Harold 'Poke' Foster Repp
Harold "Poke" Foster Repp, 90, formerly of Crook and Julesburg, died Jan. 18, 2005. Family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Mr. Repp was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Messex to Floyd J. and Nora (Foster) Repp.
He attended Roosevelt School in Messex until the family moved to Julesburg in 1925, after which he attended Julesburg schools.
Mr. Repp joined the Army when he was 17 and served four years as a mess hall cook. He then returned to Julesburg and worked at Shaw's Bakery.
On June 4, 1939, he married Evelyn Mae Schultz.
He later worked for Union Pacific until 1957, when he went into business as a building contractor. Mr. Repp also served as Sedgwick County's building inspector for many years.
He moved to Crook in 1963 and worked as a contractor and handyman until he retired at age 65.
Mr. Repp served on the Crook town council, and on the Northeastern Colorado Transportation Authority board. He was active in the Logan County Council on Aging, serving as its first president and helping to organize the senior citizens center. He and his wife were king and queen of the Crook fair days in 1986; he was named Democrat of the Year in 1989. He served as Sunday school superintendent and elder of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Julesburg, and as an elder of Faith Lutheran Church in Crook.
He is survived by daughters Carol Kay Woitalewicz, Northglenn, Lora Rae Reuter, Holyoke, Donna Mae Reigenborn, Julesburg, and Diana Gay Savolt, Crook; three brothers; two sisters; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn in 1997.

Donanciano Carrillo
Donanciano Carrillo, 71, of Hillrose, died Jan. 18, 2005, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Funeral services are Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. Inurnment will be Jan. 25 at 8 a.m. at the columbarium at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Carrillo was born May 24, 1933, in Lahavana, Texas, to Andres and Trinidad Carrillo.
He graduated from high school in Zapata, Texas, and moved to Hillrose in 1956, where he worked for Allyn Wind.
On March 2, 1965, he married Beatrice Garcia in Fort Morgan.
At the time of his death, he had worked for the city of Brush for 21 years, and was a retired volunteer with the Hillrose volunteer fire department.
He is survived by wife Beatrice, Hillrose; sons Adrian Flores, Phoenix, and Gabriel Flores, Greeley; mother Trinidad Carrillo, Wichita, Kan.; sister Irene Alvarez, Wichita; brothers Ted, Ed and Joe Carrillo, all of Colorado Springs; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Inez Leonard
Inez Leonard, 102, formerly of Lone Star, died Nov. 26, 2004. Funeral services were held Dec. 7.
She was born April 29, 1902, in Agency, Mo., to Levi and Katie (Rogers) Reynolds.
She married Cecil Leonard in St. Joseph, Mo., on Oct. 27, 1926.
Mrs. Leonard attended Gards Business University in Kansas City, Mo., for two years.
She lived in Dexter and Springfield, Mo., from 1955 to 1989. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Springfield.
Mr. Leonard is survived by son Jimmy Leonard, Africa, Leland Leonard, Sun City, Ariz., and Chester Leonard, of Rapid City, S.D.; daughters Lela Handran, Scoby, Mont., Barbara Ediger, Helena, Mont., and Cecile Posey, Sun City; 31 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1988; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Cecil S. Foree
Cecil S. Foree, 96, formerly of Akron, died Jan. 13, 2005, in Grants Pass, Ore. Funeral services are Jan. 21, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church in Akron with Rev. Susan Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Akron Cemetery.
Mr. Foree was born Oct. 14, 1908, to Edward and Adah (Skillman) Foree. He moved with his parents from Pleasant Hill, Mo., to a homestead northwest of Otis.
Mr. Foree started school at the old Prairie Vale School, then moved to Akron and graduated from Akron High School. He later attended Colorado A&M;, now Colorado State, and the University of Northern Colorado.
He married Hazel Hohnson on Dec. 25, 1933, in Akron.
He taught school in Washington County for 10 years, then worked in the Washington County treasurer's office until he joined the Navy in March 1944. He was honorably discharged in December 1945. He then worked at a grocery store until 1950, when he was appointed Washington County clerk and recorder, a position he held until retirement in 1977.
After his wife died, he moved to Oregon to be near family.
He was a member of the Akron Presbyterian church, American Legion Post #66, Modern Woodmen of America, and a charter member of Akron Lions Club.
Mr. Foree is survived by daughter Wanda Wolf, Grants Pass, Ore.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by wife Hazel; brothers Lisle, Glenn and Levin Foree; and sister Lucille North.
Memorials may be made to the Akron Lions Club.
Rosiene Guetter
Rosiene Guetter, 91, of Sterling, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, in Sterling. Visitation is Wednesday, April 27, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services are Thursday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Nash officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Guetter was the youngest of five children born to Daniel and Barbara (Schulz) Rosenau in Tarutina, Romania, formerly Bessarabia.
She married Rheinhold Guetter in Tarutino on Jan. 25, 1934.
The family moved from Tarutino to Kreis Neumarkt in Westpreussen, occupied Poland, in 1940. Fleeing from the Russian Army in 1944, they ended up in a refugee camp in East Germany until 1948, when they crossed the Iron Curtain to another camp in Wiesau, West Germany.
In 1952, the family emigrated to the United States and settled in Atwood. In 1954, they moved to Sterling.
Mrs. Guetter worked in the food service business until she retired at the age of 75.
She is survived by sons Arnold Guetter and Sandy Schillerwein, of Sterling, and Paul Guetter, of Colorado Springs; daughters Annemarie Loutfi and husband Kays, of Houston, and Irma Schell and Don Johnson, of Sterling; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rheinold; oldest son Arthur, and daughter-in-law Peggy.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Ethel Irene Svacina
Ethel Irene Svacina, 74, of Sterling, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, in Sterling. Visitation is Thursday, April 28, from noon to 7 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services are Friday, April 29, at 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Minister Harry Cadle officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Svacina was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Bunch, Okla., to John and Martha (Vanderpool) Worley. She attended school at Cave Springs, Okla., near Bunch.
She married Robert Cloud in Bunch. They had a son, Harold R. Cloud, before Mr. Cloud died.
She then married James Svacina on Aug. 12, 1960, in Bunch. The couple had a son, Jeffrey, and a daughter, Suzanne.
They moved to Goodland, Kan., where Mrs. Svacina worked at Northwest Kansas Technical College as a cook. In the 1980s the family moved to Sterling, and she worked at Campbell Elementary, Sterling Middle School and Sterling High School as a cook.
She not only enjoyed cooking for all the students, but getting to know them as well. She loved to cook, bake and do needlework, sewing and crafts. She truly enjoyed her poodles. She was a faithful member of Sterling Church of Christ.
Mrs. Svacina is survived by husband James Svacina, of Sterling; sons Harold Cloud and wife Carolee, of Haxtun, and Jeffrey Svacina and wife Jeanie, of Sterling; daughter Suzanne Svacina, of Gainesville, Fla, ; grandchildren John Cloud, of Haxtun, Alex Svacina, of Aurora, and Sedona Niles, of Gainesville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation, or the charity of the donor's choice.
Henrietta G. Green
Henrietta G. Green, 80, of Morgan County, died April 24, 2005, at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Funeral services are April 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. Burial will follow at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Green was born May 18, 1924, in Fort Morgan to Godfried and Julia (Kraft) Geist. She attended school in Fort Morgan.
On Dec. 25, 1942, she married Harvey Green in Fort Morgan.
She is survived by husband Harvey, Brush; daughters Gwen Miller, Santee, S.C., and Barbara Wechsler, Aurora; son James Green, Greeley; brother Harold Geist, Sun City, Ariz.; five grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters; and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association.
Lorin Gene Lowery
May 1, 1935 - March 17, 2006
Lorin Gene Lowery was born on May 1, 1935, in Crook. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 17, 2006, while in Poudre Valley Hospital, Fort Collins.
Lorin graduated from Crook High School in 1953. He then worked at Foxhoven Tire Service in Sterling for five years.He worked for the irrigation district in Julesburg from 1958 to 1988. He fought heart problems from 1988 to 2006. Lorin was an avid hunter and arrowhead collector. He enjoyed carving duck decoys. Lorin was also the scout master of the Crook Boy Scouts for four years. During the past several years, Lorin's greatest enjoyment came from watching his daughters and their friends play volleyball and basketball. He especially enjoyed attending all the track meets and watching all the athletes compete.
Lorin was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nellie and Lester Lowery, three brothers, Alvin, Wayne and Donald, and sister Alice.
He is survived by his loving wife Wanda Lowery of Julesburg; and his children, Kenneth and wife Cindy of Loveland, ; Shawn and wife Julie of Carlsbad, Calif.; Trista R. Lowery of Broomfield; Nicole D. Lowery of Greeley; one granddaughter, Kaci Lowery, also of Loveland; one brother, James Lowery and wife Mary of Sterling, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Lorin G. Lowery will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at the Austin Funeral Chapel in Julesburg at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Trenton Christensen officiating and interment in the Sedgwick Cemetery in Sedgwick.
Austin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Eula M. Call
Nov. 28, 1919 - March 17, 2006
Eula M. Call, 86, of Fort Collins, died March 17, 2006, at home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline Road in Fort Collins.
The Rev. Call was born Nov. 28, 1919, in Sedalia, Mo., to Albert and Flossie (Shull) Smith. She married James Arnold Call on Nov. 6, 1940.
On Nov. 20, 1940, she was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel by the Assemblies of God, and was ordained on May 2, 1951. She began her ministry in 1938 at the Galt, Mo., Assembly of God Church, and was a minister in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado, including 22 years in Sterling.
The Rev. Call is survived by her husband, James Call; brother, Clyde Smith of Oceanside, Calif.; sons Darrell Call of Greeley and James Call of Colorado Springs; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

ALCOM, Shirley J.
Jan. 27, 1927 - March 31, 2000
Shirley Jane Alcorn of Cleghorn, Iowa, formerly of Boulder, died Friday, March 31, 2000. She was 73.
She was born January 27, 1927, in Denver to Glenn Edward Stocker Sr. and Charlotte Rita (Hutchinson) Stocker.
She was the devoted wife of LeRoy Neal Alcorn, and raised their two children in Boulder, where she lived until 1998, when she joined her family in Cleghorn.
She was a graduate of Boulder High School, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and her father was the Worthy Patron for her installation.
She was preceded in death by her husband and infant sister Eileen Rose Stocker.
Survivors include her son Edward Neal Alcorn, his wife Darla and their son, Glenn of Cleghorn, Susan Galecki and her husband Daniel of Newberg, Ore., and a brother, Glenn Edward Stocker Jr. of Los Animas.
Visitation will be today, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crist Mortuary in Boulder.
Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder on Tuesday, April 4 at 11 a.m. The Rev. John Hess will officiate.
Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Boulder.
