EMILY BIHUN With great sadness, we regret to announce the passing of our Mother, Baba and Great-Baba on Monday, July 30, 2001 at St. Boniface Hospital with her children at her side. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, Nick Horoshok; son Ted Horoshok; grandson Jim Horoshok; parents Michael and Telkla Pchjek and second husband Mike Bihun. Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by those whose lives she touched. Left to mourn her passing are her children; son Jim Horoshok and daughter-in-law Pat (of Calgary); daughter Pat Benoit and son-in-law Ron (of Winnipeg); grandchildren, Corrie McGibney (Mark), Randy Horoshok (Margaret), Kelly Quinton (Wayne), Jody Farmer (Jarad), Nikki Buchannon (Jamie), and Toni Benoit (Jonathan); great-grandchilden, Nicholas Hamilton, Tyler and Riley McGibney, Justin, Aaron, Ashley, Jenna Quinton, Jordan and Hayden Farmer, Casey Benoit, Branden and Nethaniel Benoit. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at 8:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 2 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. JERRY BOYCHUK Unexpectedly on July 28, 2001 Jerry passed away at the age of 46. He is survived by his wife Gwenda who was "the love of his life"; and his children, Samuel and Emily; his stepchildren, Dana, Trisha, Margo and Ashley. Also, left with broken hearts is his mother Lena Boychuk; twin sister Janet Hebert; brother-in-law Marcel; and nephews, Daniel and Marc. Jerry was pre-deceased by his father John. Jerry was born
in Winnipeg on January 11, 1955 and grew up in Flin Flon where he lived for 18 years. He was always active and helpful at his parents' business, "Johnny's Confectionary". He played hockey with the Flin Flon Bombers and the University of Manitoba Bisons. He had won a hockey scholarship and became the team captain. After graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Commerce he went on to get his Masters from the University of Western Ontario. His career included entrepreneurship and management with large companies, throughout North America and overseas. His most recent position was the Chief Operating Officer of KT Industries in Winnipeg. "Jer" always demonstrated a positive attitude, an incredible passion for life and true devotion to his family. He had the wisdom to develop untapped capabilities in others. He had an unshakable belief in the Lord. He was active in his church as well as Promise Keepers. JER, WE WILL ALL MISS YOU DEARLY. EMILY MAE CIPRYK (nee PIFKO) Peacefully at her residence, Emily Mae Cipryk, beloved wife of the late Adam Cipryk, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2001 in her 96th year. She will be sadly missed by her son Robert Cipryk and his wife Gail; granddaughter Nancy Campeau and her husband Roger; brother Paul Pifko and his wife Mary; sister Olga Teague and her husband Les, sister Helen Kolodziejak and her husband Victor; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by her daughter Marjorie in 1996. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 59 Academy Road at Wellington Crescent with Pastor James Scholz officiating. Following a reception at the church, interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. STEWART ROSWELL CONQUERGOOD On July 28, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre, Ross Conquergood, passed away at the age of 83 years. Ross was born
in Winnipeg on March 16, 1918. He was raised and farmed in Lilyfield, Municipality of Rosser. Ross found joy in his life as a farmer, in his family and his many friends and in the acquaintances he met while attending auction sales throughout the countryside. He is survived by his sisters, Wilhelmina Smee (Bill), Murdena Kerr, Jean Patterson and Shirley White (Walter); and numerous devoted nieces and nephews. Ross was predeceased by his parents, Murdoch and Frances; sister Flora Elizabeth Green and her husband Harold; infant brother Thomas Matheson Conquergood; and brothers-in-law, Tom Patterson and Walter Kerr. Ross spent two happy years as a resident at Amber Meadows Seniors' Residence. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with The Rev. Dr. Sharon Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lilyfield Cemetery. ELSIE COOPMAN March 9, 1937 - July 29, 2001 Elsie Coopman passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2001 at the Grace General Hospital following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 64 years of age. Elsie leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Bryan; her daughter, Dawn; sons, Douglas (Ellen) and Darryl; grandson, Morgan and granddaughter, Audrey; brothers, George and Harvey (Doris). She is also survived by many other relatives and good friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Rupert and Maybelle Isaac. ANNE DRAYSON On July 30, 2001, Anne Drayson (nee Fusee) of West Park Manor passed away at the age of 97 years. She will be sadly missed and remembered by her two daughters, Betty-Anne and husband Bob, Karen and Husband Mike; sister Robena and daughter-in-law Gloria; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Alfred (Dray) and son Edwin. Born and educated in Neepawa, mom moved to Winnipeg in 1922, where she trained at Grace Hospital. LILLIAN FAURER Lillian Faurer passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on July 31, 2001 in her 84th year, after a battle fought with dignity, courage and her ever-present sense of humour. Beloved wife of the late Charles Faurer and devoted mother of the late Marcia Faurer. Survived by nieces, Terry Rabow Parker and Marianne Rabow Greenbaum. She was a very special lady, and was loved and will be missed by all her friends. Funeral services will be held at the graveside in Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park, Armstrong and Main Street, at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 2.
