ROSENDO R. TRUJILLO

Born Dec. 2, 1916. Died March 28, 2002.

Machinist and welder, lifetime Colorado resident. Survived by his wife, Mary J. Trujillo; a son, Ed; and two daughters, Beatrice Escobar and Marie (Terry) Martinez. Visitation, 9 to 11 a.m., Monday, Nolan Funeral Home. Graveside services, 1 p.m., Monday, Evergreen Cemetery.

HAZEL E. SORENSEN

Hazel E. Sorensen 89, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away March 20, 2002 in Colorado Springs, CO.

She was preceded in death by her former husbands B. Franklin Furr and William J. Sorensen; and by her oldest son, James Furr.

She will be truly missed by her children, Gene Furr, Clara Croghan, William Sorensen and their spouses. She was an incredibly talented lady and was an inspiration to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many hobbies, but will always be remembered for the quilts and other beautiful things that she lovingly stitched. She was loved and admired for her sense of humor and spunky disposition. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Services will be held at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., on Monday, March 25, 2002 at 10:00 A.M.

RICHARD EBERT RET. LTC USAF

Richard Ebert, LTC, USAF (retired) passed away suddenly on 20 March 2002. He was born in Drumwright, Oklahoma on 13 June 1945 to Charles and Billy (Foster) Ebert. He graduated from Western Kentucky University and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Rick taught school for a year before joining the military. He retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 23 years of service. Early in his career he attended Navigators school and flew in the C130. The greatest joy in his military career was the opportunity to fly in the F-4 fighter. Throughout his military career he served in Thailand during the Viet Nam war, had 2 tours in Europe, and was a unit commander during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Rick thoroughly enjoyed his years in the Air Force. He was a very patriotic man, cherished the freedom of our democracy and took great pride in the opportunity to serve his country.

After Rick's military retirement he worked for SAIC in Virginia and then took a position with Lockheed Martin in 1996. Rick was thrilled with the opportunity to move to Colorado because of his love for the outdoors. He was a hunter but believed strongly in the preservation and maintenance of wildlife, the protection of open space, and the opportunity for children to experience the beauty and wonder of nature. He was a member of the NRA and was an instructor in personal protection.

Rick was a man who deeply loved his family. His greatest joy and pride was in his daughter Michelle. He felt incredibly blessed by the birth of his granddaughter, Haley and found so much pleasure in being "Paa-pa." Rick's family and friends will forever miss his wonderful sense of humor, the smile that filled your heart with joy and his never failing love.

He was married to Darla Lofswold on 15 April 1989. He is survived by Darla, his mother Billy Ebert, his daughter Michelle Wong and granddaughter Haley Wong, all of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Other survivors include his son-in-law Mike, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the summer Youth Safety classes at Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition, PO Box 17253, Colorado Springs, CO 80935 or to the Rick Ebert Memorial, Trails and Open Space Coalition, 1426 N. Hancock Ave., Suite 4N, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, March 24, at Mountain View Mortuary. Services will be at 3:00 PM Monday, March 25 at the Air Force Community Chapel, Air Force Academy.

JUNGNIM ADAMS

Born March 15, 1930. Died March 20, 2002.

Homemaker, a 23-year Colorado Springs resident. Survived by her husband, Howard D. Adams; and a son, James F. Visitation, 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Swan Law Funeral Home. Services, 10 a.m., Tuesday, Swan Law Funeral Home.

HIRAM H. CHURCH JR.

Born July 28, 1932. Died March 14, 2002.

Construction worker, a Colorado Springs resident. Survived by five sons, Arthur, Hiram III, Ricky, Shane and Kenny; and two daughters, Hope T. Peniagua and Stephanie M. Church. Visitation, 1 to 2 p.m., today, Swan Law Cascade Chapel. Funeral service, 2 p.m., today, Swan Law Cascade Chapel. Burial, Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

LOREN STERLING COX

Born Sept. 30, 1922. Died March 19, 2002.

Pharmaceutical sales/Navy, a lifelong Colorado Springs resident. Survived by his wife, Pat Cox. Interment, Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Evergreen Funeral Home.

YVONNE DeBRUNNER

Born Oct. 14, 1908. Died March 19, 2002.

Homemaker, a Colorado Springs resident. Visitation, 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, Nolan Funeral Home Chapel. Services, 10 a.m., Monday, Nolan Funeral Home. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery.

ADONIA C. JOHNSON

Born Aug. 20, 1940. Died March 15, 2002.

Nurse, a 29-year Colorado Springs resident. Survived by her husband, Charles Johnson. Services, 1 p.m., Sunday, Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, Fountain.

DOROTHY L. LOCKWOOD

Born July 18, 1914. Died March 21, 2002.

Homemaker, a 42-year Colorado Springs resident. Survived by three sons, Larry, Robert and Jerry; and a daughter, Donna Van Voorhees. Funeral services, 10:30 a.m., Monday, Evergreen Funeral Home "Chapel of Peace."

LOIS MONTOYA

Born March 22, 1912. Died March 21, 2002.

A 49-year Colorado Springs resident. Survived by a son, Monty; and four daughters, Barbara Winget, Elizabeth Booth, Carmen Montoya and Patricia Montoya. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home.

BRUCE EDWARD CLARK

Bruce Edward Clark, born August 21, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away March 14, 2002. He spent 5 years in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his parents, Col. (Ret.) James H. and Dola Clark of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Douglas and wife, Carol, of Fayetteville, AR and Robert Kent of San Antonio, TX; and sister, Leslie and husband, Paul Graves, of Gallup, NM; and seven nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins of the Edward S. Rodgers, family, and many relatives of the Clark family, and by close friends, Alma Crenenesce, Jeff Meyers and Michael Bosons. A memorial service for Bruce was held Wednesday, March 20, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to El Rancho de los Ninos Orphanage, P.O. Box 2400, Los Lunas, NM 87301.

VIRGINIA M. CONIFF

Virginia M. Coniff, 84, of Colorado Springs, passed away March 23, 2002.

She was born January 6, 1918 in Canton, Ohio to Austin and Mary (Henry) Kuhns, who are deceased.

Virginia married John P. Coniff on March 6, 1934, who is deceased.

Survivors include eight children; 24 grandchildren ; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. she was preceded in death by one son.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2002 at Shrine of Remebrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses.

Private burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

PHYLLIS KAY MOHR

Phyllis Kay Mohr, wife of Henry A. 'Hank" Mohr and daughter of the late Arthur and Audrey Youch, was born November 16, 1945 in Walsenberg, Colorado, and died March 21, 2002 at the Pikes Peak Hospice, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and received her early education in Pueblo City Schools. She acquired seventeen years of secondary, technical and professional education.

Phyllis worked in the health care profession for thirty-one years; ten years for St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, twenty-one years in the Penrose-St. Francis Health Care System.

Phyllis cherished nature and the outdoors. She loved camping, fishing and gardening. She loved being creative and enjoyed cooking and sewing; she taught herself the art to flower arrange.

She was happiest in service to others. She loved caring for her own family and with great generosity reached out to others. She assisted in raising thirteen other children that she cared for as her own.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Hank; three sons, Troy (Kelly) Terry and Toby; two daughters, Tasha (Andy) Ketchum and Melissa; three granddaughters, Audra Ketchum, Haley and Kaley Mohr; three sisters, Janis (Ralph) Woody, Carol (David) Trujillo and Sharon (Herman) Herrera; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Audrey; three grandsons, Dennis Ketchum, Vincent Volmer and Jacob Voller and a nephew.

A Memorial Service will be on Friday, March 29, 2002 at 1:30p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4955 Meadowland in Colorado Springs.

Memorial contributions may be made to the, Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak, #600, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.

RANDY LEE DIETZ

Randy Lee Dietz 44, of Castle Rock, Colorado, died Sunday, March 24, 2002 at the Littleton Hospital.

Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2002 at the church of the Rock in Castle Rock. The Reverend Rick Hoover will officiate.

Randy was born on November 5, 1957 in Macomb, Illinois the son of Russell Lee and Marianne (Flood) Dietz. On April 2, 1979 he married Paula Dennice Greetham in Hacienda Heights, California. He was Vice President of Classic's Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was an active member in Girls Fast Pitch Softball. Randy and his family moved to Castle Rock in November of 2001 from Colorado Springs.

Randy is preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Dietz is survived by his wife, Dennice of Castle Rock, his mother, Marianne Dietz of Carlsbad, CA, two daughters, Danielle Dietz of Colorado Springs and Sarah Dietz of Castle Rock, one brother, Rick (Colleen) Dietz of Santa Clarita, California, mother-in-law, Rosella Greetham of Pueblo, Colorado, father-in-law, Tom Greetham of Rancho Cucamonga, California, business partner and best friend, Richard Beaven of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Funeral Home Castle Rock.

MARY ELIZABETH HAYS

Mary Elizabeth Hays died March 30, 2002 at her home. She was born October 21, 1923 in Colorado Springs to Carl T. and Myrtle M. Rollins, who are deceased. She was a 1941 graduate of Colorado Springs High School.

Mary was married December 25, 1943 to Raymond "LeRoy" Hays at her parentsí home. She worked at Phil Long Ford 18 years as a Parts Document Controller. Mary played the piano and organ at Central Christian Church for a number of years and was active in the choir, Willing Workers, and taught children's Sunday School.

Mary is survived by her husband; a daughter, Linda K. Hobden; two grandchildren, Russell A. Head and Rondelle C. Shambo; two great-grandchildren, Josalyn A. Romero and Samantha K. Shambo; and a sister, Julia M. Sowers.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Rollins and Carl T. Rollins, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at Central Christian Church, 2002 W. Pikes Peak. Memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, CO., 80903.
