Mercy Salazar

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mercy Salazar, who died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, in Farmington, N.M. She was 71.

The cause of death was unavailable.

A Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today at the church. The Rev. Joseph Gallegos will officiate. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery.

Mrs. Salazar was born April 23, 1928, in Lumberton, N.M. She married Rudy Salazar in 1948 in Aztec, N.M. She was a housekeeper for many private families.

After living in Durango from 1947 until 1988, Mrs. Salazar moved to Aztec in 1988 after retiring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Salazar, and a son, Eddie Salazar.

Survivors include her daughter, Olivia Martinez of Aztec; three sons, Fidel Salazar and Dan Salazar, both of Aztec, and Joe Salazar of Fullerton, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, including Eddie Salazar, who lived with Mrs. Salazar in Aztec; six great-grandchildren; one uncle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Colorado, Western Region, P.O. Box 3154, Grand Junction, CO 81502.

Albert Alexander ‘Bo’ Morris

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hood Mortuary Chapel for Albert Alexander "Bo" Morris, a lifelong Durango-area resident, who died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, from natural causes. He was 82.

Chaplain Myron Darmour will officiate at services. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery.

Mr. Morris was born Jan. 21, 1917, in Ignacio. He married Phyllis Elizabeth in August 1946.

Mr. Morris was an artist and sign painter. He served in the army during World War II. He worked as a house painter and drywall contractor in Durango.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis.

He is survived by his a son, Dan Morris of Arvada; a daughter, Elizabeth Lloyd of Durango; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital – Muscle Clinic, 1056 E. 19th, Denver, CO 80218.

Paula Marie Fleming

Paula Marie Fleming, a former Durango resident, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, in Seattle. She was 44.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

Ms. Fleming was born Nov. 9, 1955, in Renton, Wash., and graduated from Renton High School in 1974 before graduating from the University of Washington. She received her master’s degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a Phi Beta Kappa award.

Ms. Fleming taught at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Penn., and at the University of Southern California. She lived in Durango with her sister for a short time in 1996.

Ms. Fleming is survived by her mother, Elaine Fleming of Friday Harbor, Wash.; father, Jack Fleming Sr. of Seattle; a brother and three sisters, including Barbara Fleming of Durango; two nieces and five nephews, including Danial Grinnan of Durango.

LeLah Fay Pelton

A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Frontier Baptist Church, 2061 County Road 225, for LeLah Fay Pelton, a former Durango resident, who died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at her home. She was 60.

The Rev. Peter Reitz will officiate at services.

Mrs. Pelton was born Sept. 23, 1939, in Fulton, Ky., before graduating from high school and later cosmetology school.

Mrs. Pelton was employed by Wal-Mart as a clerk and was formerly employed as a dental assistant. She was a member of the Frontier Baptist Church in Durango.

She is survived by her mother, Martha Wolfe of Durango; a son, David A. Pelton of Durango; a daughter, Debra K. Pelton Furguson of Bayfield; three grandchildren, Amber Lee, Lindsey and Andrew; and great-grandchild, Joseph.

Molly Archuleta

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Church in Durango for Molly Archuleta, daughter of Joe B. and Juanita Archuleta.

Molly was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Durango and died Oct. 12, 1999, in Riverside, Calif.

Marguerite Lillian Adams Isgar

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hood Mortuary Chapel for Marguerite Lillian Adams Isgar, who died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Durango after a long illness. She was 83.

The Rev. Rick Calhoun will officiate. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery.

Mrs. Isgar was born Aug. 31, 1916, in Durango. She lived in La Plata County all of her life.

Mrs. Isgar graduated from Durango High School in 1933. She worked for Turner Insurance until she married Fred Isgar in 1939.

Mrs. Isgar was a housewife who enjoyed camping, reading and card playing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred in 1971.

Survivors include two cousins, Albert Thompson of Brush, Colo., and Edward C. Thompson of Durango.

Memorial donations may be made to an organization of your choice.

Erwin R. De Luche

A Masonic memorial graveside service for Erwin R. De Luche will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the De Luche section of Greenmount Cemetery. A brief family reception will be held immediately following the service at the Masonic Lodge in Bodo Park.

Mr. De Luche died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in Albuquerque, N.M. He was 83.

Dennis Orel Durocher

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today in the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel in Andalusia, Ala., for Dennis Orel Durocher, a former Durango resident, who died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, in Alabama following a brief illness. He was 57.

Mr. Durocher was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Seattle, Wash., and lived his early life there.

He later resided in Durango for several years. He had lived in Andalusia for the past eight years and worked in the restaurant business for most of his life.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Durocher Jr. of New Orleans; daughter, Lori Durocher of Denver; stepdaughter, Ginger Armenta of Farmington; three grandchildren; mother and stepfather, Gordyce and George Durocher of Seattle; two sisters, Janet Perkins and Cheri Beer of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Frances S. Bramwell

A Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Frances S. Bramwell, a lifelong resident of the Chromo area who died Nov. 17, 1999, in Pagosa Springs. She was 88.

The cause of death was not available.

Father John Bowe will officiate, with burial to follow at Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday at Hood Mortuary from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

Mrs. Bramwell was born Sept. 3, 1911, in Chromo. She married Edwin J. Bramwell in 1941 at Lumberton, N.M. The couple ranched in Chromo for many years.

She was active in 4-H and was the Overall Archuleta County Leader for several years. She was a member of the Colorado Cowbelles and served as president of the local chapter. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

She enjoyed helping those in need and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992.

She is survived by a daughter, Agnes Dale of Durango; two sons, Jim Bramwell of Durango and Richard Bramwell of Chromo; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
