LAURA EMMA STOCKMAN

Miss Stockman, 92, died Aug. 4, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a child care provider and an ordained minister.

Miss Stockman was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Plevna, Kan., to Otto L. Stockman and Ida A. Obenhaus, who are deceased.

She is survived by nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, the Rev. Otto W. Stockman, the Rev. Milton Stockman and the Rev. Elmer Stockman.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Preachers' Relief Society, 1445 Evencrest Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.

MARGARET W. "PEG" McKINLEY

Mrs. McKinley, 81, a former resident, died Aug. 1, 2000, at a hospital in Meeker. She was a bookkeeper.

Mrs. McKinley was born May 10, 1919, in Washington, Pa., to James Little and Mary Belle (Baxter) Watson, who are deceased. She was married in 1939 to Francis William McKinley, who is deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat Hanks and Mary Kay Phillips; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nona May Gelow.

Memorial services were held Aug. 2 at St. James' Episcopal Church. Meeker Mortuary, 517 Park Ave., Meeker, (970) 878-5722, handled arrangements.

THOMAS D. CHMIELEWSKI

Mr. Chmielewski, 77, died Aug. 3, 2000, at home in Security after a long battle with cancer. He retired from the Army after 20 years and was a veteran of World War II and Korea.

Mr. Chmielewski was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Silver Lake, Minn., to Joseph and Mary (Pawiak) Chmielewski, who are deceased. He was married Nov. 4, 1954, to Hazel Chastain, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, Thomas; two daughters, Nancy Ward and Ski Croghan; a stepdaughter, Myrtle Morgan; three sisters, Catherine Kozial, Ann Nolan and Agnes Dolezal; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Frank; and four sisters, Pauline Chmielewski and Stella Chmielewski, Elizabeth Nowak and Barbara Mallak.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 331 Main St., Security. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

RUTH BARBARA MACE

Mrs. Mace, 69, died Aug. 3, 2000, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Mace was born June 26, 1931, in Oneida, N.Y., to Max and Barbara Walter, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 24, 1952, to Jerome Fagan Mace.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Michael; two daughters, Karen Blair and Barbara Doche; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

DAN J. MATHIS

Mr. Mathis, 78, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, died Aug. 5, 2000. He was a retired accountant.

Mr. Mathis was born July 30, 1922, in Colorado Springs to Russel Oliver and Mabel Florence (Barney) Mathis, who are deceased. He was married May 29, 1947, to Virginia Jones.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Mike, David and Andrew; three daughters, Susan Fansler, Penny Pretti and Candice Mathis; a sister, Edna Jones; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Robert; and a sister, Isabel Carpenter.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Church of Security, 626 Aspen Drive, Security. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906, is handling arrangements.

HARRIETTE L. COOK: Mrs. Cook, 87, died July 16, 2000, at a local care center as a result of natural causes. She was owner of Acacia Art Supplies & Antiques for 18 years until 1986.

Mrs. Cook was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Kansas City, Mo. She was married June 23, 1934, to Joseph Cook, who is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Brownlee, and two grandchildren.

Private services were held. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, handled arrangements.

JUDY A. (VAN DEUSEN) RASKA: Mrs. Raska, 58, died July 18, 2000, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Raska was born Dec. 28, 1941, in Omaha, Neb., to Harry R. and Cecelia J. (Hughes) Van Deusen, who are deceased. She was married April 17, 1965, to Harley W. Raska.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Todd Raska, Timothy Raska, William Boyd and Michael Boyd; two brothers, Robert Van Deusen and Harry "Pat" Van Deusen; a sister, Erin Wilson; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the giver's choice.

HENRY LEE "HANK" ASHBY: Mr. Ashby, 65, died July 14, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was an electronic systems technician and retired from the Army after 21 years of service, attaining the rank of sergeant.

Mr. Ashby was born March 15, 1935, in Geneva, Ky., to Henry and Mary (Tegethoff) Ashby. His father is deceased. He was married Aug. 15, 1975, to Joanne Ellenore Bradshaw.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Steven Michael; a daughter, Cynthia Jo; a stepson, Alfred Abeyta; three stepdaughters, Renee Abeyta Jaramillo, Cheryl Abeyta and Lisa Martin; his mother; four brothers, John, Benjamin, Phillip and Robert; a sister, Martha Duncan; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard; and a sister, Dorothy O'Daniels.

No services are planned. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

NORBERT WUCKOWITSCH

Mr. Wuckowitsch, 77, died July 6, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a carpenter for El Paso Flooring.

Mr. Wuckowitsch was born July 27, 1922, in Greeley, Kan., to Frank and Sophia (Zormeier) Wuckowitsch, who are deceased. He was married Feb. 22, 1944, to LaVera Catherine Mersman, who is deceased.

He is survived by a son, Tony; a daughter, Veda Ann Ming; two brothers, Frank and John; four sisters, Marie Katzer, Veronica Miller, Ann Gengal and Helen Wuckowitsch; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Huttenmuller.

Services and burial were held in Greeley. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, 219 S. Oak, Garnett, Kan., (785) 448-5411, handled arrangements.

MARGUERITE D. YEPSEN

Mrs. Yepsen, 74, died July 11, 2000, at a local care center. She was a retired school teacher.

Mrs. Yepsen was born March 26, 1926, in Bismarck, N.D., to Alf Nicolai and Marguerite Dorothy (Schoenhard) Ellington, who are deceased. She was married July 31, 1949, to John H. Yepsen.

She is survived by her husband; a son, John D., three daughters, Karen Kalgren, Kristi Perko and Karlyn Yepsen; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1318 N. Circle Drive, followed by a reception at the Sunde Center at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1318 N. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs 80909.

JANICE GAY EGGLESTON

Ms. Eggleston, 52, died July 10, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Ms. Eggleston was born April 11, 1948, in Orange, Calif., to Norman Leonard Barbre and Gwendolyn Janice Creager, who are deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Leo "Chip" Rizuto and Bryan Rizuto; a daughter, Kathy Spidle; a brother, Craig Barbre; three sisters, Terry Davies, Carolyn Barbre and Norma Brown; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Place Church, 2403 Templeton Gap Road. Private inurnment is planned. Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. 475-8303, is handling arrangements.

NORMA MAURER

Mrs. Maurer, 90, died July 4, 2000, at a local care center. She was a retired secretary.

Mrs. Maurer was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Fleetwood, Pa., to John and Linda Weidman, who are deceased. She was married April 14, 1941, to Otto Maurer, who is deceased.

She is survived by a sister, Vera Trees. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Weidman.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

RUTH (RANDOLPH) KUNSELMAN

Mrs. Kunselman, 74, died July 8, 2000 at a local hospital. She was a sewing and quilting instructor.

Mrs. Kunselman was born Aug 23, 1925, in Wooster, Ohio, to H. Sherfey and Ida Mae (Press) Randolph, who are deceased. She was married Dec 27, 1943 to Robert N. Kunselman.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Stewart; two daughters, Jan Perry and Kim Bair; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4050 S. Nonchalant Circle. Private inurnment is planned. Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.
