Margaret Fisch
Margaret Fisch, 86, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born on March 8, 1922 in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was one of three children born to the late Walter and Elsie Hale.
Margaret married the love of her life, Frank Fisch on Sept. 27, 1944 in New Ulm, MN. She was a nurse in MN. They moved to Fort Collins in 1956 and she started working for CSU food service. She was the food service manager at Braidon Hall for many years. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, gardening, entertaining, traveling, and visiting with her many friends. They settled in Mesa, Arizona part of the year. She belonged to the rose society and had a vast number of beautiful roses in her yard. She was active in the Dreamland Villa Singles Club.
She is survived by her two daughters Patricia Jackson (Larry) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Paulette Haley of Fort Collins, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Charles Hale and sister, Inez Sucker.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday Feb. 3 at 11 am at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mrs. Fisch, Monday, 12 – 6 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.

Judith Stange
Judith Diane Chavez Stange, 71, of Fort Collins, died Nov.3, 2008 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
Mrs. Stange was born June 23, 1937 in Fort Collins to Keith Chavez and Bessie Aragon Chavez. She lived most of her life in Fort Collins.
Judith married Dale W. Stange on June 19, 1965 in Boulder.
She was a book binder for Johnson Publishing.
Survivors include her husband, Dale W. Stange of Fort Collins; a daughter, Diana Dunning; four sisters, Marcella Caravas, Mary Lou Ward, Cynthia Chavez, and Felicia Chavez; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Teasha Dunning.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Blessed John 23rd University Parish, 1220 University Ave. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery. Father Francis Nwaiwu will officiate at the services.
Donald Wunsch
Fort Collins native, Donald Lee Wunsch, 72, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, following a 14 year battle with COPD. Don was born in Fort Collins on Feb. 4, 1936, to Alex and Hilda Wunsch. He attended country grade schools and was graduated in 1955 from Fort Collins High School. It was in the 50's that Don earned the name "Barney" amongst his peers because of his high speed antics with his car. Prior to starting his own business in 1976, Don's Keyway, Don worked several jobs in Fort Collins, including Woolworth, Safeway, CSU, Hauf Brau, Oglesbee Furniture, Townhouse Restaurant and Ramada Inn.
In 1974, Don married Patricia M. Romero, who also became his partner in their locksmith and engraving business. As a conscientious and timely locksmith, Don became a hero to many by unlocking their house or car, often in the middle of the night.
Don is survived by his wife; one daughter, Anna (husband, Richard) Burt; two stepchildren, David (wife, Arlene) Romero, and Carolyn (husband, Mark) Johnson. They blessed him with 6-1/2 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Garrison (wife, Margaret) Wunsch, Jeanne (husband, Lonnie) Schulze, Alecia (husband, Jim) Mein, and Stephen (wife, Pamela) Wunsch. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-son, Michael Romero and his granddaughter, Aerial Romero.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6th at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice of Larimer County, who so tenderly cared for him in his last weeks.
Virginia Kissier
Virginia Iola Kissier, 87, of Fort Collins, died Nov. 7th, 2008.
Virginia was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Forest City, Mo., to James Guy and Nancy Randall Guy. She was a homemaker and avid and accomplished bridge player, having attained the distinction of being a Golden Age Master Bridge player. Virginia always found a treasure at the garage sales she attended.
Virginia married Calvin Kissier in 1939, in Oregon, Mo. Virginia lived 13 years in Fort Collins. They previously lived in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Praise be to the Lord, Virginia accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord and is with HIM in Heaven.
The family would like to thank all her bridge players and so many friends. Geri Lou and Marilyn, Mom loved you so very much.
Thank you to PVH and Centre Avenue for the excellent care and loving support. A special prayer is given for Julie and Wendy at Centre Avenue.
Survivors include a son, Roger D. Kissier and his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Karen E. Dolph and her husband, Jerry; four grandchildren, Candie Dolph-Garcia and her husband, Bobby, Greg Dolph and his wife, Debbie, Sheila Schreiner and her husband, Alan, and Cornia McPeters and her husband, Bryan; and eight great-grandchildren, Ryley McPeters, Rayel McPeters, Rourke McPeters, Candra Garcia, Brendan Garcia, Allison Dolph, Bailey Dolph and Garrett Dolph
Preceding Virginia in death are her husband, Calvin, her parents and five brothers and sisters.
A private family memorial will take place.

Lloyd McNally
Lloyd W. McNally passed away at McKee Hospice Center in Loveland on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008.
Lloyd was born Dec. 9, 1909 in Greeley to Luther F. McNally and Maude Maxwell McNally. He was the middle child in a family of eleven children.
He married Mary Landes on June 28, 1933 in Fort Collins. They were married 70 years. Mary preceded Lloyd in death on Jan. 20, 2004.
As a young man he traveled to Alaska, where he worked in the mill at the Fern Gold mine near Palmer. He also worked as a heavy duty mechanic working on the Alcan highway as well as other roads in Alaska. He also worked in the construction of airports in Alaska and construction of the Horsetooth dams west of Fort Collins. The McNally's operated their own dairy farm for many years in LaPorte and Buckeye areas. He also created two subdivisions; McNally's Hilltop Subdivision and McNally's Farview Subdivision. He retired in LaPorte.
Lloyd was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Anchorage, Alaska, and the First United Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Mary. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Guin McNally of Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Bob Stark of Lafayette; son, Lloyd (Bob) McNally of Laporte; sister, Geraldine Kallas of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and sister-in-law, Jackie Nelson of Laporte; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild; and two great- grandchildren.
A funeral to celebrate Lloyd's life will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 13 at First Presbyterian Church, 531 S. College Ave. The Rev. Richard McDermott will officiate. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Larimer County, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
Olive "Rae" Smilie
Olive "Rae" Smilie, 81 died Nov. 9, 2008 at Ptarmigan Assisted Living in Loveland. Mrs. Smilie was born Feb. 5, 1928, in Fort Collins to Olive Wilkins and Tura Wilkins.
Rae graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1945. She married George Smilie in 1945, at the Fort Collins Methodist Church.
Rae lived in Fort Collins for 74 years and California for six years. She was a purchasing agent for Agua-Tec. She enjoyed visits to the ocean and loved to watch western movies.
Survivors include her two sons, Michael Smilie of Loveland and Dennis Smilie of Fort Collins; a sister, Mary Dell Portner of Wellington; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren.
Preceding Rae in death are her former husband, George; her son, Blaine Smilie; and both parents.
A Private Family Service will be held.
James Romero
James Romero, 58, of Fort Collins passed away on Nov. 11, 2008. He was born on Nov. 13, 1949.
Known to friends as Jimmy, Boomba, or Fatman.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; and their dog, Josh; brother, Ben Romero; and sisters, Mary, Margaret, Vera, Elsie, and Joann; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Claudia Romero; uncles, Abe Romero, Moses Gallegos, Manuel Moreno, Frank Gomez, Floyd Haugland; brother-in-law, Robert Boone; nephews; Arthur (Tudy) Martinez and Desmond Roybal; and best friend, Gordy Maxwell.
When he was young, he loved building and racing cars. He also loved riding motorcycles and going to Sturgis. He was a member of the Colorado Cruisers Motorcycle Club in Fort Collins.
He was a DJ and Bouncer at the "Library" night club for several years and worked in Landscaping.
Jimmy lived life to the fullest. He loved his wife, family and friends and will be missed dearly by all.
Funeral Services to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22nd, 2008, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. "Biker attire welcomed"
Immediately following the funeral service, a celebration of his life will be held at the American Legion on Hwy 287 & Taft Hill Rd.

Carmelita Hinds
Carmelita June Hinds, 75, of Fort Collins, died Oct. 28, 2008 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Mrs. Hinds was born April 17, 1933, in Osage County, Kan., to Carl V. Benander and Daisy Cahill Benander. She moved to Fort Collins in 1957. Carmelita married Thomas E. Hinds on July 13, 1957, in Fort Collins.
Carmelita was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her three sons, Keith M. Hinds of Highland Ranch, Carl E. Hinds of Wilmington, N. C., and Kevin Hinds of Thornton; and five grandchildren
Preceding Carmelita in death are her parents; and her husband.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
David Niedringhaus
David A. Niedringhaus of Fort Collins died on Nov. 14, 2008. Dave was born to Albert Niedringhaus and Marie Hancock Niedringhaus in their home near Westphalia, Ind., on Aug. 7, 1937. He was raised on the family farm where he drove a tractor for several local farmers. In 1953, he met his future wife, Jean Killion, at 4-H camp. They attended Sandborn School and played in the band together. She carried his clarinet. He carried her trombone. Dave graduated from Sandborn H.S. in 1955, after serving as the student council president. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington where he earned a degree in Business and Accounting in 1959.
Following graduation and a move to Colorado, Dave married Jean in a candlelight ceremony on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 1960. They eventually settled in Fort Collins.
Dave began work for Forney Industries in 1960 as a distribution manager. In 1967, he moved to the Colorado State University Controller's Office where he worked as an accountant and computer analyst for the next 32 years. Dave retired from CSU in 1999 and accepted a position with the Oracle Corporation as a principal product manager. He commuted to the Bay Area for the next two years.
Dave was a wonderful partner, father and Grandy He supported Jean in building a career in long-term care and creating a catalog of policy manuals. He encouraged his kids to adventure while still keeping an eye to the pragmatic. He delighted in making limericks with his older granddaughters and in the antics of his youngest.
In his spare time and during his retirement years, Dave loved to travel and fish and was a voracious reader. Dave and Jean traveled throughout Europe, Australia, Hawaii and Central America. They often celebrated their wedding anniversary by spending the month of February in Scottsdale, Ariz. In recent years, Dave and Jean took several cruises through the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the Panama Canal. The cruises allowed him to get in some fishing and an occasional hand of blackjack.
Dave was known for his rolling laugh, his joke-telling, his love of Dixieland jazz, and the ability to listen to and tell a story. He was an avid Rams fan, enthusiastic tailgater at Hughes Stadium and a member of the Ram's Club and the Elks Lodge BPOE #804. We'll miss his impish spirit and generous heart.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Scott David and wife, Jacquelyn, of Fort Collins; daughter, Susan Jean Niedringhaus and husband, Joe Schultz of Golden; three granddaughters, Cassa and Elise Niedringhaus and Brigitta Niedringhaus Schultz; brother, Donald and wife, Sandra, of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Nancy Tilly and husband, Herman, of Freelandville, Ind.; brother-in-law, Richard Killion and wife, Ruth, of Canton, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and Jean's parents, Leon and Nathaline Killion.
A memorial celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at CSU's University Club in the Lory Student Center, 1101 Center Ave. Mall, and will be followed by a reception.

Murial Bertsch
Muriel Agnes Bertsch, 92, of Fort Collins, died January 22, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Bertsch was born May 9, 1916 in Sidney, Ohio to Perry Petty and Birdie White Petty. Muriel married Christopher W. Bertsch on April 19, 1941 in Anna, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was an office manager at Copeland Refrigeration for 24 years.
Mrs. Bertsch moved to Fort Collins from Sidney, Ohio in 1994. Muriel was a seamstress and quiltmaker, who taught Sunday and bible school; she was a campgrandmother and on the board of directors at the Lutheran Memorial Camp. Muriel was a member and past president of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women. She also enjoyed travelling and writing.
Survivors include her two daughters, Janet Pleiman and her husband Ron of Fort Collins and Barbara Gritzmaker and her husband Duane of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren, Brian Gritzmaker and wife, Nicole, Shelli Underhill and husband, Jason, Eric Pleiman and wife, Stephanie, Jennifer Toland and husband, James; and three great grandchildren, Toby and Jana Underhill and Christopher Gritzmaker.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2000 S. Lemay, at 11 a.m. on Friday. Pastor Michael Stadtmueller and Pastor Tim Stadem will officiate at the service.
