She is survived by her two sons, Rick and his daughter Julia and Al (Karen) and their daughter Danielle; as well as one sister Betty of Sudbury, ON and her family. Irene was predeceased by her parents; and sisters, Stella and Beatrice. You are all together now, God Bless. Born in Birtle, MB, her travels took her to Elkhorn, Sudbury and eventually settling in Winnipeg where she resided for 45 years. Mom had a great love for the outdoors. One of her most enjoyable hobbies was gardening. She had a special flair for creating something beautiful out of nothing. Irene especially enjoyed the many summers spent at Lake of the Woods at the family cottage, her haven. The addition of her granddaughters, Danielle and Julia, came later in her life and renewed Mom's zest for life. Being a grandmother was her crowning achievement. She was always so proud. A Celebration of Irene's Life will be announced at a later date. Extra special thanks to the staff at the Golden Links Lodge for their care, compassion and understanding. Your efforts will always be fondly remembered and appreciated. Thanks, also to the staff of the Grace and the Victoria General Hospitals for all of their help. In lieu of flowers, Mom would greatly appreciate a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a children's charity of your choice. There are far too many memories and accomplishments to mention in one tribute. For those of us who knew her, We all understand.
