DR. PHOEBE ANN "MIKKI" BLOOR

Dr. Bloor, 70, died April 27, 2001, at home in Colorado Springs of cancer. She retired as a teacher from School District 11.

Dr. Bloor was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Huntington, W.Va., to Wallace G. and Violet (Nottingham) Hayner, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 18, 1952, to Retired Chaplain Lt. Col. the Rev. Donald E. Bloor.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Theresa (Reyna) Bloor, Kimberlee J. McCauley and Donna A. Myers; three sisters, Phyllis Dean, Jerry Sydney Havens and Sandra Stackhouse; and five grandchildren.

Celebration of Life services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Ave. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tri Lakes United Methodist Church, in care of Phoebe Ann Bloor Memorial Fund, 183 N. Washington St., Monument 80132.

RETIRED MAJ. ROBERT E. LEAVITT

Mr. Leavitt, 69, died April 28, 2001, at home in Colorado Springs. He was director of health and safety at Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross in Fort Carson and owned a grocery store in Peyton for five years. He also retired from the Air Force after 27 years of service, attaining the rank of major.

Mr. Leavitt was born May 29, 1931, in Creston, Iowa, to Lloyd and Laura (Cunningham) Leavitt, who are deceased. He was married July 23, 1994, to Joyce Franchs.

He is survived by his wife; a stepson, Russell Franchs of Colorado Springs; two stepdaughters, Leslie Franchs of Yorktown, Va., and Tracy Taravade of Colorado Springs; a son-in-law, Kunal Taravade of Colorado Springs; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Franchs of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, 1600 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs 80907.

ROSITA G. "ROSE" TERHUNE

Mrs. Terhune, 65, died April 22, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She retired from civil service with the Air Force.

Mrs. Terhune was born July 13, 1935, in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, to Marcelo and Filomena Balauro (Miguel) Galapin, who are deceased. She was married Sept. 5, 1959, to Robert L. Terhune.

She is survived by her husband; five sons, Sonny Lim, Donald M. Terhune, Robert T. Terhune, Bryan L. Terhune and Kenneth A. Terhune; two daughters, Sharon A. Hoy and Michelle L. Terhune; a brother, Norman R. Galapin; a sister, Barbara Wusstig; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, N.L. "Mike' Miguel.

A memorial service will be at a later date. Inurnment is planned. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

JEANNETTE C. WHITEIS

Mrs. Whiteis, 86, died April 23, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was an elementary school teacher.

Mrs. Whiteis was born June 11, 1914, in Waylin, Minn., to Albert Duncan and An'a Marie (Jorpland) Culbertson, who are deceased. She was married May 31, 1942, to Oliver George Whiteis, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Monty; a daughter, Bonnie Wubbena; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Culbertson; and a sister, Mildred Johnson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, 1515 N. Cascade Ave. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1515 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs 80907 or Alzheimer's Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter, 2930 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs 80918.

BERYL RUBY BAKER

Mrs. Baker, 84, died April 21, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She worked for the phone company in the '40s and then was a housewife.

Mrs. Baker was born July 5, 1916, in Hanover. She was married March 9, 1948, to John H. Baker, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, David; two daughters, Vivian Baker and Rita Campbell; a brother, Arnold Lehnus; three sisters, Grace Nolan, Mildred Finch and Alice Smith; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Lehnus; and a sister, Irene Finch.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Chapel. After the service, graveside services will be at Chico Basin Cemetery, Hanover. After the graveside service, a potluck reception will be at Hanover Church. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

DOROTHY JEAN KLEINKORT

Mrs. Kleinkort, 74, died April 24, 2001, at a local care center. She retired in 1995 from Colorado Interstate Gas. She was a YFU exchange student representative and a volunteer at Grant, Carver and ECA Elementary Schools. She was also a member of Village Seven Presbyterian Church for 25 years.

Mrs. Kleinkort was born June 27, 1926, in New York City to James Joseph and Edna Regina (Kramer) Rosasco, who are deceased. She was married July 1, 1961, to Carl William Kleinkort.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Carl Anton; a daughter, Jamie Martin-Knox; five foster children, Donna, Tina, Penny, Barbara and Patrick; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean; a brother, James J. Rosasco; a sister, Margaret Rosasco; and three grandchildren, Alexandra Paige Kleinkort, Cameron Anton Kleinkort and Benjamin Wolfgang Knox.

A memorial service will be at noon Friday at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4050 Nonchalant Circle S. Burial will be private. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

JUNE ETHLYN LLOYD

Mrs. Lloyd, 60, died April 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a registered nurse with Memorial Hospital and St. Francis of Assisi.

Mrs. Lloyd was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Atlanta to Robert and Ethlyn Ashworth, who are deceased. She was married March 31, 1976, to James J. "Jim" Lloyd.

She is survived by her husband; and a son, John. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Ashworth.

Private services are planned. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

RICHARD "RIKKI" CALANCHIE VOGT

Mr. Vogt, 24, died April 22, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a student.

Mr. Vogt was born July 18, 1976, in Denver.

He is survived by many friends at Martin Luther Homes.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. Burial will be private.

LAURA "LYNN" VIAR-SIMPSON

Laura, 40, died April 23, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a registered nurse.

Laura was born March 29, 1961, in St. Louis to Ray and Sylvia (Bender) Lynn.

She is survived by three sons, Andrew Viar, Patrick Viar and Tyler Simpson; her parents; two brothers, Steven Lynn and Scott Lynn; three sisters, Lisa Archuleta, Lesley Lynn Green and Louise Lynn; her paternal grandmother, Katherine Lynn; and her maternal grandmother, Edna Bender.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mountain View Mortuary.

LULA MORGAN

Mrs. Morgan, 102, died April 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Morgan was born Oct. 3, 1898, in Barnhill, Ill., to Andrew and Elizabeth (Griffin) Hendrickson, who are deceased. She was married in 1916 to Estill Morgan, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Paul; a daughter, Elsie Mae Twarogowski; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by twin brothers and two sisters.

ALLAN DAVID NICOLSON

Mr. Nicolson, 39, died April 18, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a builder.

Mr. Nicolson was born Jan. 12, 1962, in Oakland, Calif., to Allan and Myrna Carolyn (LaRue) Nicolson. His father is deceased.

He is survived by a daughter, Alicia; his mother; a brother, Brian; and a sister, Patti Jones.

EDNA MAE (LAKE) De JOHN

Mrs. De John, 70, died April 23, 2001, at a local care center after a long illness. She was a wife, mother and homemaker.

Mrs. De John was born May 26, 1930, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Joseph and Mary Agnes (Derocher) Lake, who are deceased. She was married Sept. 5, 1948, to Frank A. De John.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Frank of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Joseph of Falcon; three daughters, Gloria Bear of Greenville, N.Y., Barbara De John of Black Forest and Michelle Guyot of Colorado Springs; a brother, Joseph Lake of Leo-minster, Mass.; two sisters, Beatrice Nelson of Connecticut and Virginia Oropallo of Schenectady, N.Y.; and five grandchildren, Holli De John, Antoinette Bader, Sara Thompson, Nicolas Bader and David Bader.

A memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.
