JOSEPH RZESZUTEK

JOSEPH RZESZUTEK On September 15, 2004 after a brief illness, Joseph Rzeszutek passed away peacefully surrounded by his children, at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 81. He leaves to mourn his three children: daughter Helen Rzeszutek (Brent Wallberg) of Winnipeg, her sons, Michael and Matthew Cunningham; daughter Sophie Hendry (Wes) of Calgary and sons, Sean Gellatly, Christopher Hendry and daughter Angela Hendry; and son Ed Rzeszutek (Linda) of Winnipeg and their children, Paul Rezutek (Lisa), Andrew, Jennifer and Katherine Rzeszutek. He was predeceased by his wife Stella in 1990 and a brother Stanley one month ago, also from Poland. In 1959 they returned to Winnipeg where Joseph worked for the University of Manitoba in the Department of Oral Biology as an animal attendant until his retirement in 1988. Family, faith and home were the cornerstones of Grandpa Joe's life. We owe him a debt of gratitude for his enormous generosity and help. Dad could fix almost anything and enjoyed keeping his home in good condition. He loved growing wonderful apple trees, vegetables and gardening, in general. He taught us by example, to appreciate nature's constant renewal of life. We thank God for giving us such a wonderful Dad. His last days were a profoundly moving experience and a final gift to us. Our family is grateful to Father Antoni, Father McCloskey and Father Dado for their spiritual help during Grandpa's illness. A very special thanks to Dad's family doctor, Dr. Szajkowski, and a special thanks to Dr. Patel and Dr. Zaki for treating our Dad and helping us to understand what he was battling. We are thankful for the new friends we have made at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Thank-you Olive, for your inspiration, your kindness and your love. We won't forget you. Words can't express the wonderful care, compassion and support our Dad and family received from the staff on the fifth floor in U1 and U2. We now know that angels do exist. Thank-you, Uncle Walter and loving cousins. Wally, you are a pillar of strength. She leaves to mourn her passing, brother Malcolm (Mary Jane), sister Heather, her four children, Tom, Gerry, Claudia and Kerri, six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bonnie was predeceased by her father James, mother Claudia, brother-in-law Gerry. Bonnie was born icon in 1951, the youngest of three children and grew up in Elmwood where she attended school. On leaving school she married and began her career as Mom to her four children. During that time Bonnie worked at Continental Can and Jones Pac. At her time of passing she was employed at W.R.H.A. as a home worker. She enjoyed helping her clients and made friends with both her "people" as well as coworkers. In her last years Bonnie lived in the North End with her sister Heather and youngest daughter Kerri. October would have seen her sharing her birthday with her youngest grandbaby Tia. Bonnie made friends easily, enjoyed life, loved and was loved by a wide circle of people with whom she shared her life. We will miss her sense of humour, our little midnight talks, the way she made Halloween a holiday. We all knew how much she loved us, and hope she knew we loved and cared for her. We will continue to love and cherish the memory of her in our hearts always. Memorial service will be at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main St. Winnipeg, Saturday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m.

Loving grandma of Trevor, Kyra, and Lachlan. She is also remembered by her sisters, Joyce (George) Van Wynsberghe of Pinawa and Sheila Nikiforuk of Edmonton and their families. Sandra was born icon on October 29, 1935, in Winnipeg to Thomas and Isabel Summerell. She went to various schools across Canada and graduated from St. John's High School. Sandra began a career as an X-ray Technician at the Winnipeg Municipal Hospital until she stayed home to raise her family. Once her children began school she became a Teacher's Assistant with Morse Place Jr. High School until her retirement. On September 12, 1960, she and Don married and began their wonderful life together. Her boys were the joy of her life. She was their biggest fan and supported them in their sporting activities, education and careers. With open and loving arms she welcomed her daughter-in-laws to the Allerton family and enjoyed her "girl talks." Mom's face lit up whenever she saw her grandchildren and never did she leave them without tons of hugs and kisses and little treats. There were many stitches of love in the blankets and sweaters she created for her little ones. Mom was also overjoyed to hear the news that she would be a grandma again in the spring. We know she'll be watching over all her grandchildren from above and keeping them safe. For over 40 years Sandra treasured spending time with her family at their West Hawk Lake cottage. She and Don made many wonderful lifelong friends from the lake. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting, baking and playing cards. Sandra and Don loved to travel and it was one of their favourite activities together. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Palliative Care unit of St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care of Mom and their support for us as a family.
