LOFTIN, James D.

James D. Loftin of Loveland died of a heart attack Aug. 9, 2004, at McKee Medical Center. He was 33.
He was born April 17, 1971, in Dallas, Texas, to David W. Loftin and Rhonda Harris.
He married Angela Busby on Feb. 16, 1994, in Charleston, S.C. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1997 and had served in the U.S. Navy for two years.
Mr. Loftin was manager for the Sherwin-Williams paint store in Longmont.
He had lived in Colorado for the past 10 years. He loved football and coaching it. He coached eighth-grade teams in Berthoud. He also enjoyed music, the guitar, spoiling his children and Trivial Pursuit.
He is survived by his wife of Loveland; two sons, David Loftin of Loveland and Chris Loftin of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Madison Loftin of Loveland; his father, David Loftin and his wife Donna of Englewood; his mother, Rhonda Roundtree and her husband Bob of Gladewater, Texas; and two great-grandparents, Paul and Judy Harris of Dallas, Texas.
A celebration of his life will be 4 p.m. Friday at the Berthoud High School football field. A reception will follow at the Berthoud Community Center.
Cremation has been completed.

MCAFEE, George M.
Jan. 6, 1911 - April 12, 2004
George M. McAfee of Paonia, Colo., died April 12, 2004, at the Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was 93.
Mr. McAfee was born Jan. 6, 1911, in Longmont to John and Pearl (Potter) McAfee.
He spent his childhood in Erie and attended schools there.
Mr. McAfee married Viola Lehto on Feb. 13, 1933, in Estes Park. He moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1979 and was a member of the Labors Union Local No. 320 in Portland. He returned to Paonia in 1999.
Mr. McAfees interests included ranching, fishing, gardening and horses.
He was preceded in death by his wife on March 17, 1979, in Oregon City; a son, Robert Wayne McAfee; a sister, Myria McMillan; two brothers, Max and Walter McAfee; and a grandson, Harlan Lee Pitts.
He is survived by three daughters, Lucille Buhr and her husband John of Paonia, Patricia Pitts of Paonia and Karen Cottrell and her husband Larry of Klamath Falls, Ore.; two sons, George K. McAfee and his wife Diana of Santa Maria, Calif., and Keith McAfee and his wife Kay of Oceanside, Calif; a sister, Netta McKeehan of Erie; a brother, Wayne McAfee and his wife Thelma of Yuma, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Rose McAfee of Erie; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Lions Club Hall in Erie. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

MCCARTEE, J. Carolyn
June 15, 1940 - Aug. 9, 2004
J. Carolyn McCartee of Chandler, Ariz., formerly of the Longmont, Lyons and Estes Park areas, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, in Chandler. She was 64.
She was born June 15, 1940, in Denver to Carrol J. and Verna M. (Lambert) Mahagan.
She married Stanley K. McCartee on Dec. 16, 1967, in Longmont.
Mrs. McCartee, her husband Stan and son Shawn moved to the Longmont area in 1982. Mrs. McCartee worked in the mortgage lending industry for 28 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music.
Mrs. McCartee was preceded in death by her father on Oct. 17, 1973; and her mother on May 15, 1998.
She is survived by her husband Stanley of Chandler; a son, Shawn of Schaumburg, Ill.; two uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 12, at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, with Paul Lambert of Boulder Bible Chapel officiating.

MCGILL, Lea'Ann Hardie
Nov. 21, 1955 - July 28, 2004
LeaAnn Hardie McGill of Fort Worth, Texas, died at home of natural causes on Wednesday, July 28, 2004. She was 48.
LeaAnn was born in Fort Worth to Jesse O. and Marinola (Black) Hardie on Nov. 21, 1955.
She lived in Fort Worth and Glen Rose, Texas, as a child and graduated from Glen Rose High School in 1974.
She married Wesley McGill in 1991 in Fort Worth. They later divorced, but she continued to be considered a member of Wesleys extended family.
She worked as an instrument technician in central sterilization, first at Baylor All Saints Hospital, and then at Medical Plaza in Fort Worth. She loved children and animals, reading, listening to music and collecting dolls. She also was a movie buff, and in her younger years, a great dancer.
LeaAnn touched the lives of many people and will be remembered by family and friends as being an exceptionally kind, sensitive, loving and gentle person. The word sweetheart is frequently used to describe her.
She is survived by her son, Sean McGill of Fort Worth; her father and stepmother, Jesse and Deanna Hardie of Glen Rose, Texas; a sister Vicki Rivers of Longmont; stepsisters, Lisa Roark and her husband Bill of Mansfield, Texas, Kathryn Fink and her husband Steve of Dallas; a stepbrother W. Lee Johnson and his wife, Young Ju of South Korea.
LeaAnn will also be missed by her former husband, Wesley McGill; his two daughters, Adria McGill and Leslie McGill; his brother George McGill; his sisters, Brenda Lassiter, Glenda Ferguson and partner Gerald Chaney, Linda Chandler and partner Ed Griffin, Gloria McGill and partner Manuel Solis; and many other relatives including 14 nephews and 12 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marinola Black Hardie.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Mountain Valley Chapel in Burleson, Texas. Interment was at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
MORRIS, Mildred Jennings
Jan. 18, 1919 - July 25, 2004
Mildred Jennings Morris of Fort Collins died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Columbine Care Center East. She was 85.
Mrs. Morris was born Jan. 18, 1919, to Roy W. and Alma (Kimmey) Jennings, in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Van Meter High School and Capital City Commercial College.
She married William Noyes Morris on March 28, 1942, in Van Meter, Iowa. They lived in Van Meter and Waukee, Iowa, before moving to Boulder and later to Longmont.
Mrs. Morris was a bookkeeper and secretary for many companies, including the Farmers Co-op, Melody Homes and the Methodist Church. She retired in 1985.
After her husband died in 1986, she lived in Ames, Iowa; West Lafayette, Ind.; and Akron, Ohio, to be near her family. In 2001, Mrs. Morris moved to Fort Collins to be closer to her daughter.
Mrs. Morris was involved in 4-H, Eastern Star, White Shrine, and the Methodist Church. She will be remembered for teaching her family to serve others and to do a quality job in everything they did.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; an infant brother, Robert Jennings; and two sisters, Alice Jennings and Helen Rodgers.
She is survived by a daughter, Margie Caswell and her husband Larry of Red Feather Lakes; a son, Rob Morris and his wife Jennifer of Flower Mound, Texas; three sisters, Ardith Mick of Story City, Iowa, Ruth Lanning Peck of Des Moines and Kay Probst of Elburn, Ill; four grandchildren, Leigh Caswell Mason, Noelle Caswell, Jerod Morris and Joshua Mason; a great-grandson, Arthur Mason; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the United Methodist Church in Waukee. A luncheon will follow.
Inurnment will be at the Van Meter Cemetery.

MUNGER, Wilbur Shepard
Feb. 3, 1916 - Aug. 11, 2004
Wilbur Shepard Munger of Longmont died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at his home. He was 88.
Mr. Munger was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Norwood, Colo., to Alvin Taylor and Minnie Gertrude (Johnson) Munger.
He married Margaret Ann Murphy on July 10, 1938, in Concordia, Kan.
Mr. Munger served in the U.S. Army Combat Infantry from 1943 until 1945. He served in Germany on the Sigfried Line and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a regional sales manager for the Rexall Drug Co., covering the Eastern United States. He retired in 1975.
Mr. Munger moved to Longmont in 1977 from Boston. He attended Calvary Church.
Mr. Munger was a member of Longs Peak Post 2601, Veterans of Foreign Wars and John Harold Buckley Post 32, American Legion. He had an interest in the stock market and enjoyed his family and his work.
Mr. Munger was preceded in death by a brother, Claire W. Munger; and a sister, Vivian Larson.
He is survived by his wife of Longmont; two sons, Michael W. Munger and his wife Pamela of Longmont, and Timothy J. Munger and his wife Karen of Aurora; a daughter, Cathleen A. Castaneda and her husband Richard of Shawnee, Kan.; and eight grandchildren, Amy Munger, Benjamin Munger, Bridget, Scott and Allison Munger, and Katie, Tim and Annie Castaneda.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Hovestol of Calvary Church officiating. Interment will be at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.

RICHARDS, Margan Woodward Sr.
Aug. 30, 1914 - Aug. 3, 2004
Morgan Woodward Richards Sr. of Boise, Idaho, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, of natural causes at the Brain Injury Unit, Boise Samaritan Village in Boise. He was 89.
Mr. Richards was born Aug. 30, 1914, in Evanston, Ill., to Olin Lewis and Elizabeth (Graham) Woodward Richards.
He received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Ill. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force Division in 1943, served in the China Burma India theater, and was discharged in 1946. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Mr. Richards married Dorothea Vickie Volkmer on March 7, 1946, in Chicago. He moved to Longmont in 1957, and owned and operated the Richards Hardware Store at 324 Main St. from 1957 to 1973.
Mr. Richards was a member of the Lions Club International, Masons and Shriners and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. His hobbies included gardening, reading and going out to dinner.
Mr. Richards was preceded in death by his parents; a bonus father; a brother; and a sister-in-law.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Woody Richards of Boise and Bill Richards of Fort Collins; a daughter, Nancy Richards of Boise; a sister, Betty Anne Champion and her husband John of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren, David Richards of Los Angeles, Angie Richards of Boise, Eric Richards of Fort Collins and Scott Richards of China; a sister-in-law, Dorolene Obendorf; and a brother-in-law, and Ray Obendorf.
A memorial service was held on Friday, Aug. 6, at Boise Samaritan Village Chapel in Boise, with the Rev. Richard Vering officiating. Graveside services were held on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Lower Boise Basin Cemetery in Parma, Idaho, with the Rev. Joey Mills presiding.

RITTERLING, Sarah Everal, 91, of Longmont, died at her home on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004. There will be a graveside service held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at the Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont, under the direction of Howe Mortuary. SEIDL, Mark A.
Nov. 21, 1956 - Aug. 3, 2004
Mark A. Seidl of Loveland died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at University Hospital in Denver of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a rare lung disease. He was 47.
Mr. Seidl was born Nov. 21, 1956, in Erie, Pa., to Don and Virginia (Lacey) Seidl. The family moved to Marshalltown, Iowa, where Mr. Seidl graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1974.
He drove a semitrailer for North American Van Lines, which brought him to Longmont in 1985. Mr. Seidl lived in Longmont for several years until his illness. He then moved to Loveland, where he lived the past five years.
Mr. Seidl will be remembered for his love of family and life, and for his hobby and fascination with trains.
Mr. Seidl was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.
He is survived by his father of Marshalltown; two sisters, Malisa Taylor and her husband Bruce of Fort Morgan and Mary Somers and her husband Jeff of Phoenix; a brother, Matthew Seidl and his wife Teri of Des Moines, Iowa; and his longtime partner, Lanora Burnes, and her children, Ian and Carley of Loveland.
Cremation was handled by DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home in Denver. Inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown.
SUCKE, Robert William
April 27, 1921 - Aug. 2, 2004
Robert William Sucke of Lakewood, formerly of Longmont, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Bethany Healthplex in Lakewood. He was 83.
He was born April 27, 1921, in Gorman, Texas, to John Howard and Bertha (Williams) Sucke.
Mr. Sucke served during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps 427th Night Fighters Squadron in China, Burma and India.
He married Mary Warren on Oct. 24, 1947, in Austin, Texas. He earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Texas in 1950.
Mr. Sucke and his family lived in Riverton, Wyo., from 1958 until 1964, when they moved to Vernal, Utah. They returned to Riverton in 1966 and moved to Longmont in 1973.
Mr. Sucke and his wife spent three years in Trinidad, West Indies, where he supervised an off-shore drilling production.
They settled in Longmont until Mrs. Sucke passed away in 2001. Mr. Sucke moved back to Riverton for a short time before returning to Colorado in 2003.
He was a long-term employee for the Amoco Production Co. prior to 1978. From 1978 until his death, he was a petroleum consultant.
Mr. Sucke was a member of First United Methodist Church in Longmont, the Longmont Moose Lodge No. 1548 and the Elks Lodge.
He will be remembered for his sharp wit, his dry sense of humor and his Southern gentleman manners.
Mr. Sucke was preceded in death by his wife and a sister.
He is survived by two sons, Bill Sucke and his wife Suzanne of Clifton, Colo., and James Warren and his wife Becky of Des Moines, Wash.; a daughter, Stacey Warren Gibbons and her husband John of Lakewood; and five grandchildren, Katy Sucke and Shannon Miller of Clifton, Shay Sutherland of Portland, Ore., and Emily Gibbons and Alyssa Gibbons of Lakewood.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Light of Christ Anglican Church, 4000 W. Yale Ave. in Denver.
