Robert King
ROBERT WILLIAM KING Suddenly, on January 22, 2001, Dad passed away at his home with his wife Barbara and his son Bob by his side. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Trish (Cleo). Dad was born
in the Teulon area in 1932 to Isabel and James King, being the youngest of their family. He worked as an independent trucker for Maple Lease Construction and after retiring from trucking he "hung up his truck keys" but his work boots were still on. He then went to work for the Canadian Auction Group (ADESSA) as a driver. Dad made many friends there and thoroughly enjoyed the many laughes and the jokes one could handle with "the Gang." As well, Dad and Mom were employed as caretakers for the Winnipeg Revolver and Pistol Association where they were able to enjoy 17 years of country living. Our Dad fixed and rebuilt many cars and engines for his kids over the years, from motorbikes to school buses, and the compressor was known to make an appearance more than once as he painted the cars the kids brought home. Our Dad was an unbelievable provider - "You have to get the job done" and was always anxious and willing to help someone in need. Dad will be laid to rest in the Teulon Dundas Cemetery, where a private family graveside service will be held. Whenever we see the big trucks hauling - our hearts will remember our Dad. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
