Dan Gregory
Dan W. Gregory, 93, of Fort Collins, died Nov. 13, 2008, at his residence.
Dan was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Foxhome, Minn., to John Hugh Gregory and Sophia Peterson Gregory.
Dan married Elizabeth (Bessie) Puleston on Jan. 20, 1940, in Arvada.
Dan lived in Wyoming and Northern Colorado since 1940 and moved to Fort Collins in 1957. Daniel was a line supervisor for the Western Slope Gas Company.
He was a rockhound, who enjoyed camping and flyfishing in the mountains and the Poudre Canyon. He was also a longtime member of the Oddfellows.
Survivors include his son, Dan J. Gregory of Decatur, Alabama; a daughter, Annetta Saxerud of Fort Collins; one sister, Ethel Emerine of Fort Collins; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding Dan in death are his parents, a brother, Owen Gregory and his wife Bessie.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Those who desire may view Dan from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.

Lilly Hiller
Lilly H. Hiller, of Fort Collins, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 after 97 quality years of life.
Lilly was born and raised in New York City to Ludwig and Anna Herlitschek. Along with her three brothers, she helped the family in their neighborhood eatery and pinochle parlor. As a teenager, she also worked at the family's summer hotel business in the mountain area of Tannersville, N.Y.
At a getaway weekend for herself in the Catskill Mountains, she met the saxophone player of the band playing there, made a date to play tennis the next day and they spent the next 50 years together. Lilly and Manuel B. Hiller were married in 1945, after he returned from Europe serving in World War II and began work as an attorney in Washington, D. C. Manny died in 1990.
In the 1950s, Lilly attended the University of Maryland, where she studied interior design, which was to become her occupation for many years to come. She and Manny enjoyed music, theater, travel in the U.S. and abroad, golf and much more.
Lilly had a passion for art and leaves a legacy of her paintings including oils, acrylics and especially watercolors. In Washington, she served as a docent at the National Gallery of Art.
She is survived by her son, Andrew Hiller; her daughter-in-law, Carol Hiller; and brothers, Walter Herlitschek, and Robert Herlitschek.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Diabetes Foundation in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel followed by a reception at the Hiller home, 806 Whalers Way, Fort Collins.
Nelda Swift
Nelda Rose Swift, 88, of Fort Collins formerly of Wellington, died Dec. 8, 2008 at Poudre Valley Hospital.
Mrs. Swift was born Aug. 24, 1920 in Farmington, W. Va., to John Leslie Matheny and Margaret Indiana Bland Matheny.
Nelda married Ruben Swift on Jan. 8, 1942, in Friendship, N. Y.
Nelda has lived in locally since 1964, moving from New York State. She was a custodian for Larimer County, a member of the Veterans Auxillary and enjoyed reading.
Survivors include her sons, Ruben Swift and his wife, Cathy of Luling, Texas, Terry Swift and his family of Fort Collins; a daughter, Nelda Coria and her husband Joe of Wellington; one sister, Josephine Benham of Cuba, N.Y., 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Nelda in death are her parents; husband; and her daughter, Helen Margaret Widick, who preceded her in 2006.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at River of Life Fellowship Church in Wellington.
Trevor Partain
Trevor Partain, infant son of Philip and Jennifer died Dec. 8. Besides his parents he is survived by three brothers.
Memorial Service 11:30 a.m. Friday at PEAK Community Church.

Charlene "Charlie" Hiatt (Kahler)
Charlene "Charlie" Hiatt (Kahler) a 35 year resident of Fort Collins passed away suddenly at home on Dec. 20, 2008.
She was born to the late Rudolph and Alice Kahler in Rapid City, S.D., on May 27, 1939, and grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She later lived throughout the United States and eventually settled in Fort Collins.
In her youth, she raced stock cars and later enjoyed 4x4ing, horseback riding, water skiing, and tractor pulls.
She enjoyed life on the edge and playing the odds. She was strong willed, quick witted, independent and enjoyed making people laugh. Her door was always open to friends or soon to be friends. Charlene retired from NCR in 1995.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Tony Kahler.
She is survived by a sister, Peggy (Ralph) Wadsworth of Salt Lake City, Utah; and brother, Lamont (Joan) Kahler of San Diego, Calif.; also by her three daughters, of whom she was very proud, Kathryn (Joe) Heitmann of Auburn, Wash., Kimberly (Bobb) Wright of Hilmar, Calif., and Kelly (Robert) Cromer of Wellington. She leaves behind nine nephews; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; many friends; and her beloved dachshunds, Streudel & Piper.
The family would like to thank all those who befriended "Charlie" and offered a helping hand when she needed it.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in her name to The Colorado Dachshund Rescue, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the American Red Cross.

Mary Ann Martin
Mary Ann Martin, 67, of Fort Collins, passed away Dec. 21, 2008 at home. She was born Aug. 21, 1941 to Alex and Mary Martin in Fort Collins. She married Bill R. Martin on Nov. 21, 1977 and shared 31 happy years together.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dick.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; and step children, Brad and Holly Martin of Round Rock, Texas, Bret and Janet Martin of Thornton, Brenda Martin and Doug Grant of Fort Collins, Blain and Debbie Martin of Eagle, Idaho. She is also survived by her brother, Larry and Peggy Martin of Loveland and her nephews, Kevin and Becky Martin of Omaha, Neb., Eric Martin of Loveland, and Chris and Debra (sp) Martin of Loveland, Roger Winfrey of Fort Collins and niece Rhonda and Dee Michael Castenada of Fort Collins; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1958, Mary Ann lived briefly on the west coast but soon missed her family and returned to Fort Collins. She began working at Colorado State University in 1967. She retired from the University in 2001 and settled down to a quiet life with Billy. As sometimes fate would have it, her life was not to be so uneventful. Mary Ann contracted several challenging medical conditions which she endured with grace and a preservation of spirit that would make an angel smile. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Home 121 West Olive Street, Fort Collins, on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Limb Preservation Foundation in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
William Bidwell
William B. Bidwell of Fort Collins, son of Lorne and Ona Bidwell of Wellman, Iowa, died on Dec. 4, at Poudre Valley Hospital after a brief illness. He was 85.
After serving in World War II, Bill received a Navy Unit Citation for having served on the LST #485.
He retired from Moorman's Feed Manufacturing Company out of Quincy, Illinois, and the Chittenden and Eastman Company of Burlington, Iowa. He and his family moved to Colorado in 1966.
Bill was a Mason for over 50 years. Most recently he was a member of Collins Lodge #19 and Fidelity Lodge #192. He was also a member of White Shrine #13 Galilee and El Jebel Shrine.
Bill's life revolved around his family. He is survived by his three children, Jolynn Lauer of Santa Rosa, Calif., Susan Spight of Hamden, Conn., and William Keith Bidwell of Aurora; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, ten nieces, and nephews and their families.
Preceding Bill in death are his parents; his wife, Jean Bidwell; his brothers and sisters, Shirley Forsyth, Donald Bidwell, Charlotte Slockett, and Robert Bidwell.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Masonic Lodge will be conducting a service.

Thomas Marshall
Thomas "Tom" Theodore Marshall, age 75, of Fort Collins died Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the Centre Avenue Health and Rehabilitation facility.
He was born Sept. 7, 1933 at Crestline, Ohio to Alva Marshall and Agnes Jeanette Haugh. He attended Hopewell Louden High School in Bascom, Ohio.
He married Kay S. Marshall on Feb. 8, 1964 in Fort Collins and they shared 44 years together. Tom was an avid outdoorsman enjoying spending time with animals. He loved to go camping in their RV and for five years they traveled between Fort Collins and their home at Lake Havasu, Ariz.
In 1948, Tom moved to the Cherokee Park Dude Ranch and worked there until 1962. He then moved to Fort Collins where he worked at Wards and was the manager of Horseman Headquarter's Western Store. He then started his career as shop/maintenance foreman at Poudre Valley Electric Association, retiring in 1993 due to his failing health.
He joined the Larimer County Sheriff's Posse in 1973 and served as an officer working on the search/rescue of the Big Thompson flood. He worked and judged the Kid's rodeo at the Larimer County Fair. During his fatherhood years, he became very involved with the National Little Britches Rodeo Association. He sat on the NLBRA Board of Directors as the Judge's Representative and judged numerous rodeois in the Rocky Mountain Region.
Survivors include his wife, Kay S. Marshall of Fort Collins; and a son, Justin T. Marshall and his wife, Lisa, of Ault. They have four children, Jamison, 13, Jack six, and twin girls, Allison and Samantha, two. Also surviving are brother, Jerry Marshall and wife, Marge, of Tiffin, Ohio, Tim Marshall and wife, Phil, of Fort Collins; brother, Pete Marshall and wife, Diana, of Fort Collins; sister, Twila Perry and husband, Dave, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and sister, Nanette Loewens and husband, Al, of California.
A memorial service will be held on Jan. 2, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the Harbor of Hope Church, 608 E. Drake, Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to either the Larimer County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol or the National Little Britches Rodeo Association and sent to Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive, Fort Collins.
Lloyd Jones
Our beloved Husband, Daddy, Dad, Big Pa, Gramps, Grandpa, PaPaw, Poppy, Jones went home to be with his Savior, Jesus, on Dec. 30, 2008. He was 86 years young.
Lloyd was born in New Liberty, Mo., to Silas and Myrtle Jones on Feb. 18, 1922. He was one of nine children and grew up on the family farm in Missouri. At the age of 15 he began what was a lifelong love of the timber business. He cut and hauled his last load of logs at age 85. He loved the mountains of Colorado and when he moved to Fort Collins in 1946 he knew he was home. It was this home where he and his wife, Eileen, raised their family of four daughters. To his girls he was known as "Daddy" and to his seven grandchildren he was known as "Gramps", "Grandpa", "Big Pa" and "PaPaw". To his 13 great-grandchildren he was known as "Poppy", "Grandpa" and "Jones".
Lloyd proudly served his country during World War II. He served November 1942 through October 1945. He served in Europe and North Africa. He was awarded three Purple Hearts, Sharpshooter Medal and various other medals.
Lloyd's life was a showcase of God's redeeming grace and he knew that God's strength was made perfect in his weakness.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eileen; a son, Lloyd Wayne; his parents, three brothers, three sisters and many other loved ones.
God brought a special gift to Lloyd in March of 2006. His precious Betty came into his life and God gave them three beautiful years living in the mountains above Fort Collins. Betty was a gift not only to him but to his daughters and their families.
Lloyd is survived by his dear Betty; brother, Silas (Eileen) Jones; sister, Mildred (Bill) Domurath; daughters, Melba Pinon, Mary (Doug) Streed, Sharon (Jim) Hindman and Tricia (Alan) Hallock; grandchildren, Michael (Sherri) Pinon, Kevin Pinon, Mark (Anna) Streed, James (Kristin) Hindman, Jarrod (Tonya) Hindman, Joshua (Chelle) Hallock, Jessica (Adam) Pruitt; and 13 great-granchildren along with other family and close friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 4036 S. Shields. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mr. Jones from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.

Frank Baker
Frank Raymond Baker, 94, of Rist Canyon, died Jan. 12, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Baker was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Redding, Iowa, to Ira Clarence Baker and Lula Bell Herrington Baker.
Frank married Mona Viola Crockett on Feb. 6, 1935, in Fillmore, Mis. He later married Mildred Bell Mapes Pittington, Aug. 18, 1948, in Boulder. Both of his wives preceded him in death.
Mr. Baker arrived in Fort Collins in 1958. He was a fork lift operator, truck driver, farmer, fruit picker, and a lumberman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, and had traveled around the United States. He will be remembered for being hardworking and kind hearted.
Survivors include his three sons, Franklin Leon Baker of Bellvue, John Dee Baker of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Ira Dean Baker of Bellvue; four daughters, Roma Ann Marsch of Kansas City, Mis., Nellie Jane Bowman of Fort Collins, Marjorie Ruth Craine of Waldron, Mis., and Mary Faye Typer of Ohio; 29 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding Frank in death is his son William Richard Pittington.
A Private Family Service will be held on the Baker homeplace.
