TERRENCE ARNOLD MARSHALL March 16, 1927 - October 5, 2002 On Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the Grace Hospital. Terry is survived by his sons, Greg (Aileen) of Kamloops, BC, Glen (Janice) of Florida and Murray (Karen) of Winnipeg. He will be greatly missed by his friend and companion Doreen of Winnipeg; Debbie (Ken) and Doug (Diana), all of Winnipeg; his grandchildren, Connor, Sydney, Tara, Amanda, Geoffrey, Vanessa and Jessica; and his many, many friends. As per Terry's request, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held. Donations to the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Jim Moar

JIM MOAR It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather on October 7, 2002 at the Grace Hospital. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Gertrude; his children, Reta (Butch) and Randy (Cathy); grandchildren, Darren (Bev), Cindy (John), Hali, Travis and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Kiera, Brody, Adria, Salem and Remi. Also surviving is his sister Elsie Ross and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Polly; daughter Ruthie; sisters, Mae, Tina Belle and Barbara; brothers, Dan, Robert, Julius and Jack and grandson Derek. Jim served in the Army Service Corp. from 1941 to 1965. From 1965 to 1976 he worked as a truck driver until his health failed and he then retired from the work force. After retirement his work consisted of chauffeuring his children and grandchildren to their many appointments and activities. Family was very important to Jim. His grandchildren were always foremost in his heart and he spent many happy times with them, leaving many cherished memories. His most enjoyable times were spent outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. The weekly family card games held many laughs and he would play until he started to lose and then he would say, "I can't handle these women any longer, I'm going to bed." If he was winning he would play all night and gloat. The family would like to extend their thanks to the wonderful staff at the Grace Hospital for the loving care they gave to Jim. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m., at St. Bedes Anglican Church in Kinosota, MB, R0H 0L0. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, a donation would be appreciated to St. Bedes Anglican Church in Kinosota or a charity of their choice. Sally Molon

SALLY MARY MOLON (nee COSTYK) It is with deep sadness that our family announces the death of Sally Molon. She died peacefully with her family at her side at Seven Oaks Hospital on October 7, 2002. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Walter, who predeceased her on January 1, 1999. Mom was born icon in Winnipeg on December 6, 1910. She enjoyed traveling in her younger years and always worked hard. She married Dad on May 4, 1946. Mom took pride in being a housewife and mother. She was an excellent seamstress, wonderful cook and enjoyed working in her garden. She was also an avid reader. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Ruth and E. Walter Schau; grandchildren, Walter and Jennifer; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Sally was predeceased by her parents, husband Walter, brother Stanley, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Boyd for his kindness and compassion, Jackie for making Mom feel safe and cared for, the staff of 5th Floor, Unit 6, Seven Oaks Hospital for the excellent care, and the staff of the Emergency Dept. for their competency and understanding. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service; flowers gratefully declined. Denise Moreau

DENISE LUCILLE MOREAU (nee OUELLETTE) Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Moreau on Monday, October 7, 2002 in the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 65 years. Denise is survived by her husband Andy of 32 years; her children, Suzette Prasek (Marlowe), Norm Carbonneau (Ingrid) and Lise Carbonneau; brothers, Moe (Cindy), Rolly (Bea), Roger (Rose), Larry (Anne), Ray, Bobby (Louisanne), Danny and Michael; one sister Frances Clarke (Peter). Grandma will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Andrew, Mackenzie, Michelle and Tanner. She was predeceased by her father Lionel, mother Clara, brother Gerald and sister Pauline. Denise moved to Winnipeg in 1970 from North Bay, ON and began her career with Cam Gard Supply as the executive assistant to the president. After graduating from the Canadian Institute of Management, she joined Reed Stenhouse in 1978 and retired in 1997 as vice president of finance and administration. Denise was involved with many associations throughout her career and was the president of Administrative Management Society and a director of Canadian Institute of Management Winnipeg Branch. Throughout her life, Denise enjoyed music, golf, crafts and helping others. Grandma held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She loved their company, revelled in their endeavours and soothed their sorrows. Since retirement Denise and Andy enjoyed the winter months in Palm Springs, CA where they made many friends who they became very close to over the past five years. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB, with the Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand presiding. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Oncology Department at the Victoria General Hospital and the caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Riverview Health Centre. Andy would like to thank their closest friends for their kindness and support during this very difficult time. LAURA MOSIONIER On Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital, Laura passed away after a brief illness. Laura was predeceased by her husband Raymond, daughter Lorraine Connell and brother Aurther Marchand. Laura leaves to mourn four sons, William and wife Catlina, Wayne and wife Carol, Ron and wife Marilyn all from Winnipeg, Larry from White Rock, BC; one sister Adele Belcourt from St. Eustache, MB; her grandchildren, Rene, Linda, Jeff and Vanessa; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her cat Whiskers. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, October 10 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Ash interment will be held at a later date. Irene Mussell

IRENE BERTHA MUSSELL (McQUAY) Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully in Concordia General Hospital on Friday, October 4, 2002, with her husband and two sons at her side. Irene was born icon July 24, 1927, the youngest of seven children of William Arthur and Bertha McQuay and was raised in Elmwood. She attended Annagibson and Lord Selkirk schools, graduating in 1944. In 1945 she received her secretarial diploma from Success Business College and went on to become a successful corporate executive secretary, in both Winnipeg and Toronto. Irene married her high school sweetheart Gordon, in 1948. Together they raised two sons, Gord and Greg in Elmwood and East Kildonan. In 1972, Gordon's career entailed a relocation to Toronto. While she enjoyed their 17 years of residence in Toronto, Irene's heart was always in Winnipeg. She and Gordon retired in 1989 and returned to their roots. She was a devoted grandmother who followed all of her grandchildren's activities with pride and joy. She was also an avid partner to Gordon in their various gardens, and produced culinary delights from their harvests. Irene is survived by her husband Gordon, her sons Gord (Susan) and Greg (Cheryl); and grandchildren, Christopher, Kathryn, Jennifer, Jacqueline and David. At Irene's request, cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at a private family ceremony in Elmwood Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris, the Oncology clinic staff, as well as the Concordia third floor nurses and attendants for the exceptional care and attention provided. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations in Irene's memory may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church. A memorial service to honour Irene will be held at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave., on Wednesday October 9, at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Donna Mahussier, Rector, will preside. IRVINE SYLVESTER PARK Peacefully, on Oct-ober 6, 2002 at the age of 89 years, at the Boyne Lodge in Carman with his family at his side, Irvine Park passed away. Irvine leaves to mourn his wife Margaret of 61 years; one son Rae (Betty) of Carman; one daughter Joyce (Jim) Ross of Portage la Prairie; five grandchildren, Jeffery (Karen) Park, Jason Park, Craig (Natasha) Ross, Marc Ross, Ann Ross (friend Michael). Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Cass Ready, Gert Campbell, Joan Park; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mabel Park; brothers, Melvin and Cecil; sisters, Iva and Velma; sisters-in-law, Martha MacPherson and Mary Park; brothers-in-law, Allan MacPherson, Mac Ready, Jack Campbell and Wilbur Miller. Irv was born icon on the family farm on August 3, 1913 where he spent his entire life until July 2001 when ill health prompted his move to the Boyne Lodge. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 10 at 3:00 p.m. at the Carman United Church, with Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. Nora Prince

NORA GERTRUDE PRINCE October 16, 1933 - October 7, 2002 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom, Nora Gertrude Prince, of Peguis First Nation, on October 7, 2002, at the age of 68 years. Nora is survived by her daughters, Marie Pelletier and Lorraine Kipling (Tony); son David Kipling; grandchildren, Marie (Lange), Elizabeth (Louis), Lance (Kathleen), Lorraine (Gerald), Leonard (Steph), Henry (Monica), Robert (Chrissy), Karen and David; 30 great-grandchildren; sister Elsie; brother Leonard; many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Nora was predeceased by her husband Roy Prince (1994), sister Marie Antoinette (1983), her dad Robert Kipling (1972), her mother Cecelia Kipling (1968). Nora was "mom" to everybody and was friends with everyone she met. She loved to do canning, laugh, play bingo and sew star blankets. Nora took great pride in her family and displayed their pictures around her room. Special thanks to the Peguis Senior Centre Staff, Peguis Chief and Council, Cindy and Raymond Flett and Sister Agnes. A remembrance service will be held at the Peguis Senior Centre on Thursday, October 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A wake service will be held on Thursday, October 10, at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11, at 2:00 p.m., with viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Peguis, MB, with Fr. MARY RUTRICH Peacefully, on Monday, October 7, 2002, Mary Rutrich, aged 97 years, passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband Anton in 1973. Mary will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Mary (Hilar) Gerbery and Ann (Edmund) Hicoski; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and other relatives in the Slovak Republic. The family would like to thank the staff on the 2nd floor of the Holy Family Nursing Home for all their care and compassion. WAYNE FRANCIS SHORT Passed peacefully away at home in St. John's, NF, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 7, 2002 after a two-year battle with cancer. Wayne Francis Short, aged 49 years. Predeceased by his father, Edward in 1991. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his devoted wife of 25 years, Timmie, son Jeffery (special friend Andrea) of Manitoba and daughter Kathy. Also leaving to mourn are his mother Bernice; brothers, Kevin (Mary Elizabeth) of Ontario, Peter (Elaine) of British Columbia; sisters, Carol (Joe) Wadden, Bernadette (Randy) Rowe; mother-in-law Evelyn Gibbons; brothers-in-law, Brian (Beverley) Gibbons, Sandy (Angela) Gibbons, Gerard (Nancy) Gibbons of Nova Scotia; sister-in-law Shelia (Bob) Power of Ontario. Also left to mourn are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, along with a large circle of friends. MARGARET SHUTTLEWORTH 1907 - 2002 Peacefully on October 5, 2002, Margaret Shuttleworth passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 94. She is survived by her family; son Ron (Sandy); daughters, Terry and Sandy (Bruce); grandchildren, Kim (Brian), Roley (Leanne), Erin (Wade), Stacey, Kevin, Carmen, Jason (Kerry), Shari and Brian; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Calder and Danyon; also daughter-in-law Pat and son-in-law Larry; as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and Wales. Margaret was predeceased by her husband George in 1983; her daughter Patricia in 1963; and also five brothers and three sisters.
