J.D. Raper
April 18, 1914 - Nov. 4, 1999
J.D. Raper of Stillwater, Okla., and a former Boulder County resident, died Nov. 4, 1999, in Stillwater. He was 85.
He was born April 18, 1914, in Italy, Texas, to Charlie Russell Raper and Mary Elizabeth Sholars Raper. He married Nancy Grace Franklin on Nov. 21, 1936, in Cushing, Okla.
Mr. Raper moved to Boulder County in 1959.
He attended schools in Texas and Council Valley, Okla.
He was a farmer, and he did bridge construction in Colorado, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Mr. Raper was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in Steamboat Springs.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Stillwater; two daughters, Joy Jensen of Boulder and Marylyn Sears of Glencoe, Okla.; three brothers, Russell Raper of Muskogee, Okla., Clyde Raper of Stillwater and Dan Raper of Drumright, Okla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held.

Mary E. Berry
March 29, 1912 - Nov. 22, 1999
Mary E. Berry of Longmont died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at Applewood Care Center in Longmont. She was 87.
She was born March 29, 1912, in Grand Junction to Richard Bond and Leona Uletta Lampshire Bond. She married Ira Lee "Tex" Berry in 1933 in Grand Junction. He died Aug. 10, 1980.
She worked for Kresses department store in the early 1930s and for Smith Chemical Co. and McKesson Chemical Co. in 1976. She volunteered as a foster grandparent in Mesa County until 1980.
Mrs. Berry moved to Longmont in 1999.
She graduated from Grand Junction High School in Mesa County.
She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting and being a foster grandparent.
Survivors include a sister, Bonnie Kohl of Allenspark; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Lee Quinton; and three brothers, Ralph Bond, Richard Bond and Francis Bond.
Services are pending.
Interment will be in Grand Junction.

Michael E. O'Shea
April 4, 1944 - Nov. 22, 1999
Michael E. O'Shea of Boulder died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in Boulder. He was 55.
He was born April 4, 1944, in Denver to William J. O'Shea and Patricia Forte O'Shea. He married Kate Tilghman April 8, 1984, in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
He was an insurance broker for Flood and Peterson Insurance Agency since 1975. He opened an agency in Boulder in 1985.
Mr. O'Shea lived in Boulder for 15 years.
He graduated from the University of Denver.
He was a member of the Boulder Country Club and was a board member and former president of the Developmental Disability Center. He enjoyed golfing, exercising, scuba diving and sailing.
Survivors include his wife of Boulder; his parents of Denver; a son, Daniel O'Shea; three brothers, Timothy O'Shea, Kevin O'Shea and Patrick O'Shea, all of Denver; and a sister, Ann Owens of Denver.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place. A rosary will be recited following the visitation at the mortuary.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, 1311 Oneida St., Denver.

Patricia 'Pats' Johnson
March 19, 1921 - Nov. 22, 1999
Patricia "Pats" Johnson of Lafayette died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in Longmont. She was 78.
She was born March 19, 1921, in Staten Island, N.Y., to Joseph Maloy and Helen McWilliams Maloy. She married Walter T. Johnson in 1941 in Staten Island. He died in 1983.
Mrs. Johnson was a teacher at St. Aloysius School in Calwell, N.J., for several years. She was a homemaker for most of her life.
She did volunteer work for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Senior Center in Lafayette. She moved to Lafayette from Bricktown, N.J., in 1995.
Survivors include three sons, Zachary Johnson of Manassas, Va., Gregory Johnson of Missoula, Mont., and Stephen Johnson of Seven Lakes, N.C.; a sister, Elizabeth Stiles of Lafayette; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Maloy.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated tonight at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 110 W. Simpson St., Lafayette. Call the church at (303) 665-5103 for the time and other information. Cremation will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to St. Vincent De Paul Society, 1300 S. Steele St., Denver, CO 80210.

Robert D. Aggson
Aug. 6, 1936 - Sept. 23, 1999
Robert D. Aggson of Berthoud, formerly of Boulder and Longmont, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. He was 63.
He was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Brush to Roger Aggson and Amelia Eckhardt Aggson. He married Shirley Dorn on March 21, 1959, in Fort Morgan.
Mr. Aggson was a retired engineer. He was the former owner of and president of Tagco of Boulder and a former partner of Lestronics of Boulder. He also had worked for Stored Energy Systems of Longmont and Technetics of Boulder.
He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. He lived in Boulder from 1959 to 1996, when he moved to Longmont.
He was a golfer and former member of Flatirons Country Club in Boulder, and he made model airplanes. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of Berthoud; a son, Michael Aggson of Denver; a daughter, Susan Aggson of Denver; and a brother, John Aggson of Fort Morgan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Aggson, and a sister, Sara Christensen.
A celebration of his life will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 355 Ponca Place, Boulder. The Rev. Walter "Skip" Strickland will officiate. Services will conclude at the church.

Ruth M. Slinkard
Nov. 19, 1900 - Sept. 23, 1999
Ruth M. Slinkard of Wheat Ridge and formerly of Boulder died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Wide Horizon care center in Wheat Ridge. She was 98.
She was born Nov. 19, 1900, in De Kalb, Ill., to Wendell Bean and Ida Oaks Bean. She married Clifford Slinkard on Feb. 18, 1922 in De Kalb. He died in 1964.
Mrs. Slinkard was a sales clerk. After retiring from J.C. Penney Co. in Eugene, Ore., she moved to Boulder in 1966 and lived at Golden West Senior Residence. She was a hostess at the Baseline McDonald's for 21 years, retiring in 1995. She moved to Wheat Ridge in 1997.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boulder.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Terrell of Arvada; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. The family requests no flowers.

Dianne E. Shaw
July 3, 1948 - Sept. 23, 1999
Dianne E. Shaw of Boulder died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, of natural causes at home. She was 51.
She was born July 3, 1948, in Portland, Ore., to Dayton C. Peck and Elsie Peterkort Peck. She married James W. Shaw on Sept. 20, 1969, in Junction City, Ore.
Mrs. Shaw was marketing manager for the Leanin' Tree Greeting Card Co.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Oregon State University. She lived in Boulder off and on between 1970 and 1987 and moved here permanently in 1989.
Mrs. Shaw was an active member and past president of the Boulder chapter of the Children's Hospital Guild.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Matthew, of Redmond, Wash.; and her mother, of Eugene, Ore.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Crist Mortuary Chapel, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder.
Contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation.
Betsy M. Davies
Sept. 12, 1951 - Sept. 25, 1999
Betsy M. Davies of Boulder died Saturday, Sept. 25. She was 48.
She was born Sept. 12, 1951, in Columbia, Mo., to George C. Miller and Elizabeth Nye Miller. She married Scott Davies on April 26, 1986, at Gold Lake.
Mrs. Davies was a teacher at Crest View Elementary School. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She moved to Boulder later that year.
Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Cindy Miller Mustard of Columbia and Helen Miller Kallenbach of Occidental, Calif.; a son, Christopher Davies of Boulder; and a daughter, Sara Davies of Boulder.
A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 1820 15th St., Boulder, with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
