NETTIE LUCKO
June 14, 2004
NETTIE LUCKO It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Nettie Lucko, at Kin Place Personal Care Centre, Oakbank on June 11, 2004. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1975; her brothers, Walter, John, Nick and Frank; and sisters, Steph, Nellie, Ann and Mary. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Alan (Bernice), Linda (Dan) Tysz and Ken (Joan); her grandchildren, Mark (Kim), Sheryl; her great-granddaughter Brooklyn; and her sister-in-law Helen Masnyk. Nettie, along with her husband Stanley, owned and operated Lucko's General Store in Monominto, MB. She continued with the business, with the help of her youngest son, and became quite the astute business woman. She was a wonderful mother who seemed to do it all. She helped run the business, took care of three children, cooked, baked, sewed and gardened. Her love of animals was evident by her raising orphaned rabbits, feeding birds and always having a cat or dog. In later years due to declining health, Nettie moved to Kin Place Personal Care Home. She made new acquaintances and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities even though she sometimes complained there were too many parties and not enough time to rest. Her "Ukrainian" conversations with Rose were very enjoyable to her. A very special thank you to the staff at Kin Place for their support, kindness and concern. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Kin Place Personal Care Home, 680 Pine St., Oakbank, MB R0E 1J0 would be greatly appreciated. You can only have one mother Patient, kind and true, No other friend in all the world Would be so true to you. For all her loving kindness She asked nothing in return. If all the world deserted us, To mother we would turn. To those who have a mother Treasure her with care, For you will never miss her Till you know that she's not there. A golden heart stopped beating Her body is now at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Only those who live to tell The pain of parting without farewell. Others were taken, yes we know But she was ours, and we miss her so. Prayers will be offered Tuesday evening, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with funeral service to follow on Wednesday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. also at the chapel with Fr.
