BRENDA FRASER
August 11, 2004
BRENDA FRASER (nee SADOWAY) October 8, 1949 - August 6, 2004 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother Brenda at the age of 54 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rhonda, Tracy, Robert, Keith (Suzie), Christopher, daughter Kyla (Chris), grandchildren, Brandon, Keenan, Cole, Quaid and Quintal. Brenda was predeceased by her husband Barry Robert Fraser on August 22, 1998, and by her mother Vera in 1961, and her father John in 1991. She is survived by her brother Brent (Susan) Sadoway, and their three sons, Ryan, Jessie and Reid of Saskatoon. Brenda was born
in Canora, SK in 1949. As a child, Brenda excelled with many different forms of artistic talents. She appeared on the CKOS Yorkton TV on several occasions to showcase her piano playing and singing. She was artistic in other ways as well. Along with being an exceptional singer, she loved to sketch and write poems. These skills are very evident in her children as well, which she took great pride in. She also studied ballet as a young girl. She met her husband Barry in Yorkton, where they eventually married. Together they had three boys, who were her reason for being. She dedicated her life to cleaning up after their little messes and making sure they were loved with several hugs and kisses every day. They lived the abundance of their adult lives in Gimli, MB, working side by side at North American Lumber. Together Brenda and Barry took part in several charitable organizations and were active Legion members. They gave all they could back to their community and were a well respected couple amongst all their peers. She was trying to help people all she could right until her untimely passing, recently enrolling in a mental health support worker program to help people struggling with various crippling mental illnesses. All of us were extremely proud of the fact that she wanted to pursue that avenue, and we gave her our full support. Many hearts are full of sorrow at this time, because she was a beautiful, unique woman, that can't be fairly described here in words. To know her was to love her. God bless you mom, we know you are in a better place. Funeral service will be held at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr, on Friday, August 13 at 1:00 p.m. with interment at Brookside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations will be accepted by the family for the purchase of a memorial marker or to The Meeting Place, 139 Smith St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1J5. TIM FUNK
August 11, 2004
TIM FUNK April 12, 1957 - August 7, 2004 We would like to share with you a brief glimpse of the life of an incredible man. A husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. A man who had a profound effect on so many lives. Tim was a man who lived life with passion. He dreamed big and then lived his dream. His love for simple things in life was evident to everyone. A good book, horseback riding on rainy days, sitting by a crackling fire, and never ending music, to mention a few. His interests were as diverse as the many facets of his personality. He was the strong silent type! A man of few words, but when he spoke, you listened. The more time you spent with him, the more you would discover all the hidden depths that made him so unique. Tim lived life at his own pace. He would spend the time required to get the perfect results that he had expected in all he did. Life was meant to be enjoyed, and he enjoyed life! Tim found true love in Karen, at the age of 13, and they were married seven years later. Tim and Karen shared 27 years of marriage together. Their lives were enriched by the birth of their two children, Shane and Jody Lynn. Tim had extra-ordinary courage and phenomenal strength with which he faced each and every challenge in life. This became increasingly evident in the last few months and weeks. His faith in God was unshakable, and in the most difficult times it was obvious that the prince of peace was reigning in his life. Tim was certain that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose. The facts of his circumstances did not change the truth of Gods word. Tim's favourite kind of day was when the rain was falling and you could hear the thunder rolling across the sky. On just such a day, Saturday, August 7, at 11:30 p.m., in his home surrounded by family singing and in prayer, Tim was peacefully ushered into the presence of the Lord. We will miss you Tim. Being a man of integrity, Tim's desire to be in good standing before God and man was of a high priority to him in a letter penned by his own hand, he left us this message; I have forgiven all people who have erred me, now walk in forgiveness and bless God for putting us together to cause each other to grow. Should there be someone that I have hurt in any way and during my living days have not asked your forgiveness, I do so now. I have prayed Gods blessing on you and asked God that we may see each other in heaven. Eph. 4:29-32+5:1-5 Tim is survived by his wife Karen; their son Shane; daughter and son-in-law Jodi Lynn and Steve Ginter; as well as his parents, Peter D. and Nettie Funk; three brothers, two sisters and their spouses and children, Ed and Lorna of Calgary, AB, Cliff and Yvonne Inscho of Grunthal, Mel and Brenda of Grunthal, Melinda and Dan Scheper of Steinbach, Barry and Chierie of Niverville, many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins to numerous to name. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Niki and Johnathon; and his father-in-law, Harold Gerbrandt. A celebration of Tim's life will take place on Thursday, August 12, at Spring's church in Steinbach, 2:30 p.m. The Burial will take place at the Grunthal cemetery prior to the service, with the processional to the cemetery to begin at the church at 12:30 p.m. Viewing will be on Wednesday, August 11, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision, High Adventure Gospel Communication ministries or the International Fellowship of Christians + Jews of Canada.
