BEAVER, S. Eris

Eris S. Beaver of Denver died at the Jewell Assisted Living Center in Denver on Monday, Nov. 1, 2004. She was 97.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1907, in Gove County, Kan., to Nels L. and Blanche G. (Maxwell) Nelson.
She married Hollis Lafayette Beaver on Jan. 12, 1928, in Dodge City, Kan.
Mrs. Beaver was a homemaker most of her life but was also involved in other life pursuits. She worked with her husband in his building business doing the bookkeeping and drawing up blueprints. She also was a clerk for an Army-Air Force organization during World War II, and in her later years, was an avid bridge player, teaching the game and directing clubs for bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Jesse Nelson; and three sisters, Nellie Gimple, Daphne Holliman and Lennie Nerland.
Mrs. Beaver is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including Lynda Rae Nelson of Denver, Bonnie Manion of Longmont and Nadine Holliman of Denver; and other relatives.
A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. The Rev. Chris Carr of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Cremation arrangements have been made with Howe Mortuary of Longmont.

BOLTON, Ronald R.
Aug. 15, 1929 - Nov. 5, 2004
Ronald R. Bolton Sr. of Berthoud went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at the Berthoud Living Center; he was 75.
He was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Winn Parrish, La., to Charlie and Hazel (Porter) Bolton.
He married Julia Sanders on Nov. 25, 1947.
Mr. Bolton was a Commander in the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps. He retired from the service in 1978 after 32 years of active duty with tours in Korea and Vietnam.
Ron lived his Christian faith through continuous service at his church, an extended missionary term at a Baptist Hospital in India, complete devotion to his wife of 57 years and family and finally through his gracious, courageous, faith-filled trial in his illness of the last three years. He enjoyed working with wood, hunting, fishing, reading, re-modeling and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Bolton of Berthoud; sons Ron Bolton Jr. and wife Diana of Berthoud; daughters Cynthia Attebury and husband Vic of Pine, Ariz., Barbara Kellenbarger and husband Michael of San Marcos, Calif., Linda Schielp and husband Dennis of Carlsbad, Calif.; brothers Barry Bolton of Benton, La.; Gerald Bolton and wife Frances of Atlanta, La.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law Louis Sanders and Bob Sanders.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Longmont and 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel, Oceanside, Calif.
Interment at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside with full military honors.

CROSKEY, Harold
June 6, 1923 - Nov. 3, 2004
Harold Croskey of Longmont died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at his home. He was 81.
He was born June 6, 1923, in Glenmont, Ohio, to Cameron Jennings and Vera (Kerr) Croskey.
He married Beverly Pearson June 11, 1944, in Council Grove Kan. She preceded him in death Nov. 16, 1983. He then married Mary Anne Owen on April 20, 1985, in Estes Park.
He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged Dec. 10, 1946. He continued his service with the U.S. Army Reserves, the Kansas National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
He was an aerospace technician for Beech Aircraft, working in Wichita, Kan., and Harrington, Kan., and then the Boulder facility until his retirement in 1986. He was involved in numerous NASA projects and received recognition for his participation and contributions.
He came to Longmont in March 1961 from Kansas.
He was a member of the Lodge 36 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and Old Mission No. 178 Order of Eastern Star in Council Grove; the Colorado Consistory No. 1, and The Longmont Shrine Club of El Jebel Temple.
He was a member of LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; his second wife; and three brothers, Richard, Don and Robert Dale Croskey.
He is survived by a brother, John Wesley Croskey of Ohio; a sister, Lorna Jean Shy of Ohio; and his caregiver, Sarah Archuleta of Longmont.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Foothills Gardens of Memory with David Bradshaw of LifeBridge Christian Church officiating. Military honors will be provided by Fort Carson Army Honor Guard and Longs Peak Post 2601, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
GARDONIA, Bobby Willis
Sept. 6, 1930 - Nov. 4, 2004
Bobby W. Gardonia of Aurora, formerly of Longmont, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Colorado State Veterans Home at Fitzsimons in Aurora from diabetic complications. He was 74.
He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan.
Bobby proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. President Jackson. He was honorably discharged Sept. 6, 1951, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a Railroad Switchman for Union Pacific Railroad after his discharge.
He lived in Kansas City, Mo., until 1994 when he moved to Longmont.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Regina of Independence, Mo.; two sons, Kenneth Gardonia and his wife Denise of Blue Springs, Mo., and Gary Gardonia of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Paula Malleck and her husband Terry of Longmont, Donna Sands and her husband Carl of Mesa, Ariz., and Mary Sommer and her husband Ulrich of Clearwater, Fla; a brother, Ray Meek and his wife Carolyn of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Kathleen Bain of Independence, Mo., and Audrey Gardoni of Arlington, Va.; seven grandchildren, Cynthia and Andrea Malleck of Longmont, Phillip Wilkerson and his wife Stephane of Benton Harbor, Mich., Jason Wilkerson and his wife Michelle of Kalamazoo, Mich., Andrew and Daniel Gardonia of Blue Springs, Mo., and Jacob Gardonia of Kansas City, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Logan and Catelyn Wilkerson of Benton Harbor, Mich., and Machaela Wilkerson of Kalamazoo.
Private services will be held. Interment Fort Logan National Cemetery 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, Staging Area C, Denver. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals On Wheels and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont 80501.
HAYES, Warren S. 'Pop'
Jan. 29, 1924 - Oct. 20, 2004
Warren S. 'Pop' Hayes of Lyons died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Ariz. He was 80.
Mr. Hayes was born Jan. 29, 1924, at the Hayes Farm in Ramsey, Ill., and attended elementary and high school in Springfield, Ill. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served as a bombardier and gunner aboard B-17 Flying Fortresses with the 379th Bomb Group, stationed at Kimbolton, England.
After World War II, he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. He re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 27 years in the military with the rank of colonel.
He married LaVerne Holley in Waco, Texas, on March 6, 1944. After retirement from the military in 1969, Mr. and Mrs. Hayes made their home in the mountains northwest of Lyons, an area he loved. They spent winters in Yuma for 24 years.
Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife; two daughters, Sandra Hayes, and Pamela and her husband Mike Dusek, all of Yuma; a granddaughter, Heather and her husband Roy Krakat of Baltimore; six grandsons, Matthew and his wife Tracy Dusek of Yuma, Joel Dusek and his wife Cherie of Denver, and Timothy Dusek and his wife Heidi, Nathan Dusek and his wife Amy, Mark Dusek and Seth Dusek, all of Yuma; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Hayes and his wife Mary; and a nephew, Craig Hayes of Springfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 24, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Yuma, with the Rev. Earl Bielefeld officiating. A graveside committal service was held immediately following at Sunset Vista Cemetery in Yuma, conducted by Mr. Hayes son-in-law, the Rev. Michael C. Dusek, and accompanied by a military honor guard from Luke Air Force Base of Glendale, Ariz.
Pallbearers were Mr. Hayes six grandsons. Honorary pallbearers included Larry and Craig Hayes, Noel Dusek, Roy Krakat and Micah Huska.
HESTER, Dorothy H.
HESTER, Dorothy H., 87, of Longmont passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Wide Horizons in Wheat Ridge. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial services will be held later in the month, arrangements will appear at that time.
JACOBS, Mildred Nell
June 8, 1937 - Nov. 2, 2004
Mildred Nell Jacobs of Longmont died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, of emphysema. She was 67.
She was born June 8, 1937, to William A. and Jimmie M. (Hughs) Colvin in Newitt, Ark.
She married Virgil Jacobs on Dec. 14, 1953 in Salom, Ark.
She had lived in Boulder County since 1997.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Patricia R. Kudlacz; and a grandson, Sean M. Burke.
She is survived by her husband of Longmont; three daughters, Virginia Kudlacz and Terry Wiley of Longmont and Tina Burke of Keystone; a son, Ervon Jacobs of El Cajon, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. No local services are scheduled.

MAY, Candace K. 'Candy'

Candace K. 'Candy' May of Mead died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties Care Center in Louisville. She was 55.
She was born March 6, 1949, in Minneapolis to Claude and Gertrude (Wells) Lamb.
She married Andrew L. May on Oct. 7, 1967, in Osseo, Minn.
Mrs. May moved to Longmont from Minnesota in 1994 and was a test technician for Maxtor in Longmont. She was a member of Faith Community Lutheran Church and B.R.A.V.E.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. May is survived by her husband of Mead; three daughters, Andrea Foster and her husband David of Phoenix, Anna May of Fort Collins and Mary Beth May of Mead; a brother, Bobby Peck and his wife Cathy of Minnesota; two sisters, Yvonne White of Minnesota and Sandy Nesser and her husband Tony of Hawaii; and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Alexis May.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Faith Community Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dan Hansen officiating. Cremation will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

SHELINE, Stanley

Stanley S. Sheline of Longmont died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at his home. He was 54.
He was born June 2, 1950, in Denver, to Lyle and Gloria (Hodges) Sheline. He moved to Longmont as a child with his family.
On Aug. 7, 2004, he married Deborah Dee at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont.
Mr. Sheline was a heavy equipment operator.
He enjoyed fishing, golf, baseball, football, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Sheline will be remembered as a man with a big heart and for his generosity in never hesitating to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Sheline is survived by his wife of Longmont; a son, Paul Sheline and his wife Casey of Oletha, Kan., a daughter, Rachel Gray and her husband Charles of Platteville; a sister, Linda S. OBrien of Longmont; a stepson, Floyd Lovato and his wife Tina; four grandchildren Jamie Gray, Kylie Sheline and Mark and Samantha Lovato; his step-mother, Coleen Sheline of Longmont; two stepbrothers, Don and Leonard Ewy; a stepsister, Leslie Ewy; a niece, Suzanne OBrien; and nephew Michael OBrien.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Bill Dion of First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

CHALUPSKY, Gene Harold
Jan. 8, 1934 - Dec. 2, 2004
Gene Harold Chalupsky of Firestone died suddenly in his home on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004. He was 70.
He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Leo George and Adeline Mae (Benish) Chalupsky. In 1951, he graduated from McKinley High School where he had been active with the Drum and Bugle Corps and the track and field program. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in 1955.
Mr. Chalupsky briefly attended the University of Iowa and continued his life-long love of learning at various workshops, seminars and classes.
On March 14, 1959, he married Joan Marie Wink at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple moved to Dallas in 1962, the Denver area in 1965 and to the Longmont area in the late 1990s.
Mr. Chalupsky had worked for 23 years as an electronics technician for Western Union. He retired in 1990.
He enjoyed working with computers and solving mathematical problems. He also enjoyed bicycle rides, walks and picnics with his family. During his retirement, he had begun to teach himself how to play the piano.
Mr. Chalupsky is survived by his wife of Firestone; a daughter, Debra MacNeil and her husband Kevin of Frederick; a brother, LaVerne Chalupsky and his wife Mary of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; a half-sister, Elaine; two grandsons, Brian and Ian MacNeil; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements have been handled by Howe Mortuary in Longmont. A remembrance open house will be held at the MacNeil residence from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 5934 E. Conservation Drive, Frederick. Private graveside services with military honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.
