RETIRED SENIOR MASTER SGT. SOLLY TOBIN

Senior Master Sgt. Tobin, 80, died June 22, 2001, at a local hospital. He worked for Central Bank for 10 years. He also served in the Air Force for 31 years and retired as an administrative superintendent.

Senior Master Sgt. Tobin was born July 31, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Max and Celia (Kimmel) Tobin. He was married May 18, 1946, to Ruth (Schwartzberg) Tobin.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Jeff Tobin, of Virginia; three daughters, Gail Franz of Germany, Audrey Ausgotharp of Colorado Springs, and Gina Alamo of Colorado Springs; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Private entombment will be at Memorial Garden Mausoleum., 3825 Airport Rd.

JANICE ELIZABETH BLAKELY

Mrs. Blakely, 80, died June 22, 2001, at a local care center. She retired as executive director of the El Paso County Health Association and was a mother and homemaker.

Mrs. Blakely was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Detroit to Byron Frank Bushman and Muriel Jesse Pound, who are deceased. She was married in December 1946 to Warren A. Blakely, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Bryan W. and Frank W.; a daughter, Stacy P. Blakely; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Muriel Paul.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shove Chapel at Colorado College, 14 E. Cache La Poudre Drive. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.

MARGARET ACHESON (CLARK) BRYANT McCUAIG

Mrs. McCuaig, 83, died June 21, 2001, at a local care center. She was a former school teacher and comptometer operator for Trans World Airlines.

Mrs. McCuaig was born June 14, 1918, in St. Louis to Edward and Florence Clark, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 3, 1942, to Harold Jennings Bryant, who is deceased, and then she was married Sept. 20, 1948, to Jack Walsh McCuaig, who is deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Lois Bryant Booker and Jo McCuaig Lillig; a sister, Dorothy Clark; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Charles Clark; three sisters, Helen Bauer, Edith Palm and Ruth Clark; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Grace Bible Church, 5075 Flintridge Drive. Private burial at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. is planned. Cappadona’s Alternative Funeral Service, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

WESLEY R. ANDERSON

Mr. Anderson, 76, died June 18, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was former owner of Contact Colorado Springs. He served in the Army for three years as a lineman in France, the Rhineland and central Europe.

Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 12, 1924, in Minneapolis to John A. and Marie R. (McConnell) Anderson, who are deceased. He was married to Jennie Lee Otto, who is deceased.

He is survived by three sons, David K., Darrel K. and Jeffrey J.; a brother, Russell J.; a sister, Ruth A. Owens; his beloved friend, Doris Adam; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St. After the services, a reception will be at 1920 Sussex Lane. Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922, is handling arrangements.

DANIEL R. KAPS

Mr. Kaps, 20, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 20, 2001, in Lancaster, Pa., of injuries sustained by a motor vehicle. He was employed by Tyson Food Inc. and recently by Shoe Department.

Mr. Kaps was born Dec. 29, 1980, in Norristown, Pa.

He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Martinez, of Colorado Springs; his stepfather, Scott Christian, of Colorado Springs; his father, Price Kaps, of Gap, Pa.; his stepmother, Betty Kaps, of Gap; a brother, Dustin, of Christiana, Pa.; a sister, Shawna Hernandez, of Lancaster; his grandparents, Price Jackson of Ohio, Nancy Kaps of Gap, Joseph Martinez of Barto, Pa., and Marjorie Yorgey of Norristown; and his step-grandfather, Robert Kaps, of Norristown.

Visitation will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday with services at 5 p.m. at Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster. Services will be July 8 in Colorado Springs. Bachman Funeral Home, Strastbart, Pa., (717) 687-7644, is handling arrangements.

MAUDIE E. HAMMER

Mrs. Hammer, 90, died June 20, 2001, at a local care center. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and ranch wife.

Mrs. Hammer was born Oct. 11, 1910, in Wanette, Okla., to Curtis Lee and Sally Lowe Selby, who are deceased. She was married to Elmer L. Teakell, who is deceased. She then was married April 19, 1948, to William Harvey "Bill" Hammer, who is deceased.

She is survived by two children, Dwight N. Teakell and Letha Joy Acton; a brother, Eddie Selby; three sisters, Bessie Pelfrey, Geneva Malbrough and Estelle Neal; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Grady Teakell, Billy Wayne Teakell and Patrick Teakell; and a daughter, Loretta Mae Teakell.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, 757 S. Santa Fe Ave., Fountain.

LILLIE SISK

Mrs. Sisk, 92, died June 21, 2001, at a local care center. She retired from Alexander Film Co. in Colorado Springs. She belonged to the United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Sisk was born March 10, 1909, in Hopkins County, Ky., to Joe and Stella (Allen) Terry, who are deceased. She was married May 9, 1945, in Raton, N.M., to Vollie T. Sisk, who is deceased.

She is survived by a nephew, David Price; a niece, Pauline Price; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Marshall and Florence Trotter.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. No services are planned. A private entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum.

CLARA M. HARTLEY

Mrs. Hartley, 84, died June 20, 2001, at a local hospital. She was co-owner and co-operator of a motel.

Mrs. Hartley was born Aug. 26, 1916, in Hanover, to Conway and Nine (Finch) Akers, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 3, 1940, in Colorado Springs to Robert Hartley.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mary Jane Boyd of Broomfield; a son-in-law, Dean Boyd; a sister, Nora McCarty of Colorado Springs; and a granddaughter, Adrienne Boyd. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Central United Methodist Church, 4373 Galley Road. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

DOUGLAS C. NEEL

Mr. Neel, 55, a former Colorado Springs, died May 21, 2001, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was an air traffic controller. He served in the Air Force from July 1967 to July 1972.

Mr. Neel was born Sept. 24, 1945, in Rupert, Idaho.

He is survived by two daughters, Leah Miller-Neel and Tonya Larson; a brother, Wayne; a sister, Twyla Ray Dreyfus; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m Saturday at North Cheyenne Cañon Park, Mesa Picnic Area. Ashes will be spread at a later date near Lake City. Alaska Cremation Center, Anchorage, (907) 279-3741, handled arrangements.

WILMETA E. (OAKLEY) ZIEGLER

Mrs. Ziegler, 84, died June 10, 2001, at a local care center. She was a housewife and mother.

Mrs. Ziegler was born March 3, 1917, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Emory M. and Sadie O. Oakley, who are deceased. She was married Nov. 9, 1935, to Harry W. Ziegler, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, John H. and David M.; a daughter, Joyce F. Sloan; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Burial was at Bear Canyon Cemetery, Perry Park Road and Wolfensberger Road, Castle Rock. Mission Crematory, 930 S. Hancock Ave., 475-2169, handled arrangements.

RETIRED COL. ELON LONG

Col. Long, 75, died June 20, 2001, at a local care center. He served in the Air Force from 1943 to 1946 and from 1951 to 1976.

Col. Long was born July 19, 1925, in Center, N.D., to Martin Elon and Luetta (Halberstadt) Long, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 25, 1955, to Trudy A. Dragunas.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Marie L. Neefus; a sister, Christine Elaine Garrett; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Theodore; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Rogers.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.

EUGENE M. LILLEY

Mr. Lilley, 93, died June 18, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was a welder at Marion Power Shovel Co., Marion, Ohio. He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, Marion, and a member of United Steel Workers.

Mr. Lilley was born Jan. 1, 1908, in Kenton, Ohio, to Nagel Hayes and Lulu (McComas) Lilley, who are deceased. He was married June 27, 1929, to Vera A. Detwiler.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Darlene J. Arnold; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Bruce; an infant brother; and three sisters, Ruth Shaw, Margaret List and Thelma Snyder.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Boyd Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grove Cemetery, Kenton. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling local arrangements.
