James Raymond Kane
May 19, 1941 - July 7, 2000

James Raymond Kane of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Boulder, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was 59.

The son of Henry Kane and Dorothy J. Denham Kane, he was born May 19, 1941, in Texas. He married Donna M. McKinnon.

Mr. Kane lived in Boulder from 1941 to 1948. He was a director of judges for the Tennessee Walking Horse Association.

Survivors include his wife of Murfreesboro; father of Beaverton, Ore.; a son, Jim Kane of Idaho; two step-sons, Matthew Treece of Long Beach, Calif., and David Treece of Pasadena, Calif.; two daughters, Kathy Kane of Hawaii and Leslie Kane of Washington; a brother, John R. Kane of Lake Oswego, Ore.; a sister, Wendy McDonnal of Oregon; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held today in Murfreesboro.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, 1250 S. Hover Road, Suite F2, Longmont, CO 80501.

Jennings & Ayers funeral home in Murfreesboro is in charge of arrangements.

Russell Wilson Rice Jr.
June 26, 1925 - July 4, 2000

Russell Wilson Rice Jr. of Frankfort, Ky., formerly of Boulder, died in Lexington, Ky., on Tuesday, July 4, 2000. He was 75.

The son of R. Wilson Rice and Louise Wood Rice, he was born in Frankfort on June 26, 1925. He married Billie Marie Collins in Lexington, Ky., on Jan. 2, 1948.

He graduated from the University of Kentucky. He was a veteran of the Marines and the Air Force, serving in World War II and Korea. He lived in Boulder for 15 years while working as a mechanical engineer for IBM.

Mr. Rice was a member of the Living Waters Church and was an ordained minister with the New Life Christian Fellowship in Sullivan, Mo. He was an ordained minister with the Rocky Mountain Fellowship in Denver, had been president of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association in Lexington, Elder with the Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Lexington and a pastor at the Agape Fellowship Church in Louisville, Ky.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Rice Schreiner of Seattle; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held in Frankfort on Friday. He will be buried at Frankfort Cemetery.

Rogers Funeral Home in Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.

Sidney Moritz Clark
Feb. 4, 1940 - July 9, 2000

Sidney Moritz Clark of Lafayette died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at Terrace Heights Care Center. He was 60.

The son of Glen F. Clark and Marie Moritz Clark, he was born Feb. 4, 1940, in Monte Vista. He married Grace Couch on June 12, 1970, in Durango. She died in 1994.

Mr. Clark served in the Army from 1962 to 1968. He was a sheet metal worker.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Clark of Stuttgart, Germany, and Mark Clark of Lafayette.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Avalon Funeral Home in Lafayette is in charge of arrangements.

Dora Eastman
Aug. 29, 1939 - July 10, 2000

Dora Eastman of Boulder died Monday, July 10, 2000, at her home. She was 60.

The daughter of Abelardo Manriquez and Laura Garcia Manriquez, she was born Aug. 29, 1939, in LaPaz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. She married Gerald S. Eastman on April 11, 1981, in Boulder.

She worked at Boulder Community Hospital from 1980 to 1990 and at the regal Harvest House from 1993 to 1996.

Mrs. Eastman enjoyed quilting and antiques.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Laura Moyer of Boulder; her mother of LaPaz, Mexico; four brothers, Bernardo Manriquez, Enrique Manriquez, Alberto Manriquez and Alonso Manriquez, all of LaPaz; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Flagstaff Amphitheater. A potluck breakfast will follow at Chautauqua Park.

Maria Meng
June 11, 1936 - July 6, 2000

Maria Meng of Boulder died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at her home. She was 64.

The daughter of Peter Giess and Ernestine Geiger Giess, she was born June 11, 1936, in Yugoslavia. She married Hermann Meng on Nov. 4, 1957, in Denver.

Mrs. Meng, who immigrated to the United States from Germany during World War II, was a cake decorator. She moved to Boulder County in 1988.

Survivors include her husband of Boulder; two daughters, Haidee Cave of Sacramento, Calif., and Susan Meng of Edgewater; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services were held.

Contributions may be made to the hospice of Boulder County, 2825 Marine St., Boulder, CO 80303.

Kathryn J. Murray
Aug. 29, 1903 - July 9, 2000

Kathryn J. Murray of Boulder died Sunday, July 9, 2000. She was 96.

Born Aug. 29, 1903, in Kenton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Roy Cessna and Gertrude Fleming Cessna. She married Paul Murray on June 18, 1929, in Longmont. He preceded her in death.

She worked at the Longmont Daily Times-Call in the 1920s and 1930s and at the Colorado Bookstore in the 1970s.

Mrs. Murray lived in Longmont from 1910 to 1944, moved to Sterling, then moved to Boulder in 1951.

She was a member of the hospital auxiliary and active at the First United Methodist Church in Boulder.

Survivors include a son, Max Murray of Boulder; two daughters, Barbara Fentiman of Santa Fe, N.M., and Elaine Fitch of Louisville; a brother, George Cessna of Boulder; a sister, Rachel Walls of Longmont; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Isabel Reed.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 1421 Spruce St., Boulder. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park.

Majiba Ann Reichner
June 16, 1938 - June 30, 2000

Majiba Ann Reichner of Nederland and formerly of Boulder died Friday, June 30, 2000, in Boulder from complications of cancer. She was 62.

She was born June 16, 1938, in the Bronx, New York City, and was orphaned shortly after birth. She was adopted at age 2 by Morris Levy and Mildred Garfunkel Levy of New Rochelle, N.Y., and her name was changed from Edwina Wasserman to Ann Lois Levy.

She married Albert Reichner in 1958. They divorced in 1974. She married Mark Moll on June 13, 1992, in Boulder.

Ms. Reichner was an artist. She started Gallery 9, an art gallery in Los Altos, Calif., and her artwork was shown in various places around the country, including New York City. She helped start the Nederland Artist Co-op.

She graduated from New Rochelle High School in New York. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Boston University in 1961.

She participated in West Coast spiritual groups and traveled to India, where she met Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, who gave her the spiritual name Majiba. She was a founder of Rajneesh Puram, an Oregon commune, where she lived from 1981 to 1986, when she moved to Boulder. She moved to Nederland in 1992 but continued to be active in Boulder art groups.

In Nederland she was a volunteer for the visitors' center and was a member of the Planning Commission since 1996.

Survivors include her husband of Nederland; a brother, Leonard Levy of Raymond, Maine; two sons, Steven Reichner and Nathan Reichner, both of San Jose, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Wellington Yau
Aug. 10, 1980 - July 4, 2000

Wellington Yau of Boulder drowned on July 4, 2000. He was 19.

The son of William Yau and Linda Liu Yau, he was born Aug. 10, 1980, in Aurora.

Mr. Yau served in the Marine Reserves since January 1999 and was a sophomore at the University of Colorado.

He enjoyed music.

Survivors include his mother and father of Denver and a brother, Henry Yau of Denver.

Visitation and funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Care, 8600 E. Hampden Ave., Denver. The Rev. Rodolfu Biera will officiate.

Walter Galush Jr.
Nov. 30, 1950-July 9, 2000

Walter Galush Jr. of Boulder died Sunday, July 9, 2000. He was 49.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1950, in Elizabeth, N.J., to Walter Galush and Alyce A. Speecher Galush.

He graduated from Kean College in Union, N.J., in 1977.

He moved to Boulder from New Jersey in 1978. He worked as a building trades mechanic for the University of Colorado.

He was a collector of the Buick Riviera and a member of the Riviera Club. He enjoyed fishing and music.

Survivors include his sister, Carol Galush of Linden, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Old Main Chapel on the CU campus.
