Fred Richard Stenbuck
Sept. 25, 1923 - July 25, 2000

Fred Richard Stenbuck of Boulder died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at the Hospice of Boulder County Care Center in Louisville. He was 76.

He was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Herman Stenbuck and Bess Shacoff Stenbuck. He married Muriel E. Grabow in 1952. She preceded him in death in 1981.

He graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He attended the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y., and received a degree in bio-medical photography.

He moved to Colorado from Toledo, Ohio, and has lived in Boulder since 1998.

He was a former salesperson for various manufacturing concerns. He worked as a bio-medical photographer for various hospitals and was a member of the Bio-Medical Photographic Association.

He was a volunteer at the Museum of Natural History in Denver and was a community volunteer at various Denver hospitals.

Survivors include a son, Neil Stenbuck of Boulder; a daughter, Debra Sanders of Anchorage, Alaska; and two grandchildren.

Private family memorial services will be held.

Louise M. Strandlund
March 5, 1912 - July 25, 2000

Louise M. Strandlund of Louisville died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Louisville. She was 88.

She was born March 5, 1912, in Paragould, Ark., to Oscar Robb and Maggie Thomas Robb. She married Eric A. Strandlund on Sept. 20, 1930, in Chicago. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Strandlund moved to Boulder County in 1999 from San Diego, Calif.

She was an entertainer. She sang and played guitar and performed with her husband.

She was a member of the Unity Church in San Diego.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Strandlund of Lafayette and Rob Strandlund of Colorado Springs; a sister, Mary Anderson of Lynden, Wash.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

No local service is planned.

Margaret Trebs
Sept. 14, 1920 - July 26, 2000

Margaret Trebs of Boulder died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, in Boulder. She was 79.

She was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Portland, Ore., to LeRoy A. Hansen and Minnie Stieben Hansen. She married Arthur A. Trebs on July 17, 1948, in Stevenson, Wash. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Trebs moved to Boulder from Oregon 3½ years ago.

She worked as a riveter on ships during World War II and was a homemaker.

She enjoyed sewing and bowling.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol A. Fuxa of Boulder; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Edward, and two brothers.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. to day at Howe Mortuary, 2121 11th St., Boulder. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore.

Christopher Paul Zook
Jan. 3, 1956 - July 27, 2000

Christopher Paul Zook of Boulder County died Thursday, July 27, 2000, of injuries from a car accident on Colo. 93 south of Boulder. He was 44.

He was born Jan. 3, 1956, in Hayward, Calif., to Ronald Zook and Sylvia Price-Williams Zook. He married Nancy Phares O'Donnell on May 26, 1990, in Boulder.

Mr. Zook was principal engineer for the technology group in the magnetic storage division of Cirrus Logic, where he had worked since 1992. He was an inventor, digital logic designer and expert in digital signal processing. He specialized in error-correcting systems and coding for storage devices.

He was the top patent-holder at Cirrus Logic, with 44 patents issued and 17 pending. In addition, he held more than a dozen patents dating back to 1989 from his work at Storage Technology and Exabyte.

He attended the Air Force Academy, the University of Colorado at Denver and the University of Colorado at Boulder. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1979 and a master's in electrical engineering in 1989.

He moved to Boulder County in 1980.

Survivors include his wife of Boulder County; a daughter, Kelly Phares-Zook of Boulder County; a stepdaughter, Megan Phares of Fort Collins; his father and mother of Salem, Ore.; and a sister, Lori Zabroski of Salem.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2312 14th St., Boulder. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Boulder.

Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, 2323 55 St., Boulder, CO 80301.

David Alan Annecone
Dec. 28, 1962 - July 17, 2000

David Alan Annecone of Boulder died Monday, July 17, 2000. He was 37.

He was born Dec. 28, 1962, in San Jose, Calif., to Robert Annecone and Elizabeth Killmartin Gaunt.

Two months ago, he moved to Boulder. Prior to that, he lived in Los Angeles. He enjoyed antiques, music, gardening and poetry.

Survivors include his mother of Boulder; his father of Langley, Wash.; a brother, Stephen Annecone of Boulder; two half brothers, Jason and John Annecone of California; his grandmother, Anna Marie Annecone of San Jose; and grandparents, William and Margaret Killmartin of SunnyVale, Calif.

Memorial services were held in Northern California.

Arthur Henry Ditzen
May 16, 1913 - July 30, 2000

Arthur Henry Ditzen of Boulder died Sunday, July 30, 2000. He was 87.

Born May 16, 1913, in Willow City, N.D., he was the son of William Ditzen and Clara Hildebrandt Ditzen. He married Margaret Taylor in 1954 in Boulder.

Mr. Ditzen moved to Boulder in 1952 from Nebraska. He worked for Bauldi Moschette.

He was an avid small game hunter and a member of the Muffin Club and Mount Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife of Mesa, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Sheri Weaver of Clifton, Colo.; a stepson, Richard Taylor of Eugene, Ore.; three sisters, Amalia Williams and Martha Ditzen, both of Boulder, and Lenore Haynes of Omaha, Neb.; and a brother, Robert Ditzen of Ralston, Neb.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 1680 Balsam Ave., Boulder, 80304. The Rev. Neal F. MacLachlan will officiate. Interment will be held at Green Mountain Cemetery.

Erma A. Evans
July 27, 1906 - July 29, 2000

Erma A. Evans of Boulder died at the Boulder County Hospice Center in Louisville on Saturday, July 29, 2000. She was 94.

The daughter of Louis Abbott and Mary Abbott, she was born July 27, 1906, in St. John's, Kan. She married F.S. "Bob" Evans on June 24, 1951, in Stafford, Kan. He died in 1987.

She attended St. John High School and graduated as salutatorian in 1924. She received an advanced teaching certificate from Fort Hays State College.

Mrs. Evans was a school teacher for 23 years, owned a beauty shop and Evans Investment Co.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. John.

She moved to Boulder in 1992.

Survivors include her stepson, Gerald L. Evans of Boulder, three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Louis Allen Abbott.

Services will be held Wednesday in St. John, Kan.

Lillian E. Jones
Aug. 21, 1924 - July 30, 2000

Lillian E. Jones of Lafayette died Sunday, July 30, 2000, in Boulder. She was 75.

The daughter of Henry P. Befus and Anna M. Schlagel Befus, she was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Sheboygan, Wisc. She married Leslie C. Jones in 1948 in Denver. He died in 1992.

She moved to the Boulder area in 1952 from Cheyenne, Wyo.

Mrs. Jones worked at Bank One, formerly First National Bank of Boulder, for 15 years before retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lafayette and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include a son, Howard Jones of Estes Park; two brothers, Raymond Befus of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Jacob Befus of Houston; a sister, Emma Honstein of Longmont; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 200 W. Cleveland, Lafayette.

Francis R. Lockwood
Oct. 20, 1910 - July 30, 2000

Francis R. Lockwood of Longmont died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at the Applewood Living Center in Longmont. He was 89.

Born Oct. 20, 1910, in Fort Morgan, he was the son of Dr. Frederick W. Lockwood and Anna Riordan Lockwood. He married Phyllis W. Whiteley on Feb. 10, 1934, in Denver. She died May 24, 1981.

He grew up in the Fort Morgan area, graduating from Fort Morgan High School in 1928. He attended the University of Colorado before serving in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Lockwood moved to Boulder in 1935. He retired in 1977 from CU, where he worked as maintenance superintendent.

He was an avid reader, a poet and a gardener.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Grant of Longmont and Karen Meyer of Louisville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Lockwood and Phil Lockwood, and a sister, Marian Lockwood.

Private family graveside inurnment memorial services will be held at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder at a later date.

Memorials my be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont, CO 80501.
