Carolyn R. Peck, Boulder, CO
1929 - 2008
Carolyn R. Peck has gone to be with her lord and savior. Passing away October 19th after a brave fight against cancer, Cary left this world enveloped in the love of family and many dear friends. Thanks to the compassionate care of the staff at Hospice Care of Boulder, she was comfortable and peaceful to the end.
After growing up in Illinois, Cary attended the University of Colorado and promptly declared Colorado home. Although she was President of the YWCA and Captain of the CU women’s basketball team, she gave up her degree to marry and raise six children.
Cary was very active in Boulder’s Christian community. She had a deep personal faith and shared her devotion to God and his Spirit with many who now remember her with gratitude. Her steadfast faith carried her during difficult times and was an example for all who knew her.
Cary had a passion for books. She earned her living as a master bookbinder and was an active member of the Antiquarian Book Society and long standing member of the Guild of Book workers. She also had many other creative interests and abilities, but above all she loved to learn and even more she loved sharing what she learned with others.
She had a talent for making lifelong friends in every phase of her life, and is remembered for her warm smile and the way she touched other people deeply without being aware of doing so.
Wealthy in friends and beloved activities; a gentle and warm spirit; she will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life service, honoring her, will be held at Cornerstone Church, Sunday November 2nd at 3:00. All friends past and present are encouraged to come.
