Rikke Lisbet Andersen
March 7, 1951 - May 25, 2000

Rikke Lisbet Andersen of Copenhagen, Denmark, formerly of Boulder, died of stomach cancer May 25, 2000. She was 49.

Born March 7, 1951, in Copenhagen, she was the daughter of Frederick Anderson and Eli Yowell. She married Paul Borkowski. They divorced.

Before moving to New York City, she lived in Boulder from 1987 to 1998.

She worked as a fashion photographer, stylist and was the author of "Tall and Terrific," published in 1985.

Survivors include a son, Nicholas Borkowski of Denmark; her mother of Meeker, Okla.; a brother, Hans Fris-Andersen; and two step-brothers, Peter and Frank Andersen, all of Denmark.

George Edward Bender
Nov. 27, 1917 - Sept. 22, 2000

George Edward Bender of Nederland died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in Boulder. He was 82.

He was born Nov. 27, 1917, in Bado, Mo., to Isaac Levi Bender and Rachael A. England Bender. He married Marla Jean Shackelton in Burr Oak, Kan., on Jan. 9, 1940. They divorced.

Mr. Bender was a mechanic. He enjoyed camping.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Bender of Brighton, Jimmy Bender of Northglenn and Eddie Bender of Colorado Springs; four daughters, Helen Troeger of Highlands Ranch, Gerry Babson of Las Vegas, Patty Kline of Longmont and Bonnie Bender of Rollinsville; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil; and a sister, Opal.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Ambassador Baptist Church, 2015 W. Third Ave., Longmont. Internment will be at Burr Oak Cemetery in Kansas.

Terri Bodhaine
Nov. 7, 1946 - Sept. 24, 2000Terri Bodhaine of Boulder died of breast cancer Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Hospice of Boulder County in Louisville. She was 53.

Born Nov. 7, 1946, in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, she was the daughter of Donald B. Sturrock and Marjorie Gloch Sturrock. She married Barry A. Bodhaine on Aug. 15, 1970, in Tacoma, Wash.

She was a learning disabilities specialist at the University of Colorado and director of Disability Services.

She earned a master's degree from CU.

Mrs. Bodhaine lived in Hawaii after her marriage and moved to Boulder in 1976.

She enjoyed gourmet cooking.

Survivors include her husband of Boulder; a son, Bryan Bodhaine of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a daughter, Malia Bodhaine of Denver; her parents of University Place, Wash.; a sister, Deidre Little of El Cajon, Calif.; and a brother, Duncan Sturrock of Gig Harbor, Wash.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Crist Mortuary Chapel, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder.

Emajane Enrietto
Sept. 11, 1927 - Sept. 25, 2000

Emajane Enrietto of Louisville died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in Louisville. She was 73.

A native of Louisville, she was born Sept. 11, 1927, to James and Olive Clark Sneddon. She married Robert Enrietto Aug. 28, 1948, in Louisville.

She was a homemaker. Mrs. Enrietto enjoyed carving, tole painting and genealogy.

Survivors include her husband of Louisville; a daughter, Paula Enrietto of Lafayette; a son, David Enrietto of Longmont; a brother, Robert Sneddon of Louisville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Louisville Cemetery, Colo. 42 and 104th Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Boulder County Hospice or Louisville Historical Museum in care of Darrell Howe Mortuary, 1701 W. South Boulder Road, Lafayette, CO 80026.

Steven P. Hemmerle
Sept. 14, 1957 - Sept. 25, 2000

Steven P. Hemmerle of Boulder died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000. He was 43.

Born Sept. 14, 1957, in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of Eugene E. Hemmerle and Helen B. Fluegge Hemmerle. He married Karen K. Jackson on Sept. 4, 1982, in Boulder.

He worked for the law firm of Barrows and Sisun, now known as Sisun and Hemmerle.

He moved from New York to Boulder in 1968. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1975, summa cum laude from the University of Colorado in 1979 and from the CU law school in 1982.

Mr. Hemmerle enjoyed movies and music.

Survivors include his wife of Boulder; and his father of Niwot.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 2121 11th St., Boulder.

Contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Center at Boulder Community Hospital, 1100 Balsam Ave., Boulder, CO 80304.

Martha Jean Laughlin
Feb. 11, 1909 - Sept. 22, 2000

Martha Jean Laughlin of Boulder died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in Boulder. She was 91.

The daughter of Frank Lafferty and Fay Douglas Lafferty, she was born Feb. 11, 1909, in Forest, Ohio. She married Azel A. Laughlin in July 1935 in Forest. He preceded her in death

Mrs. Laughlin was a homemaker and helped her husband in his printing business in Circleville, Ohio.

She attended Oberlin College and Capitol University in Ohio.

She moved to Boulder in 1975 from Athen, Ohio.

Survivors include a son, Austin Laughlin of Gardner, Colo.

No services are planned.

Crist Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Pamela Ruth Mason
March 14, 1916 - Sept. 13, 2000

Pamela Ruth Mason of Greenland, Ark., formerly of Boulder, died Sept. 13, 2000, in Anchorage, Alaska. She was 84.

She was born March 14, 1916, in Long Island, N.Y., to Edwin Kittle and Elsie Imandt Kittle. She married Hubert Lee Mason on Feb. 14, 1936, in Rockville Center, N.Y. He died in 1996.

Mrs. Mason lived in Boulder from 1965 to 1977.

She attend Cooper Union Art School in New York, the Maryland Institute of Art and the Art Center in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Mason was an artist, and her works were exhibited nationally. She was also associated with numerous galleries and painting groups, including the Boulder Artists' Guild.

She was an accomplished fencer, winning numerous titles.

Survivors include her son, Michael Mason of Anchorage; and three grandchildren.

No services are planned.

Clyde Ingram Meyering
April 4, 1922 - Sept. 2, 2000

Clyde Ingram Meyering of San Diego, formerly of Boulder, died Sept. 2, 2000, while working in his yard. He was 78.

The son of Bernard I. Meyering and Grace Hoover Meyering, he was born April 4, 1922, in Buena Vista, Texas. He married Eilene Livingston on July 6, 1944, in Boulder.

Mr. Meyering graduated from Boulder High School in 1941. He attended the University of Colorado before enlisting in the Coast Guard in 1942, where he spent 19 months in Alaska. He was also stationed in Atlantic City, N.J. He moved to California and was a self-employed distributor of dairy products and bottled water in the San Diego area.

One of his grandfathers, Henry Meyering, came to Salina, west of Boulder, in 1875 and discovered the Melvina gold mine. His other grandfather, Moses Hoover, was a well-known farmer in the Boulder area and served as county commissioner.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Meyering of Mill Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Karol Smith of Port Angeles, Wash.; a sister, Caroline Shepherd of Boulder; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton; and a granddaughter.

Services were held Sept. 8 in San Diego.

Greenwood Mortuary handled arrangements.

Florence Rose Vigil
June 15, 1934 - Sept. 25, 2000

Florence Rose Vigil of Boulder died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in Longmont. She was 66.

The daughter of Claudio Dominguez and Gertrude Samora Dominguez, she was born June 15, 1934, in Walsenburg. She married Kenneth Virgil. They divorced and he preceded her in death.

She lived in Walsenburg and Erie before moving to Boulder in 1974.

She was a homemaker and worked at Coors Packaging and Barber's Poultry in Broomfield.

She was a member of Saint Scholastica Catholic Church in Erie.

Survivors include three sons, Tim "Bubbles" Vigil of Longmont, Ken Vigil of Boulder and Randy Vigil of Longmont; a daughter, Laurie Herrera of Lafayette; a brother, Pete Dominguez of Denver; three sisters, Ersie Katich of Erie, Sophie Sandoval of Tucumcari, N.M., and Virginia Rodriquez of Erie; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Erie. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Visitation also will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, one hour prior to a Mass of Christian burial at the church. The Rev. Xavier Espinosa will officiate. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery.

Dale Hugh Coble
July 21, 1914 - Sept. 27, 2000

Dale Hugh Coble of Boulder died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at his home. He was 86.

He was born July 21, 1914, in Sedgwick, Kan., to Hugh E. Coble and Viola Hume Coble. He married Louise Sipes, on Jan. 29, 1938, in Wichita, Kan. She died on May 11, 2000.

Mr. Coble moved to Colorado in 1958 and to Boulder in 1959. He worked at Coors Brewing Company's porcelain plant in Golden, and later as a process operator at Rocky Flats for Dow Chemical and Rockwell International, retiring in 1980. He was a member and volunteer at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville. He also volunteered as a Fairview High School Band parent. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, camping and puzzles.

Survivors include a son, Richard Coble of Boulder; a daughter, Patricia Bates of Oklahoma City; a sister, Neva Coble of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Ann Diaz; two brothers; a sister; and a great-granddaughter.

A Rosary will be read from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Crist Chapel, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, 925 Grant St., Louisville. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder.
