Funeral services for Michael J. Korrell, 51, of Cheyenne Wells, Colo., will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Cheyenne Wells High School Auditorium.
Burial will follow at the Sheridan Lake Cemetery in Sheridan Lake, Colo.
Visitation was held on Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Cheyenne Wells.
Korrell was born on May 3, 1957 in Cheyenne Wells, Colo. and died on July 20, 2008 at his home in Cheyenne Wells.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Rita Korrell; grandparents; three uncles and one aunt.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Korrell of the family home in Cheyenne Wells; children, Caleb Korrell and Carli Korrell; one sister, Charlotte (Jerry) Frazzini of Denver, Colo.; aunts/uncles, Bill and Joyce Colvin of Kit Carson, Colo., Kevin and Vicki Baker of Rantoul, Ill., Gertrude Haug of Denver, Colo., Bob and Hazel Korrell of Cheyenne, Wy.; mother/father-in-law, Bill and Charlotte Woelk of Eads, Colo.; nephew, Kraig Lowe of Denver, Colo. as well as numerous other family members and many friends.

Wilhemene C. Trahern
Funeral services for Lamar resident, Wilhemene C. Trahern, age 90, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday July 25, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Walsh, Colo. Reverend Cecil Burhenn will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Walsh Cemetery in Walsh, Colo.
Visitation for Mrs. Trahern will be held from 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday July 24, 2008 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.
Wilhemene Trahern was born on November 14, 1917 in Seibert, Colo. and died on Monday July 21, 2008 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side.
Mrs. Trahern was preceded in death by her father and mother, J.W. and Ruthe May Garnhart both of Pueblo; by her husband, Ora L. Trahern of Lamar on March 20, 2007; by one daughter, Judy Marinac of Lamar on January 23, 2003; and by two sisters, Floris Sutphin of Lamar and Gynuth Garnhart of Pueblo.
Mrs. Trahern is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Max) Pflughoft of Hysham, Mt.; and Betty Trahern (Manuel Rincon) of LaVeta, Colo.; by one son-in-law, Mike Marinac of Lamar; by twelve grandchildren to include, Mitchell Camp of Boulder, Colo. and Shaylene (Marvin) Rosencrans of Littleton, Colo.; by fourteen great grandchildren; and by two sisters, Adair Simmons of Modesto, Calif.; and Faye Johnson of Cottonwood, Ariz. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Graveside funeral services for former longtime Lamar, Colo. resident, Ina M. McMillan, age 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2008 at the Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colo. Reverend Ian Blacker will officiate the service.

Mrs. McMillan was born on January 8, 1929 in Lane County, Kansas and died on Thursday July 17, 2008 in the Westchester Skilled Nursing Center in Tempe, Arizona.
Mrs. McMillan was preceded in death by her father, Fred S. Albers of Pleasanton, Kan.; by her mother, Jennie L. James-Albers of Granada, Colo.; by her husband, Richard “Dick” McMillan of Lamar in October of 1980; by two sons, Davvie McMillan in November of 1980; and Richard McMillan in 1947; along with eleven brothers and sisters.
Ina is survived by seven children, Ina (James) McCleary of Muscantine, Ia.; Betty (Rod) Scobee of Chandler, Ariz.; Susan (Bill) Bowles of Lyons, Kan.; Richard (Sharon) McMillan of Apache Junction, Ariz.; Don (Jennie) McMillan of San Diego, Calif.; Danny (Christy) McMillan of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; and Darlie (Tammy) McMillan of Denver, Colo.; by twenty-three grandchildren; by two great grandchildren; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Bruce L. Kulp, Lamar, CO
1946 - 2008
A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Lamar High School Auditorium, Lamar, Colo. Daughter, Lindsay, longtime friend, Butch Weber and Rev. Ian Blacker contributed to the memorial with “Bruce” stories and accomplishments.
Bruce was born July 21, 1946 at Pottstown, Penn. to Horace and Thelma Kulp and passed away May 31, 2008 in Pueblo, Colo. with his family by his side. Bruce was 61.
Bruce lived his life with pure enjoyment. From playing baseball (catcher) in high school to working on the Silverton train while in college at Ft. Lewis in Durango, Colo. he was always out for adventure. As a basketball official, hunter safety instructor, teacher, dog lover, chef, dad, brother and friend, he was a kind and caring man. His humor brightened many a day.
The last few years of his life Bruce loved nothing better that to “shoot the breeze” with friends and family. As he so loved to say, “come back again when you can’t stay so long.”
Mr. Kulp was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Thelma Kulp. He is survived by his children, Pamela Kulp Green of Aztec, N.M., Jeffrey Kulp of Canton, Mich., Rhonda (Brian) Edwards of Arlington, Texas, Michael (Stephanie) Kulp of Shawnee, Kan., Lindsay Kulp of Pueblo, Colo. and sister Janet (Robert) Griswold of Pottstown, Penn. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lorena and James Green, Kaymin and Kassidy Edwards, Hannah Kulp and newborn, Michael G. Kulp, Jr. Numerous basketball officials, former students, longtime friends and “family by heart” Barb and Chris Heist also survive.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southeast Colorado Basketball Association.

A celebration of Life for longtime Prowers County resident Mary Ellen Bever will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Peacock Family Chapel. Ian Blacker of the Lamar Christian Church will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Mary Ellen was born December 24, 1911 at Ingraham, Illinois to Grant and Viola (Graham) Kepp and died at the age of 96 on July 20, 2008 at the Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly, Colo.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Everett Bever in 1982 and her parents Grant and Viola (Graham) Kepp. She was also preceded by her three sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her children Pauline Kepp of Alamosa, Colo., Ellis (Bessie) Bever of Lamar, Colo., Lonnie (Diane) Bever of Holly, Colo. and Louise (Keith) Clark of rural Bristol, Colo. Mary Ellen is also survived by her five grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and three Great-Great-Grandchildren. Her sister Ruby Sniff of Lamar and a brother Grant (June) Kepp of Cheyenne, Wy. also survive as well as many friends and other family members.

Mrs. Gordon was born on April 27, 1912 in Holly, Colo. and died on Sunday July 20, 2008 at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Alexander and Molly Wagner both of Holly; by her husband, Alvin M. “Bill” Gordon of Holly on December 9, 1993; by one son, Charles M. Gordon of Holly on March 14, 1997; by one brother, Charles Wagner of Holly; and by one sister, Martha Newkirk of Conway, Ariz.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by one son, Marshal “Bob” Gordon of Holly; by three grandchildren, Tami (Sam) Frenchman of Eufaula, Okla.; Ron Gordon of Brunswick, Ga.; and Jay Gordon of Norfolk, Va.; by five great grandchildren; by three sisters, Esther Ruggles of Denver, Colo.; Lillian Decinick of Longmont, Colo.; and Edith Barnes of Holly; and by one brother, Vernon (Diane) Wagner of Great Bend, Kan. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Loren Tempel
A service of celebration for lifelong Big Bend area farmer/rancher, Loren Tempel will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Reverend Trevor Potter of the Wiley United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Wiley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Loren was born November 28, 1936 at Lamar to Lawrence H. and Hazel B. (Goff) Tempel and died unexpectedly at his home on July 21, 2008 at the age of 71.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents; uncles Bob and Ernest Tempel and a nephew Keith Tempel. He is also preceded by his maternal grandparents Roscoe and Ethel Goff and paternal grandparents Ernest Sr. and Gladys Tempel.
He is survived by his wife, Guyla Tempel of the family home in Wiley; children, Curtis (Cathy) Tempel of Wiley, Coleen (Danny) Tinnes of Lamar; grandchildren, Lauren and Luke Tinnes and Amber, Zane and Erin Tempel. He is also survived by his brother, Gale (Melody) Tempel of Wiley; nephews, Adam (Staci) Tempel and family, and Jake (Cherie) Tempel and family. Aunts and Uncles George (Georgetta) Tempel and Ethel Tempel all of Wiley and Dorothy Tempel of Fort Collins also survive.

Gerald E. “Jerry” Taulman
A Service of Celebration for lifelong Lamar resident, Gerald E. “Jerry” Taulman was held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor Jack Martin officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation was held, Friday, August 22, 2008 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Jerry was born at Lamar, Colorado on July 18, 1939 to Wilbert E. and Wilda S. (Kelley) Taulman and passed away on August 20, 2008 at Prowers Medical Center at the age of 69.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Orville Taulman and Don Taulman.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Viola of the family home, children; Brenda K. Simpson of Taylor, TX, Gerald, Jr. (Terri) Taulman of Lamar and Kimberly Burgess also of Lamar. Four grandchildren; Jacinda, Gerald III, David and Cassie, six great grandchildren; Jeremiah, Cassidy, Jazlyn, Shantel, Destiny and Ebony also survive. He is also survived by his siblings; Eva Lou (Jerry) Guest of San Angelo, TX, Dick (Joan) Taulman of Lamar, Birdie (Don) Merrill of Amarillo, TX, Joyce (Fred) Hendrickson of Syracuse, KS, Jeanette (Melvin) Rodarmel of Lamar, Donna Ingland of Rocky Ford, CO and Kenny (Maria) Taulman of Chanute, KS as well his aunt, Hannah Eder of Eads, CO and brother-in-law, Kenneth Swift of Lamar. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who loved him.
