LAVERNE "VERN" R. STEWART
Mr. Stewart, 51, died May 3, 2001, at a local hospital. He worked in maintenance and construction for the city of Colorado Springs Utilities.
Mr. Stewart was born May 27, 1949, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, to Eddie Hardison and Letha Rosella Stewart, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 1, 1990, to Sharolyn "Sherry" A. Singer.
He is survived by his wife of Peyton; three daughters, Sara Marquez, Laura Merric and Fallon Stewart; two stepsons, David Newman and Paul Newman; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. After the service, a reception will be at Taft Hall, Grace Presbyterian Church, 631 N. Tejon St. Burial will be private.

CHARLES F. "CHUCK" LOUKS
Mr. Louks, 81, died May 6, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a retired self-employed salesman. He served in the Army during World War II and in the Philippines.
Mr. Louks was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Sawyer, Minn., to Charles and Beatrice Louks, who are deceased.
He is survived by his companion, Hilde R. Bergfalk; a son, Gary D.; two daughters, Betty Lou MacDonell and M. Susan Ahern; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three wives, Lenae, Marjorie and Saara; a son, Steven Charles; and three brothers, Ben, Bill and Earl.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday with a time of fellowship to follow at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 2520 Arlington Drive. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.

JOSEPHINE "JO" PECORINO
Jo, 88, died May 6, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a treasurer with Import Comp. in New York and a 19-year computer volunteer with Silver Key Senior Services in Colorado Springs.
Jo was born May 8, 1912, in Queens, N.Y., to James and Maria (Santangelo) Pecorino, who are deceased.
She is survived by a brother, Edward, and two sisters, Vivian Pecorino and Ann Gerfen.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cappadona's Family Center, 3133 N. El Paso St., 520-1817.

JESSE "JESS" STANTON
Mr. Stanton, 92, died May 5, 2001, at a local care center. He was a miner.
Mr. Stanton was born Aug. 11, 1908, in Colorado Springs, to Jess Stanton and Inez Hughes, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 24, 1930, to Gladys May Warling, who is deceased.
He is survived by two sons, Wylie (Diane) and William; a daughter, Shirley Ann Critz (Jim); and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A private inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Rose Gardens.
VIRGINIA ANDERSON
Mrs. Anderson, 81, died May 7, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker and taught elementary school in Pueblo for 12 years.
Mrs. Anderson was born May 6, 1920, in Hebron, Neb., to George and Mildred Clark, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 15, 1943, to Bill Anderson, who is deceased.
She is survived by two daughters, Dee Dee Wint of Flower Mound, Texas and Katie Anderson of Pueblo; a son-in-law, Tim Wint; a sister, Lydia Reynolds; a special friend, Russ Anderson; and two grandchildren, Erika Wint and Audra Wint. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul, and a brother, George.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Lehmberg Chapel, 420 N. Nevada Ave. After the service, a reception will be at the hospitality room at First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Westcliffe. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.

MELISSA ANE "MISSY" DRIML
Missy, 19, died May 3, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She graduated from Air Force Academy High School in 2000.
Missy was born Dec. 22, 1981, in El Toro, Calif.
She is survived by her father and his wife, Dennis L. and Kimberly Sue Driml; her mother, Lisa Marie Waller; three brothers, Cody Antone Driml, Ricky William Travis and Bruce Kaleb Driml; two sisters, Heather Marie Driml and Brittany Christine Travis; her paternal grandparents, Doris Marie and Dave Dent; her maternal grandparents, Bob Waller and Becky Miller; her grandparents, Bill and Judy Walker; and her paternal grandfather, Frank Driml.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel. Burial will be at El Toro Cemetery, El Toro.

CARY CLOVICKO
Mr. Clovicko, 49, a former Colorado Springs resident, died May 1, 2001, in Manhattan Beach, Calif. He served as an aerospace engineer in the Air Force.
Mr. Clovicko was born June 4, 1951, in Pittsburgh.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathryn "Kaycee" and Teresa; his father, Philip Clovicko; a sister, Christina Caskey; and his ex-wife, Christine Warfield. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara (Cenkner) Clovicko.

HAE KYUNG MIYAGAWA
Mrs. Miyagawa, 34, died May 5, 2001, in Black Forest, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a financial analyst for International Game Technology in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Miyagawa was born Aug. 22, 1966, in Seoul, South Korea, to Joo Yong Lee and June (Sook) Lee. She was married April 23, 1994, to K-K Miyagawa.
She is survived by her husband; her parents; a brother, Hae Kyoon Lee; and a sister, Hae Min Lee.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today with services at 7:30 p.m. at Monument Community Presbyterian Church, 238 Third, Monument. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling cremation.
GERTRUDE AULT POND
Gertrude, 71, died May 6, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Gertrude was born Aug. 6, 1929, in New Castle, Pa., to Arthur Eugene and Pansy Sofie (Pearson) Ault, who are deceased.
She is survived by six sons, Steve, Dale, Kit, Ty, Pierre and Roby; two daughters, Holly Pond and Kali Hogan; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

FLORENCE MARY JOHNSON
Mrs. Johnson, 83, died May 3, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a member of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Bremen, N.D., to Stephen and Elizabeth (Adam) Helenske, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 25, 1953, to Harold Lloyd Johnson.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Gordon Raile; two brothers, Richard and James; two sisters, Irene and Betty; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Terry, Cele, Margaret and Marion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Masonic Center, 1150 Panorama Drive. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. The Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-8831, is handling arrangements.
RETIRED LT. COL. ROBERT T. BEAL
Mr. Beal, 79, died May 5, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a retired home builder in Colorado Springs. He also retired from the army after 28 years of service, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel and receiving many medals and honors.
Mr. Beal was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Thomas Beal and Florence (Starback) Petersen, who are deceased. He was married Sept. 26, 1944, to Jessie Griffin.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Jeffrey "Tom"; a daughter, Shana "Cindy" Schaffer; a brother, Don; a grandson, Joshua Shoop; two granddaughters, Shay Schaffer andHeather McMahon; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla McMahon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. CANDELARIA (MORENO) LOPEZ
Mrs. Lopez, 86, died May 4, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Lopez was born Feb. 2, 1915, in St. Paul, Texas, to Tirzo and Canuta (Figueroa) Moreno, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 28, 1933, to Eliseo Lopez, who is deceased.
She is survived by three sons, Santana of Skidmore, Texas; Ruben of Bridgeport, Conn.; and Eliseo of Houston; seven daughters, Estella Lopez of Midland, Texas; Elva Okker of Colorado Springs; Elida Hodges of Rogers, Ark., Bertha Lopez of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Rosalinda Kuhn of Lubbock, Texas; Graciela Lopez of San Antonio; and Elvira Lopez of Austin, Texas; a brother, Ignacio Moreno; three sisters, Petra Moreno, Maria Ramos and Amalia Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews; 27 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

JOAN MOGENSEN
Mrs. Mogensen, 76, died May 5, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a free-lance artist.
Mrs. Mogensen was born July 19, 1924, in Detroit, to Fredrick and Blanche (Judd) Belmore, who are deceased. She was married in 1983 to Donald Mogensen, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Paul L. Callaway; two daughters, Linda I. Callaway and Gail A. Coulter; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
