SAELI AMADEO MAPU
Mr. Mapu, 28, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Dec. 2, 2001, in Denver of cancer. He served in the Army for 9 1/2 years as sergeant.
Mr. Mapu was born Nov. 3, 1973, in Orange County, Calif., to Ioane and Aveia Mapu. He was married Feb. 12, 1998, to Latisha Christina Robertson.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Moana; a stepson, Tres; his parents; two brothers, Abraham and Steven; and three sisters, Joyce Ulimasao, Easter Mapu and Fea Mapu.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home “Chapel of Peace, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

WALTER HAROLD OLSON
Mr. Olson, 66, died Nov. 30, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a business manager for Perkins Motor City Dodge. He served in the Army.
Mr. Olson was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Saint Croix, Wis., to Harold and Helen Olson, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 17, 1966, to Deanna M. Anderson, who is deceased.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff and Dan; a daughter, Cathi Martin; three sisters, Winnifred Urban, Mary Dux and Ruth Anne Junker; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Richard.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Life Church, TAG Chapel, 11205 Highway 83. A committal service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.
RUSSELL LaVERNE SNAVLEY
Mr. Snavley, 73, a Colorado Springs resident, died Dec. 3, 2001, in Craig. He retired from McGraw Hill. He served in the Army, 82nd Airborne, from 1945 to 1947.
Mr. Snavley was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Big Rapids, Mich., to Russell George and Minnie Carter Snavley. His mother is deceased. He was married to Leone Marvin.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, David L., Robert, Daniel and Timothy; a daughter, Bonnie Roberts; his father; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eldora.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Valley View Church of God, 4390B S. Lowell Blvd., Englewood. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Valley View Church of God. RAY P. STEWART
Mr. Stewart, 81, died Nov. 30, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He served in the Air Force from 1939 to 1965, attaining the rank of colonel. He worked in civil service.
Mr. Stewart was born March 14, 1920, in Kit Carson County to Lorenzo Stewart and Bertha Garrett, who are deceased. He was married March 13, 1941, to Frieda Smith, who is deceased.
He is survived by two sons, Lance and Doug; two daughters, Teresa Figueredo and Elizabeth Seeger; a sister, Beverly Cota; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; and a grandchild.

GLENN A. MATHERS
Mr. Mathers, 88, died Dec. 3, 2001, at a local care center. He was a bell captain at The Broadmoor hotel. He served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.
Mr. Mathers was born June 3, 1913, in Enid, Okla., to John Blasdel and Lela Manchester, who are deceased. He was married to Mary Louise Gordon, who is deceased.
He is survived by a son, Gordon; three daughters, Glenda Stroupe, Gloria Jimenez and Gayle Vogan; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Archie Mathers; and two sisters, Emma McDaniel and Grace Blasdel.

FORREST W. ECKS SR.
Mr. Ecks, 83, died Dec. 3, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a retired master pattern maker. He served as staff sergeant in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Ecks was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Reading, Pa., to Claus and Frieda (Betz) Ecks, who are deceased. He was married to Helena Heopstine, who is deceased. He then married Madeline Goodhart, who is deceased.
He is survived by a son, Forrest “Chip”; a daughter, Victoria Biolsi; two brothers, George and Richard; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

MALVIE L. GARRISON
Mrs. Garrison, 86, died Dec. 2, 2001, at a local care center. She retired as a food service worker from The Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind.
Mrs. Garrison was born Feb. 11, 1915, in Albany, Ky., to Benton and Edna (Maupin) Ferrill, who are deceased. She was married January 1945 to Clyde L. Garrison Sr., who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Clyde L. Jr.; two sisters, Mildred Smith and Pauline Flowers; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Ferrill, and a sister, Wilma Branham.

MATTHEW J. ROBERT
Mr. Robert, 75, died Dec. 1, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a retired aerospace systems analyst, having worked at Ford Aerospace. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a major.
Mr. Robert was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Burnside, La., to Octave and Ruth (Brewerton) Robert, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 16, 1952, to Dorothea La Torre.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Mark, Douglas and Charles; two daughters, Dru Robert and Juliette Shea; three brothers, Robert, John and Peter; four sisters, Betty Robert, Carolyn McCauley, Genie Landry and Marie Hebert; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul.

Mrs. Gustafson, 82, died Dec. 1, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Gustafson was born April 5, 1919, in Painsdale, Mich., to Isaac Niva and Eva Hiltunen, who are deceased. She was married to John R. Gustafson, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Monte; and two daughters, Hedy Mathisen and Jane Gustafson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eino “Iggy” Niva.

Mrs. Anzaldúa was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Brownsville, Texas, to Antonio Sustaita and Teresa (Morales) del Castillo, who are deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Jose Antonio “Tony” and Porfirio Ricardo “Ricky”; three daughters, Teresa Yvonne “Tesi” Putnam, Mary Lourdes “LuLu” Roberts and Graciela Veronica Richer; a sister, Concepcion “Connie” Sainz; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild.
