Stanley Sumerell

Stanley Sumerell of Superior died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, in Denver. He was 80.
He was born Sept. 7, 1919, in El Paso, Texas, to Stanley Sumerell Sr. and Loretta Wilson Sumerell. He married Jean Trembley in June 1940, in Denver.
Mr. Sumerell was a self-employed stockbroker before his retirement. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1936 to 1940.
He moved to Boulder County in 1997. He enjoyed golfing and skiing.
Survivors include his wife of Louisville, a son, James Sumerell of Boulder; a daughter, Sandra Miller of Louisville, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at a later date in Texas. Cremation has occurred.
Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Elaine Margaret Edwards
Oct. 2, 1909 - Oct. 10, 1999
Elaine Margaret Edwards of Boulder died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in Boulder. She was 90.
She was born Oct. 2, 1909, in Granville, Ill., to John Arthur Neilson and Beatrice Sparling Neilson. She married John Erle Edwards Oct. 20, 1931, in Oak Park, Ill.
Mrs. Edwards moved to Boulder in 1991 from Glen Ellyn, Ill.
She attended Redlands University in Redlands, Calif.
She was a secretary public schools in Hinsdale, Ill.
She was a member of the Glen Ellyn Presbyterian Church, where she also was a pianist. She was the former president of the Clarendon Hills Womens' Club in Illinois.
She was a painter and an artist.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeri Joseph of Louisville; a son, Jeffrey Kent Edwards of Wheaton, Ill.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 5:30 p.m. today at Crist Mortuary Chapel, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder. The Rev. John Hess of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Restland Cemetery
in Mendota, Ill.

Cecil Kenneth Truitt
March 12, 1932 - Oct. 9, 1999
Cecil Kenneth Truitt of Boulder died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Boulder. He was 67.
He was born March 12, 1932, in Madison, N.C., to Charles Cecil Truitt and Bertha Cox Truitt. He married Patsy Gail Hopper on June 7, 1959, in Forest City, N.C.
Mr. Truitt moved to Boulder in 1997 from Monroe, N.C.
He was a banker in Monroe.
He was active in civic affairs and president of the Monroe chapter of Kiwanis International. He was a member of the Masonic Order and the First Baptist Church in Boulder.
Mr. Truitt served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
Survivors include his wife of Boulder; and a son, Brian Truitt of Boulder.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, 1237 Pine St., Boulder. The Revs. Stan Smith and Nancy Darnell will officiate.

Andr Pasquer
June 18, 1927 - Oct. 9, 1999
Andr Pasquer of Boulder died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at his home after a long illness. He was 72.
He was born June 18, 1927, in Cormeilles, France, to Marcel Pasquer and Mireille Hugon Pasquer. He married Marcia Guildner in Hastings, Neb., on June 11, 1966.
Mr. Pasquer founded the Denver International School with his wife in 1977. He was a professor.
Survivors include his wife of Boulder; two sons, Erik Pasquer and Ian Pasquer, both of Boulder; and a daughter, Mimi Pasquer of Boulder.
A private family service will be held. Cremation has occurred.

Dominic Thomas Tisone
March 21, 1916 - Oct. 11, 1999
Dominic Thomas Tisone of Boulder died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, in Boulder. He was 83.
He was born March 21, 1916, in Brookside, Colo., to Thomas Tisone and Rafaella Putane Tisone. He married Edythe Reese on Sept. 7, 1939, in Boulder.
Mr. Tisone owned Boulder Mattress and Awning. He lived in Boulder since 1920.
He enjoyed golf and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of Boulder; a son, David Tisone of Lyons; a daughter, Donna Kenny of Battlement Mesa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Darrell Howe Chapel, 10203 South Boulder Road, Lafayette.
Graveside serviceswill be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Green Mountain Cemetery
Mausoleum, Boulder.

Willis Lonnie Hammett

Willis Lonnie Hammett of Boulder died Oct. 6, 1999, in Denver. He was 32.
He was born Aug. 31, 1967, in Yuba City, Calif., to Willis Leroy Hammett and Christy Oakes Hammett. He married LaRae Barnes on April 1, 1994, in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Mr. Hammett lived in Boulder for four years. Previously, he lived in Klamath Falls.
He was a carpet layer.
Survivors include his wife of West Sacramento, Calif.; his mother of Clear Lake, Calif.; his father, Willis Hammett of Klamath Falls; a son, James Isaac Hammett of Lyons; a sister, Cathy Gilbert of Honolulu; and a half-sister, Carol Jean Hammett of Boulder.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Eben G. Fine Park, Fourth Street and Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder.

Ryan James Harrison

Ryan James Harrison of Boulder died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999. He was 20.
He was born June 12, 1979, in Los Angeles, to Damian Harrison and Dana Danushka Harrison.
Mr. Harrison was a junior business major at the University of Colorado. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and worked for Merrill Lynch while attending CU.
Survivors include his mother of Denver; his father of Denver; a sister, Danielle Harrison of Denver; and three grandparents.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1820 Broadway, Denver.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the "Ryan's Seek Help Fund," to establish a foundation for young adults in crisis at Norwest Bank, 10900 South Parker Road, Parker, Colo. 80134 and at other area Norwest banks.
Madeline Jean Iten
March 3, 1926 - May 14, 1999
Madeline Jean Iten of Boulder died Friday, May 14, 1999, in Boulder. She was 73.
She was born March 3, 1926, in Boulder to Allen Edwin Perkins and Alice May Lacer Perkins. She married William J. Iten in 1945 in Compton, Calif.
She worked as a book binder for Johnson Publishing Co. and retired in 1976.
Survivors include two sons, Ken Iten of Boulder and Mike Iten of Longmont; a daughter, Linda Stelmack of Eaton; a brother, Bud Perkins of Boulder; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1993, and a brother, Alfred Perkins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Howe Mortuary, 2121 11th St., Boulder.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary chapel. Interment will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery, 290 20th St., Boulder.
Rose C. Anderson
Jan. 1, 1904 - Oct. 18, 1999
Rose C. Anderson of Boulder died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, in Boulder. She was 95.
She was born Jan. 1, 1904, in Morrilton, Ark., to George Shaefers and Elizabeth Shaefers. She married Harry Anderson in 1933 in Detroit. He died in 1967.
Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker.
She moved to Detroit in 1922, to Birmingham, Mich., in 1933 and to Boulder in 1959. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boulder and the Social Order of Beauceant.
Survivors include a daughter, Claire Lindgren-Buchanan of Boulder; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private interment will be held.

Alma Howard
June 13, 1908 - Oct. 13, 1999
Alma Howard of Boulder died Oct. 13, 1999, at Terrace Heights Care Center of Boulder. She was 91.
She was born June 13, 1908, in Sidney, Mich., to Walter Nelson and Rose Madison Nelson. She married Cecil Howard on June 13, 1937. He died May 5, 1979.
Mrs. Howard graduated from high school at Ogemaw County Normal and Eastern Michigan University before she taught rural school and high school in Michigan. Later, she moved to Denver, where she worked in the assessors office for the city and county of Denver. She retired in 1970.
She moved to Red Feather Lakes in 1970, then to Fort Collins and to Boulder in 1990. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading and fishing.
Survivors include two sisters, Irene Cruickshank and Alice Dolby, both of Boulder.
She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Private services will be held. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery
in Denver.
