HOWARD L. LEMESANY
Mr. Lemesany, 69, died June 12, 2001, at a local hospital. He retired from civil service and served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1955.
Mr. Lemesany was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Calhan, to George and Pauline (Magura) Lemesany, who are deceased. He was married July 27, 1958, to Sandra J. Woolsey, who is deceased.
He is survived by two sons, Roger D. of Calhan and Reid L. of Peyton; a daughter, Rhonda S. Farabaugh of Eagle River, Alaska; two brothers, George of Fort Collins and Leonard of Colorado Springs; a sister, Florence Crawford of Falcon; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Christopher.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and Friday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Ave., Calhan. Burial will be at Calhan Cemetery, Calhan.

RETIRED COMMAND SGT. MAJ. MILTON CRAIG
Command Sgt. Maj. Craig, 71, died June 10, 2001, at a local hospital. He served in the Army for 25 years. He was a member and on the board of directors of the Buffalo Soldiers Calvary of West.
Command Sgt. Maj. Craig was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Boley, Okla., to Samuel and Dora Lee (Martin) Craig, who are deceased. He was married in November 1955 to Paula Schuchmann, who is deceased.
He is survived by three daughters, Loretta M. Vallier, Sharon L. Seidel and Carmen M. Santistevan; three brothers, James Craig of Riverside, Calif., Claude Gordon of Tulsa, Okla., and William Alverson of Colorado Springs; three sisters, Norma Jean Price, Vonsetta Alverson and Sue Gaiteis, all of Tulsa; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Craig and Clyde Gordon.
Visitation was held Wednesday at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 902 S. Prospect St. A committal service with full military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., staging area C, Denver.
OZELLE E. McGREW
Mrs. McGrew, 82, died June 12, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a housewife.
Mrs. McGrew was born Dec. 12, 1918, in Athens, Ala. She was married to Robert T. McGrew, who is deceased
She is survived by a son, Richard; two sisters, Retha Cochran and Peggy Fizer; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William D.

DOROTHY WALKER BRITTON
Mrs. Britton, 84, died June 11, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker in her own home.
Mrs. Britton was born April 25, 1917, in Lanesboro, Iowa, to C.B. and Anna (Ripley) Walker, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 4, 1940, to Ronald Earl Britton, who is deceased.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Riley; a brother, Harold Walker; and three grandsons, Eric Riley, Sean Riley and Mark Riley.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922. Inurnment will be private.

VIRGINIA FRANCES MARTIN
Mrs. Martin, 83, died June 7, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a real estate closing secretary.
Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Colorado Springs to Thomas Hugh Rose and Jenny June Kelsey, who are deceased. She was married March 18, 1942, to Eugene "Gene" Thomas Martin, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Eldon "Spike"; a daughter-in-law, Eileen; a sister, Maralee Burkhalter; a special friend, Alex Ruffin; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Deputy Hugh Martin, and a brother, Hugh Rose.
Graveside services were held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303, handled arrangements.

RETIRED MASTER SGT. PAUL M. SCARANTINO
Master Sgt. Scarantino, 42, died June 11, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He served as a telecommunications craftsman in the Air Force from 1977, medically retiring as master sergeant in 1992.
Master Sgt. Scarantino was born July 19, 1958, in Detroit, to Alphonse and Gloria Cass Scarantino. He was married Feb. 17, 1981, to Chun Hui Yi.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Stephen; two daughters, Angelina and Jennifer; his parents; three brothers, Jeffrey, James and Robert; two sisters, Pamela Marelich and Lisa Kondrath; and his grandmother, Jennie Scaranteno.

NELSIE J. FOWLER
Mrs. Fowler, 93, died June 12, 2001, at a local care center.
Mrs. Fowler was born May 7, 1908, in Hanover, Jamaica, to Hemans and Martha Powell, who are deceased. She was married in 1936 to Joseph M. Fowler, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Victor of Ottawa, Canada; two daughters, Nelda Guy of Colorado Springs and Marion Davis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Ellen Boswell of Montego Bay, Jamaica; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Burial will be in Jamaica.
PATRICIA IRENE (REITZ) SIMPSON
Mrs. Simpson, 55, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 10, 2001, in Davenport, Fla. She was a cosmetologist.
Mrs. Simpson was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Elyria, Ohio, to Wilburt and Bernadette Reitz, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 14, 1994, to William Simpson.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Rodney ; a daughter, Veronica Marshall; four brothers, Eugene Reitz, Richard Reitz, James Reitz and Robert Reitz; a sister, Marilyn Plas; and seven grandchildren.

JOAN E. THOMAS
Mrs. Thomas, 62, died June 12, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She worked as a library assistant for Pikes Peak Library, Penrose Branch, retiring in 1995. She also worked for Cape May County Library from 1998 to 1999.
Mrs. Thomas was born June 3, 1939, in North Wildwood, N.J., to Leon and Ethyl Gannett. Her father is deceased. She was married July 6, 1993, to John Thomas.
She is survived by her husband; three sons and their families, Randy Hausman, Richard Hausman and Ronald Hausman; her mother; a brother and his family, Richard Gannett; a sister and her family, Carol Gannett; and 12 grandchildren.

MICHAEL JOSEPH KERN
Mr. Kern, 44, died June 11, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was the fire chief at Peterson Air Force Base. He served in the Air Force from 1975 to 1995, retiring as senior master sergeant.
Mr. Kern was born Jan. 19, 1957, in San Francisco to Michael E. and Edith C. (Ernser) Kern. His mother is deceased. He was married Oct. 9, 1998, to Evelyn Galang.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Jennifer, Gabrielle and Jasmine; his father; his stepmother, Morjory Kern; three brothers, Jerry, Gregory and Gary; and three sisters, Diana, Michelle and Susan. He was preceded in death by a brother, David A.

DWIGHT EDWARD WOOLDRIDGE
Mr. Wooldridge, 55, died June 10, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He retired as a master sergeant from Army intelligence after 22 years of service.
Mr. Wooldridge was born June 26, 1945, in Athens, Ala., to Nolan E. and Viola DeVoard Wooldridge, who are deceased. He was married Feb. 3, 1971, to Cecelia Wagner.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Brian Edward and Joey William; a daughter, Charlene Kelly; four brothers, Alton, Milton, Tommy and Wayne; and four sisters, Kat Roberts, Clema Fay, Lois Harvey and Linda Hill.

NYLA MELISSA LOUTZENHISER
Mrs. Loutzenhiser, 85, died June 11, 2001, at a local care center. She was a homemaker and formerly a teacher and bookkeeper.
Mrs. Loutzenhiser was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Tyrone, Okla., to Halford M. and Margaret C. (Ballard) Asher, who are deceased. She was married to Donald Loutzenhiser, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Gregg; a stepson, Duane; two stepdaughters, Darlene Jewell and Jo Mix; three cousins, Vic Ballard, Loretta Asher Crisp and Shirley Asher Dowell; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Marlyn Asher.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 6, 1902, in Peyton to Charles E. Wade and Ida Taylor, who are deceased. She was married Sept. 3, 1922, in Colorado Springs to Poole Thomas Johnson, who is deceased.
She is survived by three daughters, Norma Bates, Emma Jean Dell and Joan Harding; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and three grandchildren.
