ELIZABETH CAMERON
ELIZABETH (LEE) McDONALD SCOTT CAMERON June 10, 1944 to October 27, 2004 Surrounded by her family, prayer partners, close friends and joyful singing, Elizabeth "Lee" Cameron passed on peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Robert (Bob); her two daughters, Jody and Jane and their extra special friends, Gary and Kris; and her little buddy Baxter. She also leaves to celebrate her life her sisters, Meg Cameron (Bill) and Sue Johnson; stepmother Helen Scott; stepbrother John Moore (Bev); many nieces, nephews and extended family. Lee was predeceased by her parents, Archie and Muriel Scott; her in-laws, Bernadette and Doug Cameron; her brothers-in-law, Jim Ratchford and Terry Johnson; dear aunts, uncles, and cousins, all who will have welcomed her into heaven. Lee's faith was integral to her life, and she freely shared it over the years at church, through bible studies for both youth and adults, and through private prayer sessions. Her faith in Christ shone through in every aspect of her life, genuinely and naturally. Lee was a lover of life. An artist, singer, musician, author, gardener, party planner, educator, volunteer, mentor, and personal inspiration to so many. Her sense of humour and indomitable spirit was infectious. The Lake of the Woods and Clearwater Bay held a special spot in Lee's heart and she and her family have spent every summer there for over 50 years. Here she would putter in her garden, paint, connect with and celebrate family and friends, enjoy reading and lake life. Born in Kenora, ON, Lee attended Kenora Keewatin Public Schools and earned a Social Work Degree from University of Manitoba and an Education Degree from Queen's University. For the last 30 years, she pursued her passion for art and made a career of painting. Her beautiful artwork is now in collections world-wide. Many thanks to Dr. Charles Olweny; special nurses, Bonnie and Therese; and the outstanding medical team and caregivers at St. Boniface Hospital who always went the extra mile on her behalf. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu flowers, donations may be made in Lee's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital branch.
