HUTSON, Evelyn I.

Evelyn I. Hutson of Erie died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Longmont United Hospital. She was 67.
She was born Feb. 26, 1935, to Glenn and Lulu Mae (Buckley) James in Boulder. She graduated from Berthoud High School in 1952.
On April 9, 1954, she married Roy Hutson in Lyons.
Mrs. Hutson worked for Valley Lab for 12 years as a lab technician. She was retired. She was a lifelong resident of the Longmont area.
Mrs. Hutson was of the Lutheran faith. She loved making Christmas ornaments and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Hutson was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband of Erie; her mother of Niwot; two sons, Alan Hutson of Erie and Terry Hutson of Erie; a daughter, Cathy Rorie and her husband Rusty of Aurora; two sisters, Janice James of Niwot and Norma James of Niwot; and two grandchildren, Nicole Rorie of Fort Collins and Brian Rorie of Aurora.
Visitation will not be held.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Dion of First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Services will conclude at the chapel.

JESSEN, Frances C.

Frances Colleen Jessen of Longmont died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Boulder Community Hospital of complications following a stroke. She was 73.
She was born Feb. 5, 1929, to John and Louise (Helzer) Schlothauer in Windsor. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1947.
On Feb. 18, 1949, she married Ray Robert Jessen in Windsor. They lived in Windsor until 1955 when they moved to Longmont.
Mrs. Jessen was a person of great faith. She enjoyed her participation in and the people at Longs Peak United Methodist Church.
She loved to paint, play the piano and was an active member of the Wednesday Music Club. Throughout the years, she remained active with a close-knit circle of high school friends, as well as with the many friends she had made while working at Longmont Florist.
Mrs. Jessen was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; a son, Stephen R. Jessen; two brothers, Alvin and Alfred Schlothauer; a sister, Virginia Heinemann; and a grandson, Adam Wallace.
She is survived by a son, Robert J. Jessen and his wife Kristina of Longmont; a daughter, Barbara L. Weber and her friend David Lynch of Longmont; a daughter-in-law, Denise Winslow and her husband Joe of Mead; four grandchildren, Nathan Jessen of Superior, Colin Jessen of Fort Collins, Matthew Weber of Boulder and Ashley Jessen of Longmont; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Howe Mortuary, Longmont.
Private family interment will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
A memorial celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Steve Creel and Randy Jessen officiating.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Jessen's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
KENYON, Patrica "Pat"

Patrica "Pat" Kenyon of Longmont died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at her home. She was 59.
She was born Dec. 3, 1942, to Will Lewis and Gertie (Webb) Davis in Montrose. She grew up in a number of communities in Colorado before graduating from Arvada West High School in 1960.
On July 19, 1976, she married Thomas L. Kenyon in Las Vegas.
Mrs. Kenyon worked for King Soopers for a number of years in the transportation department.
She had a lifelong interest in hunting, fishing and trapping, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She cherished her family and emphasized their time together, making sure that hunting trips were centered on the whole family and their involvement and participation.
Mrs. Kenyon was a Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan and was known for her Broncos parties, including her Super Bowl parties.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Kenyon is survived by her husband of Longmont; two sons, Danny McAnally and his wife Laura of Westminster and Don McAnally and his wife Tanna of Longmont; a daughter, Debbie Seime and her husband Tim of Thornton; two sisters, Betty Kitzman of Denver and Joan Carter and her husband Mickey of Grand Junction; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Howe Mortuary Chapel, with Chaplain Bob Kraft officiating.
Cremation has been held at Howe Mortuary and Crematory.

MILLER, Lisle Esther

Lisle Esther Miller, 89, went to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at North Ottawa Care Center in Grand Haven, Mich.
She was born July 1, 1913, in Battle Creek, Mich. She was a member of Berlin Baptist Church in Marne, Mich., for the past three years, after having lived in Colorado for 38 years prior. In their early years, Lisle and her husband, Bernard, who preceded her in death in 2000, lived in Battle Creek and Augusta, Mich., where they raised two children before moving west in 1961 to live in Littleton, Dillon, Denver, Longmont, Berthoud and Loveland. They returned to Michigan in 1999 and made their home in Spring Lake.
Lisle and Bernard were instrumental in establishing and supporting the beginning growth of three churches in Michigan as well as seven churches in Colorado. Lisle served as a pianist and organist for many years in several of the churches.
Mrs. Miller is survived by a son, David Miller and his wife, Suzanne, of Longmont; a daughter, Priscilla Anne Schwartz, and her husband, Leonard, of Spring Lake; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Berlin Baptist Church in Marne, with the Rev. Jeff Gunderman officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Muskegon, Mich. Arrangements are being handled by Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, 231-777-3557.
MILLER, Norman

Norman Ray Miller of Loveland died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Hospice of Larimer County at McKee Medical Center, Loveland. He was 64.
He was born Oct. 7, 1937, to Detmar F. and Dorothy (Cox) Miller in Joliet, Ill.
Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than 20 years.
In 1976, he moved to Colorado from Illinois.
On Sept. 9, 1984, he married Judith Davis in Dacono. In 1989, they moved to Lyons; in 1999, they moved to Loveland.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Lutheran Church, the Marine Corps League in Denver, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Mountain Veterans Group in Nederland.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed camping. He loved anything to do with the military and was a history buff who collected antique military items. He enjoyed going antiquing, visiting garage sales, and watching and setting off fireworks. He also spent many hours caring for horses.
He will be remembered for the time he spent drinking coffee with his friends. He also will be remembered as a family man who took care of his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Patches Ann Miller, in 1989.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Edward Nuttleman of Denver; three daughters, Audra Premo and her husband Tim of Rapid City, S.D., Augusta Roberts of Inwood, Iowa, and Abbie Nuttleman of Denver; a brother, Kenneth Miller and his wife Joy of Boulder City, Nev.; and six grandchildren.

SAVARESE, Olga, 81, of Brighton, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Aurora South Hospital.
STEINACHER, Murvil D.

Murvil D. Steinacher of Nederland died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Boulder. He was 80.
He was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Fillmore County, Neb., to Frank and Cecelia Margaret Braden Steinacher. Mr. Steinacher graduated from Geneva High School in Geneva, Neb. He married June M. McClure on Dec. 7, 1944, at the Alameda Naval Air Station in California.
He became a resident of Boulder in 1954 and a resident in Nederland in 1992.
Mr. Steinacher retired in 1985 as the owner of Steinachers Appliance Service Company of Boulder. Formerly with AAF Appliance Service Company of Boulder, he was in the construction field building houses, doing finishing work and being in charge of the cabinet shop for Wagnor Manor Construction Company of Boulder.
His memberships included Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Boulder, Boulder Elks Lodge No. 566 and American Legion Post No. 10 of Boulder.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II as an aviation machinists mate at the Alameda Naval Air Station.
Survivors include his wife of Nederland; two sons, Merwyn D. Steinacher and his wife Judi of Longmont and Byron J. Steinacher and his wife Donna of Sagle, Idaho; one sister, Janice Kolb of San Diego; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2312 14th St., in Boulder. Viewing will also be Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the church at 9 a.m. with a rosary at 9:30 a.m., followed by the mass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. William Breslin as celebrant. Services will conclude with burial at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery in Boulder. A reception will follow at the church for family and friends.

CARLTON, Marylou Brown

Marylou (Brown) Carlton of Niwot died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Hospice Care Center in Louisville. She was 73.
She was born Sept. 5, 1929, to Charles S. and Etta Mae (Meyers) Brown in Colorado Springs.
On March 24, 1951, she married John R. Russ Carlton in Pasadena, Calif.
Mrs. Carlton was a homemaker.
She moved to Longmont from Columbus, Neb., in 1990.
Mrs. Carlton was a member of Niwot United Methodist Church, where she was on the planning committee and active with Lutheran Family Services. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi charitable sorority.
She was active in Meals On Wheels and other charitable organizations throughout her life.
Mrs. Carlton was dedicated to her family. She loved to cook, garden and travel, especially to Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Brown and Bill Brown.
Mrs. Carlton is survived by her husband of Niwot; two daughters, Laurie L. Carlton of Boulder and Julie A. Carlton of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Gearhart and her husband Gordon and Bonnie Florey and her husband Quentin; a brother-in-law, Bill Carlton; a sister-in-law, Mary Carlton; two close friends, Toby Marez and Kathy Ellison; a niece, Loretta Livingston and her husband Richard; and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Niwot United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Matthias Krier of the church officiating.
Interment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

CASAWAY, Charles Michael Leroy

Charles Michael Leroy Castaway of Lafayette died in a homicide Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, in Boulder. He was 14.
He was born Feb. 27, 1988, to Martin Duane Castaway and Valorie Lee Peterson in Longmont. He was currently home-schooled and in the ninth grade.
Charles loved children and babysat for many in Lafayette.
He was a lifelong resident of Boulder County.
Charles loved piano, skateboarding, music and his dog, Osiris. He would help anyone.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marcella Castaway; and his grandfather, Leroy Peterson.
Charles is survived by his mother of Lafayette; his father of Light River, S.D.; three brothers, Dewy J. Montez of Ward, Sean A. Torres of Lafayette and Martin D. Castaway Jr. of Lafayette; seven sisters, Alece Otero of Colorado Springs, April A. Medearis of Lafayette, Chadra Castaway of Oregon, Jessica Castaway of Oregon, Shelly Teiner of Arvada, and Priscilla and Christina Castaway of Oregon; and his grandparents, Duane Atkinson and Mary Ogel and her husband Charles of Florida.
Private visitation will be held.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Avalon Funeral Home, 1320 Centaur Village Drive, Lafayette.
