SHIRLEY IRENE PAULI
Mrs. Pauli, 65, died April 28, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She ran concessions for 27 years with the Shrine Circus. She owned Beans & Leaves in Denver and Fort Collins for several years and Yummy Yums in Fowler for several years.
Mrs. Pauli was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Ordway to Ervin Lee and Irene Catherine (Haddock) Hendrix, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 10, 1951, to Lloyd Morris Pauli.
She is survived by her husband; her niece and caretaker, Janet Province; a brother, Jimmie Lee Hendrix; and two sisters, Mary Evelyn Barnett and Linda Alta Hughes. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Anderson.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday with a reception to follow at Garden of the Gods, Overlook area. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.
VERNON REMINGTON
Mr. Remington, 79, died April 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a geological surveyor and a retired school teacher.
Mr. Remington was born March 20, 1922, in Colorado Springs, to Ella and Ivor Remington, who are deceased. He was married to Jane Miller.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, David and Dan; a sister, Margery Alsbury; and six grandchildren.

MATHILDA ANN "TERRY" BROWN
Mrs. Brown, 76, died April 24, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother and volunteered at various organizations.
Mrs. Brown was born May 12, 1924, in Nuremberg, Germany, to Frank and Mathilda (Pfaffelmoser) Roith. Her father is deceased. She was married Aug. 19, 1944, to Col. James F. Brown.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, James Ronald and Thomas Patrick; four daughters, Debra Marie Mendiola, Peggy Ann Lindemuth, Christine Louise Brown and Patrice Lynn Clark; her mother; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle. Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.
MARGARET S. GRAY
Mrs. Gray, 85, died April 30, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a civil service secretary with an Air Force base in San Antonio.
Mrs. Gray was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Stockdale, Texas, to John and Rosalie (Pryor) Smith, who are deceased. She was married in 1936 to Guy David Gray, who is deceased.
She is survived by two sons, John David and William M. "Bill"; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wyatt Smith and Sonny Smith; and two sisters, Mattie Carpenter and Ella Lee Smith.
Services will be in San Antonio. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling local arrangements.

HAZEL P. HARRIS
Mrs. Harris died April 30, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Harris was born in Bowling Green, Ky., to John and Ruth (Campbell) Morgan, who are deceased. She was married in 1939 to Thomas H. Harris, who is deceased.
She is survived by a sister, Lucille Williams of Colorado Springs; and a niece, Staci Matthis of California.

Shirley, 66, died April 27, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Shirley was born Oct. 18, 1934, in Denver, to Lee James and Laura Lillian (Russell) Orr. Her father is deceased.
She is survived by her mother.

AL THRELFALL
Mr. Threlfall, 65, died April 29, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He retired as an electronic engineer from Hewlett-Packard. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Threlfall was born July 2, 1935, in Amory, Miss., to Henry G. and Meryle R. (Chandler) Threlfall, who are deceased. He was married Nov. 25, 1977, to Linda Addison.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Larry and Mark; two daughters, Cindy and Paula; two sisters, Sylvia Crossley and Kathi Lewis; and three grandchildren.

FORREST F. ROSE
Mr. Rose, 83, died April 26, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a realtor and broker at Rose Realty. He served in the Army Air Corps.
Mr. Rose was born April 11, 1918, in Agra, Kan., to Frank Joseph and Lola (Carroll) Rose, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 12, 1942, to Trudy Kelley.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Larry L. of Littleton and Mark A. of Monument; two daughters, Donna M. Rose and Rita A. Zartman, both of Colorado Springs; a brother, Eugene, of Sun City, Ariz.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David; a brother, Gerald; and a sister, Dorothy Weis.

LILLIAN ROSE SHELTON
Mrs. Shelton, 78, died April 30, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker. She was a former telephone operator with Mountain Bell and was also employed with School District 11 in food service.
Mrs. Shelton was born May 23, 1922, in Colorado Springs, to Raymond K. and Laura (Lolcama) Holloway, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 24, 1943, to Lloyd R. Shelton.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Richard D.; a daughter, Diana L. Lantz; two sisters, Dorothy J. Ladd and Maxine "Mickey" Hamilton; two grandsons, Jeremy D. Shelton and Travis S. Lantz; and a granddaughter, Noelle M. Lantz. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Holloway.

JOHN C. SMITH
Mr. Smith, 72, died April 27, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a mill worker and truck driver for Climax Mine in Climax for 33 years and served in the Army from Jan. 27, 1946, until June 29, 1947, in Company D 17th Infantry in Korea.
He was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Agular, to Charles Benedict and Maudie Lois (Morrow) Smith, who are deceased. He was married May 6, 1948, to Mable Francisco, who is deceased.
Mr. Smith is survived by his significant other, Eileen Ray; three sons, Bill, John and Jim; three daughters-in-law, Jane Smith, Mary Smith and Carol Smith; two stepsons, Michael Ray and Jeff Ray; three stepdaughters, Jacque Newsom-Ditmars, Terri Peterson and Pattie Ray; two stepsons-in-law, Dexter Newsom-Ditmars and Rick Peterson; one stepdaughter-in-law, Patsy Ray; his mother-in-law, Jessie Francisco; a brother, C.B.; two sisters, Evelyn Bisaleo and Julie DeBella; 5 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jimmie and Eunice.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Masonic Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Leadville. Inurnment will be in Bigelow, Kan.
MARY ELLEN "MARIE" PROFFITT
Mrs. Proffitt, 98, died April 28, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a retired bookkeeper.
Mrs. Proffitt was born July 22, 1902, in West Hartle Pool Durham, England, to John Henry and Rachel Jane (Foster) Walton, who are deceased. Her family migrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1906.
She married Stephen Wood of Marion, Ill., on Sept. 4, 1929, who died Dec. 15, 1942, at a local care center. She then married John Thomas Proffitt on April 16, 1949, who died March 10, 1971.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel. Private entombment is planned.
MILDRED MILLER
Mrs. Miller, 64, died April 25, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Miller was born Jan. 28, 1937, in Port Gibson, Miss., to Joe and Lillie Mae (Green) Gusta, who are deceased. She was married March 4, 1960, to Eddie Miller, who is deceased.
Mrs. Miller is survived by four sons, Gene Gusta, James Miller, Zera Miller and Jonny Miller; a daughter, Vanelia Mercer; a sister, Bertha James; and 16 grandchildren.

Mrs. Perry, 92, died April 28, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a housekeeper at Colorado College for 20 years.
Mrs. Perry was born May 14, 1908, in Kellerville, Ill., to William and Anna (Smith) Shank, who are deceased. She was married in 1938 to Eldon Perry, who is deceased.
Mrs. Perry is survived by a son, Larry, of Colorado Springs; three granddaughters, Kristy Beisel, Kolleen Perry and Kelli Perry; and three great-grandchildren.
