Helen Olson Novak Gleason
July 16, 1913 ~ April 22, 2012
Helen Olson Novak Gleason of Loveland CO died April 22, 2012 of natural causes. Helen's life is an American story, tossed by the events of her century. She was born July 16, 1913 in Sweetwater, NE to Francis Hetrick and Theodore Wilhelm Olson, a Norwegian immigrant. Helen was the oldest of six children and the longest living of her siblings.
Helen's formal education ended at age 16 when she married William Novak in 1930 in Phoenix, AZ. Helen moved to IL on her own with two children in 1939. As a single parent, Helen worked as a housekeeper and then became the manager of the National Tea Store in Westmont IL from 1942-1947. She was an assistant cashier at the bank of Westmont from 1947-1952 and then at the 1st National Bank of La Grange from 1952-1972. She married Clyde K. Gleason March 17, 1962. By 1972 both Gleason's had retired and moved to Loveland CO, returning back to Westmont IL briefly and finally settling in Loveland CO in 1975.
From 1976 - 1981 she volunteered at the McKee Medical Center. Helen was an active member of the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church starting in 1976 and joined the choir in 1985. She enjoyed singing in the choir and frequently sang solos. One of her all time favorites was "His Eye is on the Sparrow". Helen was also an active member of the Loveland Rhythm Singers which gave her great joy.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry Sherman of Loveland; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde K. Gleason, and children Dorothy Jane and Donald Novak.

Gary Earl Christiansen
October 4, 1956 ~ April 23, 2012
Gary Earl Christiansen of Loveland, CO passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at his residence.
Services will be 1:00 pm Friday at Crossroads Church in Loveland. The Rev. Dennis Anderson will officiate. A burial memorial will be held at the Estes Park YMCA on Saturday at 10:00 am.
Gary Earl Christiansen was born October 4th, 1956 in Casper WY to Earl Edward Christiansen and Lora Lucille Christiansen.
Gary spent four yrs in the U.S. Navy; he worked for several years for his father at the Riverton Glass Shop and also for his cousin at R&L; Glass in Riverton; he worked in utilities and maintenance for the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO for many years. At the time of his death he was employed as the lead custodian for Thompson School District in Loveland, CO.
On October 9, 2010 Gary married the love of his life, Daphne Miller-Christiansen at the Estes Park YMCA Outdoor Chapel.
Gary was an avid fisherman who loved hunting, camping, traveling and the outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Gary's love of the outdoors had him creating beautiful landscapes at his home and Estes Park YMCA.
He is survived by his wife Daphne, step-sons Evan Van Der Vliet, and Allen Van Der Vliet (Shaundra Stein and step grandson Lane) His sisters; Donna and husband Larry McMichael and Sharon McGurn and Tony Dick. Nieces Keri Homan, Jennifer Springer, Keith, Sandra and Brianna Brown. Jessica McGurn and nephew Jared McMichael. His best friend Richard and Heather McGurn. Brother in laws Bryon Miller and Daniel and his wife Dee Miller and his father and mother in law Don and Pat Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Lucille Christiansen, his grandparents Rasmus Christiansen and Etta Coyle Christiansen Sims; Aldin Reynolds and Ethel Reynolds Mankin; and his faithful dog Cheyenne.
May he find the peace now that he strived for here on earth. Forever a friend forever remembered.

Edward F. Johnson
July 21, 1927 - April 21, 2012
Edward F. Johnson, 84, of Johnstown passed away April 21, 2012 at Life Care Center of Longmont after a brave battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born to Edward P. M. and Marjorie (Mason) Johnson on July 21, 1927 in Detroit, MI, Edward moved to Los Angeles, CA at an early age.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during WWII, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 13, 1945. He then attended the University of Southern California, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Edward enlisted in the U.S. Army on Sept 1, 1950, remained on active duty through June 8, 1952, and then served with the U.S. Army Reserves until March of 1964. He attained the rank of Captain.
Edward married Joan Smith (now deceased) in 1950. They divorced in 1972. He married Jean Arnold Crowder, whom he met at Golden West Retirement Community in Boulder, CO, in 2004. The couple moved to Johnstown in 2006.
Edward was an Engineer for Pacific Bell Telephone Company for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
Of Presbyterian faith, Edward attended weekly bible study sessions. A man of many interests, with a particular devotion to antique cars, he was a Life Member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, a Life Member, Ambassador and President from 1999 to 2003 of the Horseless Carriage Foundation Inc. and current member of the Columbine Horseless Carriage Club of Northeast Colorado. He was also interested in investigating his family history and created many memory books for family members. He was always a gentleman; loving father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather, and kind to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by great-grandchild Aleana Johnson.
Edward is survived by his wife Jean, of Johnstown, CO; a son, Scott Johnson (wife Bonnie) of Beaumont, CA; a daughter, Karen Daly (husband Malcolm) of Boulder, CO; a half-brother, Kenneth Johnson (wife Cynthia) of Mount Kisco, NY; a half-sister, Patricia Kwartler (husband Anatol) of Silver Lake, Ohio. He also leaves four grandchildren; Erica Findley (husband Kevin), Howell Johnson (wife Christy), Mason Daly and Kitt Daly; step-grandchildren; Stephanie D'Angelo, Julia D'Angelo and Trevor James, and four great-grandchildren; Destiny, Ashton, Amirah and Jinia Johnson.

Ronald "Ron" Minto
September 9, 1941 - April 24, 2012
Ronald Elmer Minto aka “Ron The Faithful Navigator”, 71, of Loveland died April 24, 2012 at the Veteran's Medical Center in Cheyenne, WY. He was born September 9, 1941 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Clara Minto Marten and Ardell Marten.
Ron served as a meteorologist in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 - 1964. He was 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Ron enjoyed hunting and was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Ron is survived by his mother Clara Marten; daughters Bernadette “Didi” Stanton, Teresa Siman and Valerie Minto; brother Keith Minto; sister Ranae Williams; granddaughter Nadianna Minto; nephews Mike Minto and Todd Loomis; niece Gina Blanton; and the mother of his three daughters Ramona Minto.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 28th, 2012, 9:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A rosary will be held Friday evening, 6:00 P.M., at Viegut Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery (east side of hwy 34) in Loveland.

September 11, 1924 ~ April 26, 2012
Emma Elizabeth Moser was born September 11, 1924 and passed away April 26, 2012 at her home in Greeley, Colorado. She was preceded by her husband Jean Walton Moser, June 3, 1985. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank L. Cox, one granddaughter, Wendy Lynn Burleigh, as well as 5 siblings.
Emma is survived by her three daughters: Catherine Moser DeValcourt and husband Bill of Sunset, Louisiana; Deborah Moser Burleigh and husband Raymond of Lafayette, Louisiana; and Tracy Moser Wilson and husband Larry of Greeley, Colorado, and 1 sister, Nadine Cox Moser and husband Bill of Amarillo, Texas. Emma leaves behind 2 grandsons: Jack W. Burleigh (on active duty in Kuwait) and wife Ivy of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dane L. DeValcourt and wife Nicole of Lafayette, Louisiana; 5 granddaughters: Kristie Gayle Burleigh of Baltimore, Maryland; Dawn DeValcourt Knight (Denney) of Carencro, Louisiana; Stacey Lynn Burleigh of Washington D.C.; Elizabeth Jean Wilson of Greeley, Colorado; and Jean Elizabeth Burleigh of Washington D.C.. Emma also has 6 great grandchildren: Jonathan Burleigh of Las Vegas, Nevada; Joshua Burleigh of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brooke DeValcourt of Lafayette, Louisiana; Kylie Ann Burleigh of Washington D.C.; Kennadi Grace Knight of Carencro, Louisiana; and Kiptyn Ryan Knight of Carencro, Louisiana.
Emma was well loved and respected by everyone who met her. We, her family and friends, will miss her dearly, but know that someday we will all be together again.
A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00a.m., at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
John B. Watts
October 5, 1936 - April 24, 2012
John B. Watts, 75 of Loveland, Colorado passed away April 24, 2012. He was born October 5, 1936 in Hamlin, NY. He graduated High School from Brockport, NY. He married Helen W. Koss in 1959 in Elizabeth Town, KY. He lived in Hamlin, NY until moving to Loveland in 1971. He worked at Eastman Kodak. He loved his family, friends, watching his grandkids sporting events, playing golf, spending time at his cabin in the mountains, and watching sports. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his daughter, Susan Berryman, his parents John and Bea (Hughes) Watts, and his sister Patricia W. Hutchison, He is survived by his son, Dan Watts (Lori) Windsor; and daughter, Julie Wertsbaugh (Ken) Hillsboro, OH. 6 grandchildren; Dana, Sarah, Shelby, Colton, Lucas, Zachary; 3 great-grandchildren, Bailey, Austin, and Reagan.
Memorial services Wednesday, May 2, 2012, 11:00 A.M., Viegut Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Loveland Burial Park at a later date. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Norma Louise (Bath) Mohrlang
September 17, 1927 - April 26, 2012
Norma Louise (Bath) Mohrlang, 84, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2012, in Pueblo, Colo. She is now with her youngest son, Gary Mohrlang; grandson, Jonathan Mohrlang; and the love of her life, her husband, Raymond Mohrlang, who passed away February 28, 1987. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mollie Bath; siblings, Lucille Bath, Orlene Croissant, Marian Wagner and A. Wayne Bath; and son-in-law, George Trotter.
Norma was born on September 17, 1927, in Loveland. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1945, and worked throughout her life as a telephone/PBX operator and as a loving homemaker. She married Raymond Mohrlang on April 18, 1948. They moved to Pueblo in 1952, where they raised their three children, Ramona, Raymond Jr. and Gary. Norma is survived by her daughter, Ramona Trotter; son, Raymond (Constance) Mohrlang; daughter-in-law, Marla Mohrlang; sister, Donna (Ken) Jurgens; brother, Harry (Eileen) Bath; sisters-in-law, Reiko Bath and Billie Mohrlang; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norma loved her children and grandchildren, grand "pets, " her garden, bowling, and the Denver Broncos. A very special thank you goes out to her longtime physician, Dr. Harry Keefe, whose caring and compassion went above and beyond over the many years she was his patient.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Loveland Burial Park. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made in Norma's memory to PAWS for Life Shelter, P.O. Box 11208, Pueblo, CO 81001.
Mark O'Connor
October 2, 1954 - April 26, 2012
Mark "Markie" Steven O'Connor, 57, of Loveland passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday April 26th, 2012, after a courageous six month battle with cancer. He was granted his angel wings this day. Mark was born October 2nd, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN to Frank Elliott and Frances Rosener. He graduated in 1972 from Platteville High School in Platteville WI, and later attended Larimer County Community College. Mark went on to work for Colorado Steel & Wire and in the manufacturing and shipping industries. Mark's passion was riding his Harley. He also loved to shoot pool; he was an incredible pool player. The great outdoors was the place he liked to be. Mark is survived by his wife, Tracy O'Connor; daughters Dallas DeSaire and Bailey O'Connor; grandson Jackson DeSaire; brothers Jerry (Myrtle) Warrington and Guy (Barb) O'Connor; nephews, nieces, friends and dog, Oggie. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Frances Elliott; adoptive parents John and Josephine O'Connor; son Travis O'Connor; brother James Elliott; sister Lois Overby, and dog, Butch. Debbie Elaine Bratten
April 18, 1960 - April 27, 2012
Debbie Elaine Bratten, 52, of Loveland passed away peacefully April 27th 2012 at Mckee Medical Center.
Born April 18th 1960 to Alfred Clark and Edith (Alexander) Clark, at her childhood home in Loveland, Debbie called herself a true native. She was the youngest of eleven children, Dwight & Sue Clark, of Wellington, CO; Janice & Gerald Thompson, of Sheridan, IL; Duane Clark, of Gothenburg, NE; Floyd & Susie Clark, of Loveland, CO; Alice & Paul Kennedy, of Granite City, IL; Diane & Brian Cottrell, of Litchfield Park, AZ; Kathy & Lynn Hardy, of Wheatridge, Co; Susan & Mike Zimmer, of Loveland, CO; Robert & Sue Clark, of Castle Rock, CO; Richard & Szuson Clark, of Albuquerque, NM.
She was a 1978 graduate of Thompson Valley High School and a 1979 graduate of the Bernel Hairstyling College in Fort Collins for cosmetology.
On Aug. 23rd 1980, Debbie married her high school sweetheart Matt L. Bratten, also from Loveland, the ceremony was held at Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland.
Debbie had worked for Fashion Aire Beauty Salon, DeRussy Bridal Salon as a bridal coordinator and at American Bank (now Home State Bank) as a banker. Oct. 30th 1987 she had her first child Erika N. Bratten, and on Oct 23rd 1989 she had her second child Travis M. Bratten. When her children were born she dedicated herself as a stay home mom/ homemaker.
Debbie enjoyed sewing, decorating, creating a variety of crafts, photography, baking numerous goodies, driving her little red convertible, and most of all being a wife and a mother.
Oct 6th 2006, Debbie suffered from meningitis which resulted in a coma that began an uphill battle for her health. Being a suborn tough cookie, she managed to fight through much pain and survived another six years where she was able to see her daughter graduate from college and her son Travis graduate from high school as well as college.
She loved to travel when she could; claiming her most memorable and favorite trips were to Hawaii and Canada, along with many various locations throughout the states. She volunteered on numerous occasions with her children's schools including Mary Blair Elementary, Van Buren Elementary, and Loveland High School events. She also was a Girl Scout cookie mom for several years.
She volunteered many hours to the Loveland Volunteer Fire Department as a decorator for the new fire stations #4, #5, & #6. She also helped cordite many events for the department.
Debbie's laughter was bright and soulful. Her love will be missed.
A memorial celebration will be held Thursday May 3rd, at 11:00 am. Please come in casual Spring attire.
In lieu of flowers any memorial contributions will be given to Sierra's Race Against Meningitis.

Robin Lynn Harris

Robin L. Harris of Loveland died April 28th 2012 at Exempla Lutheran Hospice in Wheat Ridge, CO. Born December 7, 1943 in Greenwood, Arkansas.
Robin is survived by his wife Karetta Harris of Loveland; mother Alzia Clifton of Edgewater, CO; sisters Patricia Delgado of Phoenix, AZ Shirley Jean Guilfoy of New Jersey, and Cynthia AuWerter of Edgewater, CO; 5 nephews; and a niece.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Harris.

Clifford L. DeLude
April 3, 1929 to April 27, 2012
Clifford L. DeLude, 83, formerly of Loveland passed away on April 27, 2012 at his home in Fort Collins. He was born on April 3, 1929 in Tonganoxie, Kansas to Roland and Goldie (Headley) DeLude. He grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas. Cliff was a graduate from the University of Kansas with a degree in music and from Purdue University with a Masters Degree in engineering. He married Carol Ann Mortlock on December 29, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN. She preceded him in death on September 14, 1985. Cliff had lived in Loveland since 1963 and worked as an Engineer for Hewlett Packard in both Loveland and Fort Collins for 35 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland as well as Blessed John the XXIII University Parish in Fort Collins. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, walking, skiing and traveling. Cliff is survived by his children: David DeLude and wife Min of Aptos, California, Steve DeLude and wife Laura of Fort Collins, Greg DeLude of Fort Collins and Nora Neville and husband David of Bellvue; his sister Frances Cassell and her husband Bill, of Pleasanton, CA; and his grandchildren: Daniel DeLude, Justin DeLude, Sam DeLude, Teghan DeLude, Caeley Neville, and Carly DeLude. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00am Friday, May 4, 2012 at Allnutt Funeral Service. Inurnment at Loveland Burial Park. Elsie Edna Meyer (Pointer)
November 16, 1917 - April 28, 2012
Elsie Edna Meyer (Pointer), 94, of Fort Collins passed away on April 28, 2012, at Spring Creek Health Care Center in Fort Collins, CO.
Elsie was born in Williamstown, MO, on November 16, 1917, to William E. and Della (DeWitt) Brown. Elsie married Harry E. Pointer on June 11, 1935 in Memphis, MO and they moved to Loveland, CO in 1938. She later married Harold H. Meyer in Loveland on June 21, 1975.
After moving to Colorado, Elsie worked as a waitress at several local restaurants. She worked at North Shore Manor nursing home in Loveland for approximately 20 years and later retired from Colorado State University food services in 1984.
As a child, Elsie played the guitar and sang in church and school. She became a member of the Rebekah lodge in Loveland. Elsie loved to dance, play solitaire, watch Western movies on television and enjoyed watching soap operas with her sisters in Loveland. She always wanted more for her children than she had growing up. Family gatherings where she could spend time with her family were important to her.
Elsie is survived by sons Larry Pointer (Jan) of Aurora, David Pointer (Dawn) of Greeley; daughters Nina Krumtum of Fulton, TX, Nelda Burch and Linda Buderus (Bob) both of Fort Collins; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Fern Orback of Longmont.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son, one daughter, three brothers and six sisters. The family would like to thank the Spring Creek Health Center staff for the loving care they provided to Elsie during her stay there.

Edgar Allen Chapman
March 1, 1937 ~ April 30, 2012
Edgar Allen Chapman of Loveland, CO passed away peacefully at home Monday, April 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
Ed was born in Denver, CO, and moved around quite often while he was young. He spent much of his later childhood in Colorado Springs. Ed helped support his family by driving a Coke truck at the age of 15 and he later enlisted in the United States Air Force. Ed was very proud of his service to his country. While stationed in Charleston, SC, he repaired aircraft radio systems, which led to his interest in flying. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Ed pursued his passion for flying by obtaining his private pilot's license. He continued on by earning his instrument rating, and later became a flight instructor.
In 1962, Ed began a career with National Cash Register (NCR Corporation), and worked there until he retired in 1994. During his career, Ed's job required him to change with the times. He began by repairing manual cash registers and as technology improved, he learned to service automated teller machines. During the transition, Ed made many trips to Dayton, Ohio for training. Both of his boys flew to Dayton to meet their dad and bonded during the car trip back to Colorado. It was a very enjoyable experience for both boys. Following his retirement from NCR, Ed sold real estate for a short time, but felt that he belonged back in the repair industry. He returned to work servicing gaming machines in Colorado mountain towns.
Ed loved spending time with his family at home and away. They look back fondly on many summers spent RV camping, waterskiing, and traveling around the country. Recently, he traveled further from home exploring European locations, and cruising the Atlantic and Pacific oceans as well as the Alaskan shoreline. While at home, Ed kept busy with woodworking, and had an extensive collection of power tools. He enjoyed tinkering with any electronic gadgets, and spending time on the computer. In what free time he had left, Ed enjoyed brewing beer and making wine. Ed also sang in the Valentine City Chorus and participated in several barbershop competitions throughout the region.
Ed was a longtime member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church. He served as Deacon, usher, and spent many years on the audio/visual team.
Ed is survived by his wife, Susan, sister Betty Cooper of Greeley, daughters Francine Chapman of Fort Collins and Sandra (Chapman) Brick and husband Steve of West Allis, WI, sons Randy Chapman and wife Gina of Simi Valley, CA, Daniel Chapman and wife Amber of Johnstown; grandsons Dustin, John, Jacob, and Dylan, as well as a broad extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Lucy Newell, with whom he had a very special relationship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Presbyterian Church or Pathways Hospice. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, Friday, May 4th at 10:30 A.M.
