SUSURAS, Helen
July 17, 1921 - June 26, 2004
Helen A. Susuras of Dacono died Saturday, June 26, 2004, in Longmont. She was 82.
She was born July 17, 1921, in Dawson, N.M., to James and Pauline (Berros) Anest.
At an early age, she moved with her family to Dacono, where she lived for the rest of her life.
She married Theodore Susuras on July 10, 1948, in Denver.
Mrs. Susuras was raised as a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
She worked as a clerk for the coal mines and as a teller for the Erie Bank. She later stayed at home to care for her daughter. For many years, Mr. and Mrs. Susuras owned a modular home business.
Mrs. Susuras enjoyed cooking and baking cookies that she provided for the senior center during social time.
She also loved to read, sew and take trips to Black Hawk. She was very fond of her dog, Duffy. She enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters and was known to them as Iya.
Mrs. Susuras was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Couzin and Nancy Stiney.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Helen Maria McMurray and her husband William of Firestone; two granddaughters, Natalie and Emily McMurray; and two nieces, Jane Bundy and Angie Sims, both of Denver.
A Trisagion will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at St. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 5640 Jay Road in Boulder on with the Rev. Nicholas Dotson officiating.
Entombment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont following the services.

TERRANOVA, Leonard
Oct. 25, 1911 - June 25, 2004
Leonard Terranova of Longmont died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Life Care Center. He was 92.
He was born Oct. 25, 1911, in Corona, N.Y., to Anthony and Elizabeth (Fortunato) Terranova.
Mr. Terranova lived on Long Island, where he owned and operated a nursery and floral business with his wife, Mary. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club on Long Island.
The couple retired in 1982 and moved to central Florida. After suffering a stroke, Mr. Terranova came to Longmont to reside at Life Care in September 2003.
Mr. Terranova was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary. He is survived by his four children: Leonard Terranova Jr. and his wife, Lois, of Massachusetts; Anthony Terranova and his wife, Gloria, of California; Andrew Terranova and his wife, Maria, of Longmont; and Shirley Caristo and her husband, Dominic, of North Carolina. Five sisters, one brother, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren also survive him.
A private memorial service has been held for the family in Colorado. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary of Longmont.
TRUJILLO, Bonifacio
Dec. 19, 1949 - June 16, 2004
Bonifacio Trujillo, formerly of Longmont, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in Kingman, Ariz. He was 54.
Mr. Trujillo was born Dec. 19, 1949, in Vineland, Colo., to John and Frances Montez.
He was a hard worker who enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos and spending time with people. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Mr. Trujillo was preceded in death by his mother and father; a brother, Eddie Montez; a sister, Lupe Pinky Wilson; a grandson, John Aguilar; and a niece, May Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Delores of Denver; a son, Bonifacio Trujillo and his wife Lavetta of Denver; three grandchildren, Antonio, Angelica and Joseph Trujillo of Denver; three sisters, Mary Velasquez and her husband Phil, Juanita Arellano and her husband Phil, and Frances Montez, all of Pueblo; six brothers, Albert Montez and his wife Lola, Robert Montez and his wife Liz, Felix Montez and his wife Patsy, all of Pueblo, Chris Montez and his wife Adela of Denver, Junior Montez and his wife Caroline of Dacono, and Julian Montez and his wife Kelly of Longmont; a brother-in-law, Charlie Wilson of Pueblo; a godchild, Brigette Montez of Longmont; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation has taken place in Arizona. Services will be planned at a later time.

WOLTERSDORF, Donald Byron, 84, of Berthoud passed away Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Berthoud Living Center. Visitation 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with funeral service 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 2 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Hovestol of Calvary Church officiating. Interment and Masonic service 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at Green Hill Cemetery in Laramie, Wyo. ASHTON, Allan W.
Oct. 13, 1940 - July 1, 2004
Allan W. Ashton of Westminster, formerly of Longmont died at home on Thursday, July 1, 2004, of a brain tumor. He was 63.
He was born Oct. 13, 1940, to Howard and Mary (Kimball) Ashton in Aberdeen, S.D.
Mr. Ashton was a prominent member of Colorados soccer community. He is listed in the states Soccer Hall of Fame.
He played a major role in establishing a youth soccer program in Westminster, and most recently served as a club soccer coach in that city.
He also served as head coach for soccer teams at Ranum High School and Metropolitan State University in Denver during his career.
He was a member of the U.S. Soccer Federation, the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Ashton worked as a substitute teacher with the Boulder Valley School District.
His father served as a judge in Boulder District Court and moved to Longmont in 1974. Mr. Ashton often stayed in Longmont during that period.
He married married Debbie Crussell on Dec. 19, 1993, in Clarinda, Iowa.
Mr. Ashton is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; a son, Chad; and two brothers, John and Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Arvada Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7090 W. 64th St. in Arvada, with Pastor Gordon Anic officiating. A reception will follow in the churchs gym.
He will be interred at the Cremation Society of Colorado.

BECERRA, Marilyn Adams
July 25, 1954 - June 25, 2004
Marilyn Adams Becerra of Loveland died Friday, June 25, 2004, at her home. She was 49.
She was born July 25, 1954, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Patrick and Margaret Adams.
She graduated from Springville Griffith Institute High School in 1972 and attended Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pa., where she earned an occupational therapy assistant degree in 1974. She worked at the Longmont United Hospitals Spalding Rehab Unit as a rehab assistant from 1993 to 1994.
She met her husband, Christian, in 1980 in San Francisco. They were married in the Santa Cruz Mountains on May 2, 1981.
Mrs. Becerra lived in Fremont, Calif., until September 1992 when the couple moved to Loveland in search of a quiet place to raise their son.
She will be remembered for her kind, compassionate spirit and selfless attitude that began early in her life when taking care of her siblings, and continued to be a uniting force within her family. She will also be remembered for her work with the elderly and the disabled and for how she made time to remember birthdays and to send thank-you cards for the smallest of gestures.
Her mother preceded her in death on June 10, 2003.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Christian; a son, Johnathan; her father, Patrick Adams; two sisters, Christina and Rosemary; three brothers, Jerry, Mark and Brian; a large extended family of nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Memorial services will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3.

BOLLIVAR, Lena Imagene 'Lee'

Lena Imogene Lee Bollivar of Longmont died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Place. She was 86.
She was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Junction City, Kan.
In 1933, She married Austin Oppenlander in Chadron, Neb. She married Robert Bollivar after Mr. Oppenlanders death. They later divorced.
Mrs. Bollivar was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother until World War II, when she took a civil service job in Fort Riley, Kan.
She moved to Colorado in 1951 due to her sons poor health. The family moved to Buena Vista, Colo., and later to Fort Carson at Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Bollivar remained employed in civil service in Colorado Springs until her retirement in 1976. She moved to St. Vrain Manor in Longmont in the fall of 1978, where she stayed until her death.
She will be remembered for her world-class lemon meringue pie, which she often shared with her fellow Manor residents.
Mrs. Bollivar was preceded in death by her first husband; a granddaughter, Jonna Lynn Luttrell; and a great-granddaughter, Beth Luttrell.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ann Davis and Emily Kay Devers; a son, Alan Edward Oppenlander; 10 grandchildren, Rick Hoyer, Patrick Davis, Tony Esposito, Lenae Vigil, Mark Esposito, Michael Esposito, Nicole Devers, Shelli Oppenlander, Michael Morganti and Ralph Redmond Sr.; 11 great-grandchildren, Lynn Carter, Lisa Brown, Larissa Vigil, Austin Vigil, Jeremy Esposito, Anthony Esposito, Alyssa Esposito, Haley Esposito, Austin Esposito, Ralph Redmond Jr. and Janece Redmond.

HEISLER, Kurt
Aug. 24, 1911 - June 13, 2004
Kurt Heisler of Longmont died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Los Angeles of a heart attack. He was 92.
Dr. Heisler was born Aug. 24, 1911, in Vienna, Austria.
He attended medical school at the University of Vienna, graduating in 1938, two months before the Nazis were welcomed to Austria, closing any future for Jews there. He then emigrated to the United States with his wife, Henia, who had relatives here who sponsored their emmigration. A sister Paula, her husband, and their two daughters were subsequently murdered at Auschwitz.
Dr. Heisler interned at Menorah Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., and then settled in Springfield, Ill., where he began to practice medicine. Upon gaining his citizenship, he enlisted in the Army and served as a battalion surgeon with the 84th Infantry Railsplitter Division, and saw combat in the Battle of the Bulge.
Following the war, Dr. Heisler returned to Springfield and practiced medicine until his retirement in 1976. He then moved to Boulder and to Longmont two years later, where he remained for 28 years until his death.
Dr. Heisler was active in community affairs. A professional soccer player in Austria, he coached the University of Colorado team from 1976 until 1987. He joined the Longmont Mental Health Advisory Board in 1978. In the same year, he competed and won a medal in the First Annual Senior Olympics, a feat he repeated in 1980 just months after a triple bypass operation. An avid hiker, he climbed the East face of Longs Peak at the age of 65.
In 1981 Dr. Heisler received the Channel 9 Who Care Award for his volunteerism for Boulder County Hospice, Longmont Mental Health Center, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and Longmont United Hospitals elderly day-care program. He also did volunteer work for many years at The Homestead in Longmont.
He is survived by two sons, Mark of Los Angeles and Gerry of Columbia, Mo.; a cousin, Bondi Furst of Basel, Switzerland; a nephew, Herbert Mauner of Fullerton, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Congregation Har HaShem, 3950 Baseline Road in Boulder.
HILL, Ronald R.
March 15, 1939 - June 29, 2004
Ronald R. Hill of Longmont was called by the Almighty God to his Heavenly Home, Thursday, June 29, 2004. He was 65.
Ron was born on March 15, 1939, in Wauneta, Neb., to Paul Hill and Wilma (Fletcher) Hill. He grew up in Nebraska, graduating from Wauneta High School where he was active in football, basketball and track.
Ron attended and graduated from McCook Junior College where he played on the basketball team. He graduated with a bachelor of arts from Kearney State, Kearney, Neb., and received a masters from the University of Northern Colorado.
On Aug. 16, 1959, Ron married Joan Einspahr at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Wauneta. Ron was brought to the Lord through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism and Confirmation at St.Pauls in April 1960.
Mr. Hill taught school in the St. Vrain Valley School District for 15 years at Lyons, Columbine, and Northeast Junior High. While in Lyons he also coached the basketball team. He later joined the real estate field, working for the Pratt Agency, Coldwell Banker, First Realty, Title Realty and most recently, Realty Executive.
Mr. Hill was active in Messiah Lutheran Church, where he previously served as church secretary and was also vice-president of the voters. He was also involved with the St. Vrain Valley Education Association, having served as president of the organization. Later he was on the state board of directors for the Colorado Education Association.
Rons outside interests included golf, hunting, fishing and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed many golfing trips to Mesquite, Nev., with local friends and groups.
Preceding in death were his parents.
Surviving are his wife of Longmont; two sons, Greg Hill and his wife Kelly of Longmont and Kurt Hill and his wife Tisha of Longmont; two sisters, Dixie Stake and her husband Oral of Kingfisher, Okla., and Nancy Williams of Wauneta; five grandchildren, Kyrie, Haley, Alyssa, Mackenzie and Hunter Hill, all of Longmont; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Messiah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kent Schnegelberger officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary.
