SCHWECHHEIMER, Herbert, 90, of Boulder, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Boulder Manor.

STRACHAN, Margaret Rose

June 2, 1906 - July 17, 2004

Margaret Rose Strachan of Longmont, formerly of Loveland, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Applewood Living Center in Longmont. She was 98.

Mrs. Strachan was born June 2, 1906, in Glencoe, Ill., to Paul and Marianne (Wilhelm) Fehd.

She was graduated from Evanston Township High School and National College of Education in Evanston, Ill., and performed post-graduate work at Northwestern University.

Mrs. Strachan married Leonard Everett Strachan on Dec. 26, 1932, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Evanston.

She taught in the Evanston Public Schools for 25 years, specializing in special education and as a psychometrist, who administered achievement and I.Q. tests. She often tutored children with reading problems.

Mrs. Strachan also was superintendent of the Primary Department Sunday School at her church in Evanston for many years.

The Strachans moved to Loveland in 1972.

Mrs. Strachan loved and enjoyed her family, her church, reading, gardening and traveling. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loveland, the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Loveland Retired Teachers Association.

Mrs. Strachan was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 13, 1986; an infant son, Leonard Everett Strachan Jr.; five sisters; three brothers; and nieces and nephews.

She is survived by a daughter, Marianne Welander and her husband, the Rev. Bruce Welander, of Longmont; two grandchildren, Paul M. Welander of Broomfied and Julie B. Welander of Broomfield; and nieces and nephews.

No visitation is scheduled.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3333 N. Duffield, Loveland, with the Rev. Edward Smith officiating. Private burial will be at Loveland Burial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Loveland, the American Heart Association or Mothers Against Drunk Driving, in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO, 80501-5440.

TURGEON-SANDOVAL, Joseph J.

June 7, 1973 - July 19, 2004

Joseph J. Turgeon-Sandoval of Frederick died Monday, July 19, 2004, at his home. He was 31.

He was born June 7, 1973, in Boulder to Andy and Rebecca (Turgeon) Sandoval.

Mr. Turgeon-Sandoval grew up in the Tri-Town region. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1992.

He worked as a truck driver for High Country Beverage. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and boating.

Mr. Turgeon-Sandoval is survived by his parents of Frederick; two sons, Joerdan and Christopher Turgeon; three brothers, Jaime Sandoval and his wife Celia, Randall Sandoval and Andrew Sandoval, all of Frederick; a nephew, Isaiah Sandoval of Frederick; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mickey Flaska as celebrant.

Interment will be at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Joerdan and Christopher Turgeon Educational Fund, sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont 80501.

BELL, William W.

Nov. 15, 1921 - July 29, 2004

William W. Bell of Grand Lake died of natural causes Thursday, July 29, 2004, at home. He was 82.

He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Oak Creek, Colo., to John and Myrtle (Stark) Bell.

Mr. Bell was a Longmont resident from approximately 1926 until 1953.

He married Kathryn Angulas on July 21, 1946, in Longmont.

Mr. Bell served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a volunteer with the fire department and a member of the Rotary Club. He was also active with the Chamber of Commerce and Grand County Sewer Board in Grand Lake. He owned the Bell Crest Resort in Grand Lake.

Mr. Bell was a member of Trinity Church of the Pines in Grand Lake.

He loved people and the water, especially boating.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his wife; and a brother, George Bell.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Bell of Denver, Debra Carringer and her husband George of Colorado Springs and Judi Lee and her husband Danny of Spokane, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Kory, Alex and Ryan Victor and Pat Carringer.

A memorial open house will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at the Callahan House, 312 Terry St. Inurnment will take place at Grand Lake Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Schoenfeld Mortuary in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colo.

BRYAN, Keath Amelia

July 28, 2004

Keath Amelia Bryan, 59, formerly of Longmont, died July 28, 2004, at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Keath had a true love of life and a determination to get the most out of everything life gave her. She spent hours working to make her home beautiful. She enjoyed gardening and watching the birds that flocked to her many flowers. She was willing to try many different things and spent her life exploring the Rocky Mountains hiking and the waters of the Caribbean on cruises. She did everything in life she ever set out to do.

She lived in Longmont from 1978 to 2003.

Keath was preceded in death by her mother, Iris Mitchell, and is survived by her children; daughters Laura Tomczak and her husband Ed and Susan Chilcoat of Mooresville, N.C.; and son, Richard Chilcoat and his wife Jennifer of Mesa, Ariz. Survivors also include three grandchildren, Sara and Melissa Tomczak and Michael Chilcoat.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Williamson Chapel United Methodist Church, 589 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.

Memorials may be made in Keaths honor to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210.

HERVEY, Nancy J. (Loomiller)

June 5, 1935 - July 19, 2004

Nancy Joyce Hervey passed away on July 19, 2004 in her Citrus Heights, Calif., home at age 69.

Mrs. Hervey was born in Longmont on June 5, 1935, the youngest child of Frank and Avis (Berry) Loomiller.

She attended local schools and graduated Longmont High School.

Nancy enjoyed singing and was a member of the old Longmont Legionettes. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Nancy treasured family and tradition, including baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren every year.

After moving to California, she often shared fond memories of Longmont and the majestic mountains of Colorado, especially the Estes Park area, with her children and grandchildren. Nancy was an avid reader and loved to travel.

Their annual visits to Longmont had to include a trip to Estes Park for her favorite saltwater taffy.

Mrs. Hervey was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Leonard Bud Wilcox.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbur (Bill) Hervey, of Citrus Heights; daughter, Dorothy Wolf; sons, Mitchel and Michel Osborn of Citrus Heights; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; step-children; and a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Wilma Loomiller, of Longmont.

She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Cremation was by the Neptune Society and a private family memorial was held in her home.

McKELVEY, Gladyce

Dec. 3, 1921 - July 30, 2004

Glacyce Grace McKelvey of Spring Gulch Ranch Estates near Lyons in Larimer County died Friday, July 30, 2004, at Hospice Care Center in Louisville. She was 82.

Mrs. McKelvey was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Avonmore, Pa., to Frank and Ada Grace (Prugh) Livengood. She was a graduate of the registered nursing program of the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing at Wilkinsburg, Pa.

She married William McKelvey of Wilkinsburg on Sept. 25, 1943, at the Dalhart (Texas) Army Air Field. When Bill left in January 1944 in a new B17 bomber from Grand Island, Neb., to join the Eighth Air Force in England, Mrs. McKelvey returned to her nursing duties at Columbia Hospital.

After the war, she applied her nursing skills to raising a family of four, and was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Mrs. McKelvey loved the outdoors and enjoyed family camping trips throughout the United States with many good friends. She will be remembered as a gracious, caring lady with many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Livengood, and a sister, Ada Aileen Stover.

Mrs. McKelvey is survived by her husband; her children, Jeanne Moore and her husband, William, of Seattle, Wash., Gary McKelvey and his wife, Janet, of Arvada, Stephen McKelvey and his wife, Yvonne, of Los Alamos, N.M., and William McKelvey and his wife, Janice, of Langhorne, Pa.; and her grandchildren, Brian and Deborah Moore and Scott McKelvey.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Howe Mortuary, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Suite A, Lafayette, CO 80026 or a favorite charity of choice.

MURPHY, Dr. Wilbur F.

July 26, 1911 - July 25, 2004

Dr. Wilbur F. Murphy of Erie died of natural causes Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Balfour Retirement Community. He was 92.

He was born July 26, 1911, in Burlington, N.J., to Milton C. and Agnes B. (Pinkerton) Murphy.

On April 16, 1938, he married Sarah E. Clark in Burlington.

He was a retired chiropractor. He lived in Boulder County for the past year.

Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Thomas E. Murphy.

He is survived by his grandsons, Brian Murphy of Erie and Shawn Murphy of Loveland; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erlinger Cremation & Funeral Service of Longmont.

OUTLER, Bessie C.

Oct. 19, 1908 - Aug. 3, 2004

Bessie C. Outler died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at the Hospice Care Center at McKee in Loveland. She was 95.

Mrs. Outler was born Oct. 19, 1908, in Mankato, Kan., to John and Pearl (Fordham) Johnson.

She married Herman E. Gene Outler on Oct. 5, 1925, in Mankato.

She spent most of her life in Kansas before moving to Colorado in 1997. She made her home at the Residence at Oakridge in Fort Collins for the two years before her death.

Mrs. Outler was preceded in death by her husband on July 26, 1999; a son, Lee Outler; a granddaughter, Julie Johannes; and a great-grandson, Nathan.

She is survived by a son, Ray Outler and his wife Barbara of Loveland; a daughter, Ruth Rogers and her husband Norman of Abiline, Kan.; a daughter-in-law, Emiko Outler of Chicago; a brother, Jess Johnson and his wife Irma of Washington, Kan.; a sister, Bonnie Hedden and her husband John of Udall, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Foothills Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Eric Mowen of Gateway Baptist Church officiating.

RUST, Dale Eugene

Dec. 4, 1928 - July 29, 2004

Dale Eugene Rust of Longmont died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his home. He was 75.

Mr. Rust was born Dec. 4, 1928, in York County, Neb., to Jess C., Sr. and Esther (Hiatt) Rust.

He grew up on the family farm and attended and graduated from York schools. He became a press operator for the York Daily News Times.

Mr. Rust was a member of the Nebraska National Guard, 134th Infantry Division Service Company and belonged to the Fifth Army Area Unit Team Match Rifle Squad, which consisted of 13 states. He was first in competition matches and was awarded several medals.

He married Wilma J. Wetzel on Sept. 3, 1950, in York, where the couple resided until moving to Longmont in 1959.

Dale was a press operator for the Longmont Daily Times-Call until he purchased Longmont Radiator Service in 1968. He owned and operated the business until 1991 when he retired for health reasons.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1548 in Longmont.

Mr. Rust will be remembered as a quiet, no-frills man who loved his family and was proud of their many achievements in life. He enjoyed, camping, fishing and boating as long as his health permitted.

Mr. Rust was preceded in death by his three sisters, Delma Rust, Dorothy Thompson and Alice Hoffschneider; and a daughter-in-law, Kristie Rust.

He is survived by his wife of Longmont; a son, Lynn E. Rust of Golden; two daughters, Lori Haullauer and her husband Ron of Alliance, Neb., and Lisa Schweger and her husband Roger of Denver; two sisters, Lois Huff of Portland, Ore., and Mary Weber and her husband Don of Lone Tree, Colo.; a brother, Jess C. Rust, Jr. and his wife Betty of York; a brother-in-law, George Wetzel and his wife Joan of Curtis, Neb; and three grandchildren, Ryan Hallauer, Katie and David Schweger.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, with David Bradshaw of LifeBridge Christian Church officiating.

Interment will be at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont 80501.
