James Mitchell Edmund

James Mitchell Edmund of Boulder died Sunday, July 16, 2000. He was 86.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1913, in Lansing, Mich., to Charles E. Edmund and Kathryn Mitchell Edmund. He married Olive Boatman on June 8, 1973, in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Edmund graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1935. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Naval Intelligence.
He enjoyed tennis, skiing, music, traveling, hiking and badminton. He was a member of Arion Gesangverein Choir and Senior Saints Choir in Boulder.
Survivors include his wife of Boulder; daughter, Louisa E. Kraft of Golden; son, Charles E. Edmund of Boulder; sister, Kathryn Savides of Merrimac, Wisc.; and six grandchildren
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret "Midge" Allen, Jane King and Doris Edmund.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment was at Myers Cemetery
in Girard, Kan.

Mary Louise Green Haslam
June 8, 1918 - July 16, 2000
Mary Louise Green Haslam of Louisville died Sunday, July 16, 2000, in Boulder. She was 82.
The daughter of Dr. David E. Green and Alice Armsby Green, she was born June 8, 1918, in Fort Scott, Kan. She married John J. Haslam Sr. on May 31, 1942, in Lawrence, Kan.
She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Kansas and an elementary teaching certificate at Lamar University.
Mrs. Haslam taught second grade from 1967 to 1982. She later was a homemaker.
She was a board member of the Texas division of the American Association of University Women from 1959 to 1969 and state president from 1965 to 1967. She was active in the Bolder Boulder for eight years, through 1999, was a Red Cross swimming instructor and a Campfire Girl and Boy Scout leader.
Mrs. Haslam moved to Boulder in 1986 and enjoyed backpacking, mountain climbing, animals and nature.
Survivors include her husband of Louisville; son, David Haslam of Boulder; a daughter, Anne Walker of El Paso, Texas; a sister, Annie Hodgson, of Little River, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John J. Haslam Jr.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Avalon Funeral Home, 1320 Centaur Village Drive, Lafayette.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. at Green Mountain Cemetery
in Lafayette. The Rev. Mike Houlek will officiate.

Lois Lorene Ward
Aug. 12, 1915 - July 15, 2000
Lois Lorene Ward of Boulder died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at her home in Boulder. She was 84.
She was born to Luther Logan Arbuckle and Minnie Arbuckle in Weir, Kan., Aug. 12, 1915. She married Granville Dorsey Ward III April 7, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Ward was a homemaker. She moved to Boulder from Birmingham, Mich., in 1983.
Survivors include her husband of Boulder; three sons, Granville D. Ward IV of Boulder, George Ward of Baytown, Texas, and David Ward of Kailua, Hawaii; a daughter, Deborah Lockwood of Boulder; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder. Her remains will be cremated and interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Park.
Joseph Sye Davis
Sept. 25, 1907 - July 15, 2000
Joseph Sye Davis of Louisville died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at his home in Louisville. He was 92.
The son of Nestor Davis and Louise Garcia Davis, he was born in Fort Collins on Sept. 25, 1907. He married Emma Davis . She died in May of 1979. He married Ruth Cottrell-Bowes on May 8, 1984, in Boulder.
Mr. Davis was a baker for 35 years with Miller Bakery.
He attended Huerfano County Public Schools.
He moved to Boulder County in 1984.
He was an avid dancer.
Survivors include his second wife of Boulder; a son, Joe Davis Jr. of Denver; three daughters, Betty Scruby of Denver, Sandy Shaw of Lakewood, and Barbara Sheldon of Larkspur; a sister, Agnes Villareal of Denver; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
A mass will be at 1 p.m. today at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 2190 S. Sheridan in Denver. Pastor Rev. Leo Harrison and Rev. Michael O'Brien will officiate.
Interment will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery
at 3 p.m.

Suzanne Lippincott
Oct. 1, 1954 - July 16, 2000
Suzanne Lippincott of Ault, formerly of Longmont, died Sunday, July 16, 2000. She was 45.
She was born Oct. 1, 1954, in Longmont to Charles Lippincott and Shirley Westover Lippincott. She married Michael A. Myers.
Raised in Longmont, Mrs. Lippincott was a homemaker. She enjoyed hiking and the outdoors.
Survivors include her husband of Ault; her parents of Eaton; a brother, Tom Lippincott of Berthoud; and a sister, Pat Lippincott of Denver.
A celebration of life gathering will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Left Hand Grange Hall, 195 Second St., Niwot.
Cremation will take place at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Mary Miller Proctor
Aug. 11, 1907 - July 18, 2000
Mary Miller Proctor of Boulder died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at Frasier Meadows Manor. She was 92.
Born Aug. 11, 1907, in Winnetka, Ill., she was the daughter of William S. Miller and Susan Talmadge Miller. She married Charles N. Proctor on Sept. 13, 1932, in Winnetka. He preceded her in death.
She attended Vassar College from 1925 to 1927 and received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Tuffs College in May 1930.
Mrs. Proctor was a member of the PasaTiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif. She enjoyed skiing and climbing.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Dean of Ketchum, Idaho, and Nancy Pesman of Boulder; a sister, Susan Sise of Norwich, Vt.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Frasier Meadows Manor in Boulder.
