Hill, Yvonne Marie (Lattery)
Hill, Yvonne Marie (Lattery) of Vulcan passed away at the High River Hospital on May 24th, 2004 at the age of 82 years. Yvonne was born on December 31st, 1921 at Red Willow near Stettler. She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Duane Hill and her four daughters; Sharon (Bryan) Huff of Lomond, Linda (Rob) Appleby of Beaverlodge, Karen (Wally) Mensinger of Lomond and Darlene (Robert) Phillips of Milo. She will also be missed by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, three sisters (Lottie, Gertie and Madeline) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Shirley, and grandson Byran. Yvonne was an active member of the Vulcan Ladies Auxiliary Branch 21. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Vulcan Ladies Auxiliary, Box 1016, Vulcan, Alberta, T0L 2B0. Hunter, Stacey Bruce T. (Star) was called home by our creator on Wednesday, May 19th, 2004 at the University Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. He leaves to mourn his wife Tammy and his 4 beautiful children Stacina, Shania, Tashena and Daisy; brothers Sheldon (Teresa) and Trevor (Janadine); parents Paul & Kathleen Poucette; adopted sisters Renee (Elvin) and Melvandra (Pierre); Uncle Councillor Keith (Jamie) Lefthand, Bonita (Brian) JimmyJohn, step-sister Alvina JimmyJohn, cousins Corrie, Cody (Crystal), Katie, Kenton, Colten Lefthand, Clifford (Jessica), Travis (Kathy), Candace and Lane JimmyJohn, nephews Emilio and Teegan JimmyJohn,uncle Sam (Annie) Ear; aunts Frances (Don) Ear, Christina Ear, Marjorie (Frank) Chiniquay, Virginia (Gordon) Wildman, Josephine Simeon; sisters Jacqueline Rollinmud and Melody Twoyoungman; special cousins & best friends Lorne (Karen) Labelle, Randy Labelle and Cory (Christy) Wildman as well as numerous other cousins, nephews and nieces. Bruce enjoyed many sports hockey, volleyball, baseball, football, rodeo, hunting, musician and artwork. He was also a member of the Nakoda Nation Drum Group. He was predeceased by his mother Betty Hunter (Dec. 2002) and father Ernest Ear (Aug. 1975); his maternal grandparents John Lefthand Sr. (Dec. 1998) and Daisy Hunter (1949); his paternal grandparents Moses Ear (Mar. 1997), Christine Ear (Nov. 1994); uncle Randolf Ear; aunt Rose Ear; brothers Sanders Rollinmud and Emmette Twoyoungman; special cousin and best friend Garon T. Wildman as well as numerous cousins and nephews. Wake service was held in the home he shared with his family on Monday, May 24th, 2004. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 25th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chief Jacob Bearspaw School in Eden Valley. Interment service to follow at the Eden Valley Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff at U.A.H., Foothills and Rockyview hospitals for their compassionate care during his stay in their units. Moncrieff, Tom
Moncrieff, Tom passed away on May 11th, 2004 at the High River Hospital at the age of 77 years. Tom is survived by his loving wife Marjorie; sons Phillip (Susan), Larry, Rob (Pam); brothers Gerald, Lloyd (Millie), Floyd (Pat), Clayton (Babetta), Earl (Sheila); sisters Audrey (Bill) Ostrom, and Joyce (Al) Peters. Tom is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Mary as well as his brother Claude. Tom was born on December 19th, 1926 on the farm 3 miles west of Cayley. He lived in Cayley most of his life where he worked on seismac crews as well as operating his gravel truck. Later Tom got his auto body license and for sixteen years before retirement he was the Village of Cayley Foreman. A memorial service was held at the Wood Memorial United Church in Cayley on Saturday, May 15th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wood Memorial United Church, Box 101, Cayley, Alberta, T0L 0P0. Nash, Isabel
Nash, Isabel of High River, formerly of the Gladys Ridge area, passed away at the High River Hospital on May 23rd, 2004 at the age of 90 years. She is
survived by her daughter Lynne (Derry) Ellice, Blackie; her sons Dale (Harriet), Bakersfield, CA; Les (Ella), Ft. McMurray, Lyle (Janet), High River as well as thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, Thelma Johnston, High River, uncle Alvin Wilson and sister-in-law Pat Peterson both of Claresholm. Isabel was predeceased by her husband Stan Nash and brother Ray Peterson. A memorial service will be held at SNODGRASS FUNERAL CHAPEL, High River on Friday, May 28th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m.. An interment service will follow at the Highwood Cemetery. Payne, born August 30th, 1952, passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2004 at the age of 51 years. She leaves to mourn her children, Kaela, Talon and Mikel Payne all of Nanton along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Harry “Rocky” Ewashik and mother Della Ewashik. Poersch, Gwyneth of Nanton passed away at the Foothills Hospital on May 15th, 2004 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her husband Ginu and her daughters Bev (Ken) Patton and Jean (John) Berger all of Nanton and by her grandchildren Wesley and Curtis Patton, Brad (Tricia) Berger, Carla (Mike) Ransom and Lori Berger and great-granddaughter Gracie. She will also be missed by her siblings, Phyllis Jones, Kelowna, Evan (Audrey) Williams, Lethbridge, Edith (Hubert) Warren, Champion, Bob (Grace) Williams, Lethbridge, Grace Macleod, Calgary, Glen (Helen) Williams, Nanton, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Smith, Norman
Smith, Norman of Nanton passed away on May 23rd, 2004 at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie ; his children; Luther (Sande), Eulana (Murray) Sears, Eldon (Léna) all of Nanton along with his grandchildren Shanon (John) Creason, Brad Smith (Kelli Husted) Scott Smith, Stephanie Sears, Jared Sears and Marie-Soleil Smith. Norman is also survived by his siblings; Maxine (Ray) Ohler, Stavely, Duane (Darla) Smith and Donna (Jorgen) Pedersen all of Nanton and sisters-in-law Phyllis Smith, Calgary and Leona Koenig, Lumby, BC. He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence. Born at Nanton on June 8th, 1931, Norman received his schooling at Parkland and Nanton. Following school he was employed with BA Oil until starting his own company, N.L. Smith Construction Ltd., in 1953. He and the former Marie Weber were married in that same year. Norm enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling and motorcycling as well as his work, all things that he was able to share with his family. A memorial service was held at the Nanton-Parkland United Church, Nanton on Friday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Britt Jessen officiating. Stuart, Blanche May (nee: Tucker)
Stuart, Blanche May (nee: Tucker), passed away at the Oilfields Hospital, Black Diamond, on May 15, 2004 at the age of 89 years. Blanche was born at Attwood, CO. on July 14, 1914. She came to southern Alberta with her parents in 1917. She married Jack Stuart in 1933. Together they raised their 12 children in the oilfields area. Blanche was a chartered member of the Sheep Creek Weavers and Spinners Club as well, enjoyed all handy crafts. She moved to the High Country Lodge in Black Diamond in 1989. Blanche was predeceased by her husband Jack, son Ross, grandson Tom Steinbach and 6 siblings. She is survived by 11 children; Bob (Joyce), Ruth (Bernard) Steinbach, Joyceanna Berreth, Roy (Cherie), Wayne, Bud (Linda), Bill (Delores), Harry (Linda), Allan (Kathy), Lorne (Collette), Dale (Candy) and daughter in-law Carol (Ross), 38 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 4 sisters as well as numerous other extended family. A visitation was held at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 200 Woodgate Rd. Okotoks, on Thursday, May 20 between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held at Lewis Memorial United Church, Turner Valley, on Friday, May 21, at 2:00 p.m. Shirley Collard officiating. Interment followed at Foothills Cemetery. If desired, in memory of Blanche, memorial contributions may be made to The Arthritis Society, 200, 1301 – 8 Street SW, Calgary T2R 1B7. Alexander, David
It is with a heavy heart that I, Tracey announce the passing of my best friend and husband, David on August 24, 2004 at the age of 51 years. David courageously fought a hard battle with an undiagnosed tumor. Throughout this long battle David persevered with strength, will, integrity and wit all in tact. He was predeceased by his father Arthur and his sister June. David will be deeply missed by his loving mother Florence and two beautiful daughters Dallace and Lindsay. His brother Wayne, sisters Ruth, Kathy, Linda and their families as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. David’s life loves were sunshine, quiet times at home, and although not always in contact, reminiscing of dear friends and family.
