EDNA F. GIBSON
Mrs. Gibson, 80, died May 23, 2001, at a local care center after a long illness. She retired from sales at Sears.
Mrs. Gibson was born July 20, 1920, in Pottsville, Penn. She was married to Clifford DeWald, who is deceased. She was then married to Lincoln A. Gibson, who is deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel A. DeWald and Robert A. Gibson; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; and sisters.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Mrs. Gibson's wishes were to be cremated.

VIVIAN B. WALLACE
Vivian, 56, died May 24, 2001, at a local hospital. She was employed by Current and also volunteered at Penrose Hospital and Memorial Hospital.
Vivian was born July 4, 1944, in Washington to Morris Crabbe and Bernice Gates, who are deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Steve and Marten D.; a daughter, Karen; a stepmother, Dorothy Crabbe; and a grandchild.
Memorial mass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. Spartan Services, 955 S. Union Blvd., 634-0402, is handling arrangements.
RETIRED COL. RICHARD H. HACKFORD
Col. Hackford, 87, died May 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He served as a pilot in the Air Force for 30 years.
Col. Hackford was born March 20, 1914, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Richard J. and Ada C. (Lischer) Hackford, who are deceased. He was married July 9, 1940, to Mozelle Mize.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Richard H.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith M. MacDonald, and two brothers, Robert R. and Leslie.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel. A private burial will be in West Point, N.Y.

LOIS A. SMOLDT
Mrs. Smoldt, 79, died May 25, 2001, at a local care center. She was a retired registered laboratory technician and a homemaker.
She was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Osborne, Kan., to Roy and Edith (Bliss) Harvey, who are deceased. She was married March 27, 1947, to Richard M. Smoldt, who is deceased.
She is survived by three sons, Al, Bill and Steve; a daughter, Janet Bailey; nine grandchildren, Jim Buster, Leslie Smoldt, Ryan Smoldt, Andrea Smoldt, Michele Smoldt, Tim Smoldt, Jessica Smoldt, Ashley Smoldt and Susan Martin; and a great-grandson, Brenden.
Visitations will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene, Newton, Kan. Burial will be at Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.

TERESA C. COLTEN
Ms. Colten, 65, died May 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a retired librarian from Central Library in Los Angeles.
Ms. Colten was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Chico, Calif., to Wesley and Zellabelle (Mason) Roberts, who are deceased.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Clarizio of California and Gwen Cleary of Craig; a sister Bertra M. Kusik and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Armin Schoen. Cremation is planned. The Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.

RETIRED COL. RICHARD H. HACKFORD

Mrs. Kennedy, 80, died May 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Kennedy was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Bessie, Okla., to Isaac and Nina (Wallerstedt) Loewen, who are deceased. She was married April 4, 1941, to Louis J. Kennedy, M.D.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, L. James Jr., Richard M. and Thomas L.; a daughter, Sheri K. Rotole; two brothers, Donald Loewen and Jack Loewen; and nine grandchildren.

EDITH B. RUSSELL
Mrs. Russell, 89, died May 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She loved gardening and handwork.
Mrs. Russell was born Nov. 23, 1911, in McNair, Miss., to J.C. and Ethel (Allen) Robertson, who are deceased. She was married in June 1932 to Matthew C. Russell, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Ira L.; a daughter, Edith R. DeMio; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew C. Jr.; two brothers, Ned Robertson and Ted Robertson; and two sisters, June Meadows and Dixie Brown.

ETHEL MARIE McKEEL
Mrs. McKeel, 53, a Colorado Springs resident, died May 23, 2001, in a Denver hospital of an unsuccessful heart transplant. She was a pianist.
Mrs. McKeel was born Feb. 5, 1948, in Alice, Texas. She was married May 17, 1969, to Russell K. McKeel.
Mrs. McKeel is survived by her husband; a son, Ryan William; a daughter, Laurel Renae; her father, Eugene William Becker; her mother, Mary Louise Becker; and a sister, Gerrye Jeanette Williams.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday with a reception to follow at First Congregation Church, 20 E. St. Vrain St. Colorado Springs Mortuary and Cremation Service, 3475 Astrozon Ct., 392-4144, is handling arrangements.

SR. M. ELAINE BINTNER, O.S.F.
Sister M. Elaine, 90, died May 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a teacher.
Sr. M. Elaine was born Dec. 10, 1910, in Exira, Iowa, to Shomp and Anna (Lorentz) Bintner, who are deceased.
She is survived by a brother, Peter, of Olympia, Wash.; and two sisters, Helen Trott of Peoria, Ill. and Sr. Lourita Bintner of Colorado Springs.
A wake service will be at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at Mount St. Francis Sisters' Chapel, 7665 Assisi Heights. WILLIAM JOSEPH MICHAEL HOVENIC/AKA MIKE HAHN
Mike, 78, a former Avondale and Fountain resident, died April 29, 2001, in Pueblo. He was a heavy-equipment operator during his youth and later worked as an interstate truck driver. Late in life, he operated a wheelchair repair service. He was founder of the Universal Service of Essenian Ontology.
Mike was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Newton, Kan.
He is survived by two sons, William E. Hovenic of Colorado Springs and Michael D. Hovenic of Arvada; three other children, Ted Wilcox, Terry Wilcox and Tracey Becker, all of Colorado Springs; two grandchildren, Alan Hovenic and Jody Spendlow, both of Erie; and three great-grandchildren.
At the deceased's request, no services will be held. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.
DOROTHY N. MYERS
Dorothy, 79, died May 21, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a local artist, decorator and homemaker.
Dorothy was born March 15, 1922, in York, Pa., to Amos M. and Katharine (Lease) Graff, who are deceased.
She is survived by a son, Alan B.; a daughter, Susan Landrith; two grandsons, Phillip and Jeffrey; and two great-grandchildren.

DENICE KATHERINE (WINTHER) COMES
Mrs. Comes, 41, a former Colorado Springs resident, died May 21, 2001, in Villisca, Iowa. She was a secretary at Hawkeye Excavating Co.
Mrs. Comes was born June 7, 1959, in Corning, Iowa, to Raymond and Norma Winther. Her mother is deceased. She was married Nov. 24, 1983, to Mick Comes.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Lindsey Comes, of Colorado Springs; her father; three brothers, Raymond C. Winther, Mark Winther and Craig Winther, all of Villisca; and two sisters, Mary S. Buick of Villisca and Debra C. Lehman of Tenville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by a son, Lane Eno.
