Earl L. Ducommun
Earl L. Ducommun, 82, died Oct. 10, 2002, in Florence.
Mr. Ducommun was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by four children: Craig Ducommun of Caņon City, Lora Ducommun, Glen Ducommun and Eric Ducommun, all of Colorado Springs; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Ducommun.
Private family services are planned. Cremation was through Holt Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
Lelon Lee Nelson
Lelon Lee Nelson, 74, of Caņon City, died Oct. 9, 2002, in Pueblo. He was born Aug. 12, 1928 in Hamilton County, Neb., to William D. and Amelia (Kolling) Nelson.
Mr. Nelson was a graduate of Central City Nebraska High School. He served one year in the Army, stationed at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs where he received a medical discharge.
He attended trade school in Omaha, Neb., was a farm laborer, truck driver, had his own appliance repair business and did construction work in Nebraska.
Following his marriage, he was in college maintenance in Arkansas and was supervisor of maintenance for seven years at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo. He moved his family to Caņon City in 1984 where he expected to have better health.
Larry West
Larry West, 66, of Pueblo, died July 31, 2002. Scriptural services were held today at 3 p.m. at Florence Mortuary, 120 N. Pikes Peak Ave., Florence, CO 81226 with Father James King officiating. Services concluded at the chapel.
Myrtle V. Cody
Myrtle V. Cody, 92, died June 16, 2003, in Caņon City.
She was born Dec. 25, 1910, in Westcliffe to John and Rose Blanche (DeGree) Knuth. She married Edward Cody April 25, 1937, in Westcliffe.
Burnie Nevada Schaar
Burnie Nevada Schaar, 76, died June 16, 2003, in Caņon City.
She was born April 22, 1927, in Flomont, Texas, to Elmer Lee and Banskie Nevada (King) Smith. In July 1974, she married Herman Carl Schaar, in Golden.
Martha Nelson Stringer
Martha Nelson Stringer, 83, formerly of Caņon City, died June 14, 2003, in Greeley.
She was born June 13, 1920, in Caņon City to Grace (Elrod) and Walter Nelson. She married Guy G. Stringer in 1939, and they made their home in Pueblo for more than 60 years. After he died, she moved to Greeley.

Patricia Lynn Garner, of Caņon City. Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Wilson Funeral Home, and at the church prior to the service. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Cremation will follow at Wilson Crematory.
Myrtle V. Cody
Myrtle V. Cody, of Westcliffe and Caņon City. Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Wilson Funeral Home, and at the church prior to the service. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, both at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Westcliffe. Interment will be in Silver Cliff Catholic Cemetery.

Rinehold Joseph "Ron" Hessman, 50, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus.
He was born Dec. 18, 1952, at Houston, Texas, to Robert Benjamin and Ruth (Leveritt) Frayard. A longtime Dodge City resident, he was a truck driver for Bartel Trucking.

She was born June 9, 1957, in San Jose, Calif. to Joseph and Leeona Mae (Howell) Didamotica.

Olan H. Epperson, 88, of Howard, died Dec. 7, 2003, in Salida.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1915, in Sapulpa, Okla. to James H. and Louisa (Hale) Epperson. He married Eva Eldredge on Dec. 8, 1977, in Bentonville, Ark.
Dorothy Mae Davis Gilman
Dorothy Mae Davis Gilman, 88, died Dec. 7, 2003, in Colorado Springs.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1915, in Mount Clare, W.Va to Elmus Clyde and Vina (Sine) Gilman.
William L. 'Bill' White
William L. "Bill" White Jr., 73, died Dec. 7, 2003, in Caņon City.
He was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Boulder to William L. and Helen (Hockaday) White. He married Margaret A. Powers in Caņon City, on Oct. 25, 1958. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War where he was an aerial photographer. He had also been stationed in England.
Helen Catherine Fletcher
Helen Catherine Fletcher 74, of Florence, died Dec. 7, 2003. She was born April 23, 1929, in Edgewater N.J. to James N. and Helen M. (Ball) Bain. Mrs. Fletcher had worked as a purchasing agent for children's clothing for numerous years.
She enjoyed reading and cooking.
Roxann Rae Swearingen
Roxann Rae Swearingen, 46, of Caņon City, died Dec. 7, 2003, in Caņon City.
She was born Feb. 2, 1957, in Brainerd, Minn. to Eldon and Rosie (Fleischhacker) Swearingen. At the age of 3, she moved to Leadville. She graduated from Monte Vista High School and later moved to Poncha Springs.

Walter Ramon Belarde
Walter Ramon Belarde, 74, of Penrose, died March 28, 2004.
He was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Pagosa Springs to Adolfo and Arsenia (Chacon) Belarde. Mr. Belarde married Arlene on July 5, 1951. He served in the Armed Forces from 1951 to 1956. He worked as a licensed cosmetologist for several years.
W. Robert 'Bob' Ridgway
W. Robert "Bob" Ridgway, 95, died March 30, 2004.
He was born Dec. 20, 1908, in Boone County, Mo., to William Jackson and Daisy Delina (Roberts) Ridgway. He was born and raised in Missouri, moved to Kansas and then to Caņon City in the late 1940's.

She was born March 18, 1925, in Pratt Kan., to Cecil and Ruth Waters. The family moved to Durango in 1939. She graduated from Durango High School.
O.C. Bowden
O.C. Bowden, 91, died in his home in Caņon City, May 28, 2004.
He was born Oct. 18, 1912, in Jonesport, Maine. At age 15, he left home and worked as a farm hand and seaman on a Lighthouse tender on the coast of Maine until 1935. Next he moved to San Diego, where he worked in the shipyard as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic, and welder.
Marie N. Bailey
Marie N. Bailey, 92, died June 1, 2004, in Caņon City. A visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Holt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at Holt Chapel of the Garden with Bob Wahl officiating. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.

Stella May Cooke, 97, died Oct. 4, 2004, in Westcliffe.
She was born May 27, 1907, in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada, to Theodore and Mary Jane (Whimp) DeGraw. She moved with her family to Point Edward, Ontario, where she and her two sisters, Maria and Winifred, were raised. After high school, she worked as a telephone operator.
