WRIGGLESWORTH, Frank L.

Frank L. Wrigglesworth, 87, of Eau Claire, Wis., formerly from Longmont, passed away at his home on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004. Frank attended and graduated from Eau Claire schools, where he was an outstanding athlete, lettering all four years in basketball, football and track.
Wrig, as he was known, coached and taught at Washburn High School, Washburn, Wis., from 1940 to 1941 until he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps as a flying cadet. He graduated from basic flying school at Randolph Field and advanced flying school at Brooks Field, both in Texas.
Lt. Wrigglesworth married Geraldine L. Woodford on Feb. 20, 1942, at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. They spent 25 years as an U.S. Air Force family. Wrig spent time in Alaska, Canada, the Aleutians and Korea and at many stateside bases. He was assigned to the First Tactical B-52 group at Loring Air Force Base in Maine. He flew many types of both reciprocal and jet aircraft; he was a command pilot. Frank retired in 1963 from the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
After completing his masters degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, he joined his mentor and high school coach, Ade Olson, at UW-Eau Claire. He was the backfield coach at UW-Eau Claire until 1975, when he took over as head golf coach. He was also the head baseball coach for seven years.
Wrig was an assistant freshman football coach at UW-Madison on two occasions, once while teaching Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and one year while in graduate school. He also activated the AFROTC program at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.; he was an assistant football coach there for three years.
Wrig was inducted into the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Hall of Fame in 1985 and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes District 14 Hall of Fame in 1990.
The highlight of his teaching career at UW-Eau Claire was the experience of working with the thousands of students he taught in the lifetime sports of golf, downhill skiing and cross country skiing.
Wrigs Blugold teams won their way to national competition in golf many times, and he, himself, was an accomplished golfer.
He and his wife, Geri, were very active throughout their lives, enjoying not only golf and skiing but also square and round dancing, physical fitness activities and many social activities.
Frank will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren, and many relatives and friends throughout the area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geri, in 1998; his parents; a brother, Bill; and a sister, Betty.
Frank is survived by three daughters, Gayle L. Pulley and her husband A. M. Pulley Jr. of Lafayette, Calif., Nancy W. Lee of Boulder, and Jodi W. Carlson and her husband Rod of Longmont; six grandchildren, Amy Lee Olson and her husband Tony of Madison, Joel Don Lee of Aspen, Colo., Jeffrey Marshall Pulley and his wife Amanda of Rio Vista, Calif., Tiffany Blake Sloan and her husband Brock of Beaver Creek, Colo., Whitney Reed Carlson of Fort Collins and Taylor Blake Carlson of Longmont; and a great-grandchild, Cooper Bennett Olson of Madison.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at St. Patricks Catholic Parish, Eau Claire, with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, where American Legion Post No. 53 will conduct military rites. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

BEAM, Robert A. 'Bob'

Robert A. 'Bob' Beam of Longmont died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at his home. He was 80.
He was born Dec. 10, 1924, in San Jose, Calif., to Gus and Louise (Aiassa) Sferlas.
He attended Santa Clara University and the University of Guam.
Mr. Beam served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.
He married Lordes Soto Dec. 22, 1946, in Santa Clara, Calif.
Mr. Beam moved to Boulder in 1998 from Oregon and to Longmont in 1999.
He owned and operated Robert A. Beam, Land Surveyor and was a land surveyor in California and Guam, retiring in 1993.
Mr. Beam was of the Catholic faith and a former member of the Square Dance Club, the Elks Club and the California Land Surveyors Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, handball, square dancing and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, David L. Beam.
Mr. Beam is survived by his wife of Longmont; a son, Michael J. Beam and his wife Catherine of Guam; three daughters, Roberta Brunson and her husband Daniel of Boulder, Geri Oliveira and her husband Jim of Boulder and Lisa Lewis and her husband Curt of Longmont; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Gary Michael Mike Degge of Firestone died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, in Central City. He was 56.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1948, in Boulder to William Warren and Laura Louise (Winn) Degge.
Mr. Degge was a descendant of three Colorado pioneer families, the Winns, Fulharts and Degges. A graduate of Boulder High School, he attended Western State College and later the University of Colorado.
He was on the board of directors of Boulder Land, Irrigation & Power Co. for more than 25 years and the board of directors of Venir Mining Company from 1976 until his death.
On Jan. 11, 1981, Mike married Millie Lind Losh in Las Vegas.
Mr. Degge owned and operated The Paving Company with his family in Firestone. He later became a real estate broker. Mr. Degge ran Valley Real Estate Sales & Appraisal, for 18 years and was a member of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers.
A member of the Firestone board of trustees from 1988 to 2002, he will be remembered for his fiery personality and for how he fought for his community.
Mr. Degge enjoyed genealogy and visited many Southern states and traveled to England for his research.
Mr. Degge was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of Firestone; two sons, Tim Losh and Jerry Losh and his wife Korina; two daughters, Barb Losh and her husband Dan OMary and Sharon Krause; a brother William Degge; three sisters, Judy Joles, Linda Peashka and Pat Dunkerson; and seven grandchildren, Jared, Eric, Brandon, Taylor, Dylan, Danielle and Alyssa.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Howe Mortuary.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Ray Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Erie.

GROSSMAN, Carol L.

Carol L. Grossman of Longmont died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at her home. She was 70.
She was born May 26, 1934, in Oshkosh, Wis., to Frank and Lucile (Fenicle) Raymond.
She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1952 in Spring Valley, Minn.
She married Robert Uhrich in 1953 and they divorced. She married Joel Grossman Sept. 8, 1991, in Nederland, Colo.
She moved to Boulder in 1979. She then moved to Nederland in 1991 and in 1996 moved to Longmont.
She was the founder and owner of the Used Book Emporium in Longmont, retiring in 2002.
She attended Unity of Boulder Church and enjoyed reading, hiking and airplanes.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of Longmont; two sons, Michael Uhrich and his wife Mary of St. Louis and David Uhrich and his wife Toni of Wauwatosa, Wis.; two daughters, Linda Uhrich of Longmont and Debbie Karle and her husband Rick of Longmont; a brother, Dean Raymond and his wife Charlotte of Round Lake Park, Ill.; a sister, Joyce Vossekuil of Fond du Lac, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Fucik, Elyssa Karle, Britni Uhrich, Kyle Uhrich, Mitch Lindsey, Steffen Uhrich and CeCe Uhrich; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. A reception will be held following services at the Used Book Emporium, 346 Main St. in Longmont. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. JULIAN, Edythe
April 26, 1939 - Dec. 26, 2004
Edythe Marie Julian of Firestone died at her home Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004. She was 65.
She was born on April 26, 1939, in Carl Junction, Mo., to Harold Joseph and Mildred Margaret (Keehler) Oxley. She grew up and attended school in Detroit but traveled back to Missouri for periods of time.
She married Albert James Julian on June 6, 1958, in Miami, Okla.
Mrs. Julian held many different jobs throughout her working career. She was a bartender at a number of different places, but more recently was the manager for a video rental business.
She enjoyed quilting and sewing and made many items for friends and family members. She also liked reading, going to car races and watching the Rockies play baseball. Mrs. Julian enjoyed going places, taking road trips and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two children, Gladys Elaine Julian and Patricia Gail Zirkel; and two brothers.
Mrs. Julian is survived by four daughters, Terri Lynn Julian and her fiancé Scott Martin of Dacono, Felicia Ann Otis of Commerce City, Susan M. Campbell and her husband Don of Milliken and Lottie Jean McQuerry of Montrose, Colo; eight brothers; and five sisters.
A celebration of Mrs. Julians life will be held at Tri-Town Lions Club, Highway 52 and Eighth St., Dacono, on Thursday, Dec. 30, at 5:30 p.m. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Howe Mortuary of Longmont.

LECHMAN, James
Nov. 12, 1928 - Dec. 23, 2004
James 'Jim' Lechman of Longmont died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at his home. He was 76.
He was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Sterling, Colo., to Anthony and Clara (Mari) Lechman.
He married Betty Ann Seewald on Nov. 25, 1950, in Longmont.
Mr. Lechman grew up near Sedgwick, Colo., and graduated from high school in Merino. While in high school, he earned the nickname Bouncer when he played basketball.
He purchased a farm, which he operated until 1972, east of Union Reservoir after working on farms east of Longmont and near Rinn for several years. In 1972, he moved to Longmont and worked for Beauprez Realty as an agent and later as a broker. After that, he joined with other investors to form The Brokers agency and worked until 1994. At the time, he also worked for the Rough and Ready Ditch Co. as a ditch rider.
Mr. Lechman was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a Past Grand Knight and held several ranks within the organization.
He was passionate about playing golf and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Throughout his life, he also enjoyed raising and caring for animals.
Mr. Lechman was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Lechman.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Anthony Lechman and his wife Verneta of Longmont; a daughter, Lynn Greenhalge and her husband Scott of Longmont; three grandchildren, Greg Greenhalge and Mariah and Nicole Lechman; four brothers, Leo and his wife Rosemary of Sterling, Larry and his wife Duchess of Sedgwick, John of Sedgwick and Ed of Denver; five sisters, Polly Gescgwentner of Sun City, Ariz., Jen and her husband George Jenik of Sedgwick, Helen Geschwentner of Denver, Florence Usechek and her husband Steve of Denver, and Marie Stang and her husband Ed of Albuquerque, N.M.; and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, at Howe Mortuary, with a vigil service to follow at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mickey Flaska officiating. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory.

MACIE, David R.
May 25, 1962 - Dec. 20, 2004
David R. Macie of Frederick died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in Lakewood. He was 42.
He was born May 25, 1962, in Wayne, Mich., to Edward R. and Eileen (Earle) Macie.
Mr. Macie served in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1983.
He was a machinist and musician.
Mr. Macie moved to Frederick from Michigan in 2004.
He enjoyed fishing, radio-controlled cars and trucks and music, especially playing drums and guitar.
Mr. Macie is survived by his parents of Michigan; four sisters, Michelle Bezesky and her husband Al of Frederick, Lori Macie and Rob Taylor of Wheatridge; Donna Macie of Lakewood and Toni Johnson and her husband Kenny of Michigan; seven nieces and nephews; and his significant other, Dania Nucilli.
No local services are scheduled. Cremation will take place at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. A memorial service will be held a later in Michigan.
MOLLER, Warren
Oct. 7, 1926 - Dec. 26, 2004
Warren Leland Moller of Longmont died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at Applewood Living Center. He was 78.
Mr. Moller was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Carroll, Iowa, to Hans William and Matilda (Holstien) Moller. He grew up in Glidden, Iowa, and graduated from Glidden High School in 1942. He later earned a degree in agriculture and horticulture from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
He married Ruth M. Wenck on Aug. 5, 1956, in Lidderdale, Iowa. The couple made their home near Mora, Minn., where they owned and operated a dairy farm. From 1964 to 1976 the Mollers lived in Jefferson, Iowa. A love of Colorado brought them to Boulder in 1976 where they lived for 18 years. Mr. Moller worked for several years as a radiation monitor at Rocky Flats, retiring in 1994. The Mollers briefly moved to Mundelein, Ill., before returning to Colorado in 2001.
Mr. Moller enjoyed studying financial markets, reading and sightseeing throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. He was also active in the churches he attended, including 18 years at the Mount Hope Lutheran Church in Boulder.
He is survived by his wife of Longmont; two sons, Martin Moller and his wife Kathryn of Durango and Lyndon Moller and his wife Dawn of Longmont; a granddaughter, Sienna of Durango; and two grandsons, Lyndon, Jr. and Zachary of Longmont.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Howe Mortuary, Longmont. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Longmont. The Rev. Kent Schnegelberger will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
