; his longtime companion, Elizabeth West; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 10 brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Inurnment will be private.
LOUISE LIGHTY-BLACK
Louise, 78, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Oct. 10, 2000, in Atlanta. She was a housewife.
Louise was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Stockton, Kan.
She is survived by a son, Bill of Colorado Springs; three daughters, Barbara Fordyce of Long Beach, Calif., Pat McClure of Atlanta and Michelle Raisch of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Juanita Bolen of Caņon City; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

BETTY MARIE STEELE
Betty, 65, a Colorado Springs resident, died Oct. 13, 2000, in Clackamas, Ore. She was an executive secretary and missionary with H.C.J.B. World Radio Fellowship.
Betty was born Jan. 3, 1935, in Baker, Mont., to Vernie W. and Margaret H. Steele, who are deceased.
She is survived by two brothers, David A. and Dwight; and a sister, Ruth Schadler.

RUDOLPH J. "RUDY" PETERECK
Mr. Petereck, 84, died Oct. 13, 2000, at a local care center.
Mr. Petereck was employed with Colorado Gardens Nursery.
He was retired from McConnell Hardware Store and previously owned Ru-Jans Party Shop and Colorado Gardens Nursery.
He did the "Gardeners Gossip" program with KSSS and KVOR radio. He also served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Petereck was born March 12, 1916, in Topeka, Kan., to Rudolf F. and Harriett E. Bartlett Petereck, who are deceased. He was married June 1, 1944, to Mary Jane Morrison, who is deceased.
He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Nichols and Gayle Lee Munter; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home "Chapel of Peace." A private interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

ELDA L. WATSON
Mrs. Watson, 86, died Oct. 15, 2000, at a local care center. She was a homemaker and mother.
Mrs. Watson was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Joplin, Mo., to William H. and Anna C. (Hilburn) Vantrease, who are deceased. She was married April 14, 1934, to George R. Watson, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Robert L. of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Phyllis J. Soard of Grove, Okla.; a brother, Bill Vantrease of Joplin; two sisters, Louise Wilkins of Joplin and Catherine Isbelle of Joplin; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles; six brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991. Services will be in Joplin. Burial will be at Ozark Memorial Park, Joplin.
