ANITA SPAGNA GAFFNEY
Anita, 93, died July 9, 2001, at a local hospital. She was retired.
Anita was born Aug. 10, 1907, in Bronx, N.Y., to Joseph and Rofina Spagna, who are deceased.
She is survived by two daughters, Anita Arends and Marilyn Dunn; a brother, Raymond Spagna; a sister, Marie Parente; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. today at Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road.
LLOYD C. FERREL
Mr. Ferrel, 79, died July 6, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He worked in civil service for the Army as a supplier. He served in the Army for 22 years.
Mr. Ferrel was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Vienna, Mo., to Alex and Frances Ida (Matthews) Ferrel, who are deceased. He was married in 1951 to Mamie Nara, who is deceased.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; and seven sisters.
No services are planned. Inurnment will be at Memorial Gardens Columbarium, 3825 Airport Road. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

LEE R. SMITH
Mr. Smith, 76, died July 8, 2001, in Widefield of complications of diabetes. He retired as a music teacher from Watson Junior High School, Widefield School District 3, after 21 years. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Smith was born July 12, 1924, in Kinsley, Kan., to Frank Thomas and Mary (Montgomery) Smith, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 27, 1950, to Jean Earl.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Steven L., E. Douglas, Kurt A. and Monty; a brother; a sister; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Cremation is planned.

FRED L. McKEDY
Mr. McKedy, 73, died July 6, 2001, at a local hospital. He retired as first sergeant from the Army after 27 years.
Mr. McKedy was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Vici, Okla., to Russell McKedy and Dora Dennett, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 30, 1959, to Karin Kruger.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jacqueline Arteaga and Clarissa Petery; three brothers, Charles, Frank and Leon; a sister, Ruby Scrivner; and four grandchildren.
Burial will be at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., staging area A, Denver. Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-8831, is handling arrangements.

FRANCES J. ESPINOSA
Mrs. Espinosa, 65, died July 8, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a presser at Coutures.
Mrs. Espinosa was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Center to Albert and Virginia (Archuleta) Perea. Her father is deceased. She was married Nov. 28, 1949, to Toby Jose Espinosa, who is deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Jim and Tom; four daughters, Kay Chavez, May Lucero, Doris Odle and Edith Espinosa; her mother; two brothers, Arthur Perea and Dick Perea; a sister, Nina Cordova; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Perea; and a sister, Angie Guerrero.
A rosary will be at 6 p.m. today at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Ave. Burial will be private.
RETIRED COL. RICHARD L. DAVIS
Col. Davis, 76, died July 9, 2001, at a local hospital. He served in the Air Force for 27 years.
Col. Davis was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Dr. Augustus and Carrie (Williams) Davis, who are deceased. He was married May 5, 1950, to Mildred Ott.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Pamela Davis, Suzanne Moore and Patricia Reid; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Leslie and Ross.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., staging area B, Denver.

LAURA GLOVER
Laura, 94, died July 6, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a retired legal secretary.
Laura was born Aug. 23, 1906, in Ord, Neb., to Frank E. and Rose (Fuhrer) Glover, who are deceased.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Robert E.; and three sisters, Ruth Braudaway, Helen Brown and Alma Glover.
No services are planned. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.
JUANITA McCAUGHAN HARRIS
Mrs. Harris, 77, died July 6, 2001, in Colorado Springs of cancer. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Harris was born May 10, 1924, in Wolf Lake, Ill., to Oliver and Minnie (Hatley) Smith, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 28, 1977, to Hugh Harris.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Ronald McCaughan; a stepson, Thomas H. Harris; two daughters, Janice Curran and Kathern Eschner; a stepdaughter, D’Estay Thomas; two sisters, Helen McMilland and Buelah Rothchild; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

JANE (AUGUSTINE) McINTYRE
Jane, 78, died July 8, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was an accountant.
Jane was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Grant and Idabell (Gates) Augustine, who are deceased.
She is survived by four sons, Howard James Johnson, Peter A. McIntyre, Robert W. McIntyre and Harry E. McIntyre; two daughters, Margaret Schroyer and Barbra J. Billings; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Grant Augustine and Robert Augustine, and a sister, Margaret Stewart.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Private inurnment is planned.

VERNON L. QUINTANA
Mr. Quintana, 61, died July 5, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was an owner of Mountain Valley Concrete Inc.
Mr. Quintana was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Saguache to Salamae and Isabel (Pacheco) Quintana. His father is deceased. He was married May 24, 1972, to Anne Moore.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Al, Dennis, Shannon and Michael; five daughters, Heather Quintana, Debbie Montoya, Susie Aldridge, Terri O’Neil and Cathy Spaid; his mother; three brothers, Robert, Richard and Thomas; two sisters, Marie Salaz and Agnes Martinez; and 17 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services. MARY LOUISE HIPPS
Mrs. Hipps, 86, died July 6, 2001, at home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hipps was born July 8, 1914, in Canton, Ill., to Anthony and Mae (Sherrer) Renz, who are deceased. She was married June 14, 1936, to Lloyd Hipps.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Dee Ann Anderson; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

DOROTHY ANN HUNTER
Mrs. Hunter, 82, died July 7, 2001, at a local hospital. She previously worked for Hibbard’s Department Store and Meek’s Luggage.
Mrs. Hunter was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Lynn, Mass., to James T. and Myrtle E. (Peck) Faulkner, who are deceased. She was married June 10, 1944, to James Robert Hunter.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, James E., Thomas M. and John J.; three daughters, Lynn E. Greene, Jane Hunter Ross and Susan M. Hunter; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert A., and a brother, Thomas Faulkner.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum "Garden of Angels, " 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.

ADELE G. DEAN
Mrs. Dean, 78, died July 6, 2001, at a local hospice. She served in the army during World War II. She was a registered nurse at a local hospital.
Mrs. Dean was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Niagra Falls, N.Y., to Harry R. Foerster and Hazel Belle Heath, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 24, 1946, to John W. Dean, who is deceased.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol Peterson, Evelyn Nystrom and Mary Brunette; a brother, Duane; a sister, Marie Best; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber, 632-7608. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W.
