GEORGE CHARLES WAUTIER On July 8, 2004, George Charles Wautier lost his battle with cancer and heart disease, at the age of 76 years. George was born icon on a farm near Esterhazy, SK. It was here that his hard working ethics began. George served 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an avionics technician. A large part of his career was spent overseas. George also worked 25 years as a project coordinator for the Winnipeg Home Improvement Projects. His parents, Andrew and Theresa, and brother Andrew predeceased him. He is survived by wife Frances Grace Godwin; two sons, Lee Douglas Wautier, his wife Janice and children, Veronica and Andrew; Kerry George Wautier, his wife Lynn and children, Alyssa and Emma. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in Carnouste, SK. CHRISTINE ANDREA BRUYNSON-DOUMA 1966 - 2004 I, Charles Andrew Bruynson, in deep regret, at the loss of my daughter, Christine Andrea Bruynson-Douma, invite all her friends and relatives to Christine's funeral. Funeral service to be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. on Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Shields presiding. Service to terminate at the chapel. Her resting place will be at Brookside Cemetery - Field of Honor, at a later date. Christine will be deeply missed and her memory cherished by her father Chuck and her daughter Chantel. BEN BRYKALO

BEN BRYKALO May 13, 1910 - July 14, 2004 It is with great sadness that our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Ben Brykalo, at the age of 93, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Ben is survived by his wife of 62 years Kathleen; son Peter (Heather); grandchildren, Angela Cook (Dalmer), Robert (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Richard, Christopher and Felicia Cook and Thomas and Michael Brykalo. He was predeceased by his father Prokeep Brykalo in Ukraine during the First World War; his mother Mary Hoshua; step-father Dan; step-brother John; half brothers Nick and Peter, all of Kenora, ON. Ben was born icon in Nactacow, Ternopil in Western Ukraine. He immigrated to Canada in 1930 settling in Kenora. During the Depression, when jobs were scarce, he rode the rails across the Prairies to various farms where he worked as a farm hand and in the gold mines in Ontario. He came to Winnipeg where he gained employment with a dairy company and in November 1941 he married Kathleen Kozak. In 1945, he was employed by the T. Eaton Company as a night watchman. He was a devoted employee for thirty years, retiring in 1975. Ben loved his cockatiel, Cleo, enjoyed his garden and his summer home in Great Falls. He was happy visiting with his family and friends and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Ben was greatly loved and will be missed by all. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend, always patient, kind and understanding. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for all their extraordinary care. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 19 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with Fr. D. Kawiuk officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. ERNEST (ERNIE) ALBERT DELF March 9, 1928 - July 13, 2004 Peacefully on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, Ernest Delf passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Ernie was predeceased by his father Albert and his mother Azile, sister Marjorie Henry and nephew Lawrence Henry. He will be lovingly remembered by his former wife and best friend Val Delf (Davies). Also by his children, David (special friend Eva), Philip (special friend Beatrice), Scott (Emilie), and Bradley; and grandchildren, Ashley, Shawn, Clinton and Jason. He will also be missed by brothers, Ken (Rosemary), Gordon (Margaret) and sister Muriel (Gordon) Seddon and aunt Muriel Sutton. Ernie was born icon in Winnipeg, MB. He was raised on a farm in the Indianford District northwest of Rathwell, MB. The family moved to Winnipeg in October 1944. Ernie graduated from Gordon Bell High School in 1947. After six years with CN Rail, he went to work for the Chicago and Northwestern Transportation. He was their District Sales Manager from January 1953 until they closed their office in August 1985. Ernie enjoyed curling, golf and playing cards. He was a member of the Elmhurst Golf and Country Club for 21 years. He was Past President and Life Member of the Fort Garry C.C., Past President and Life Member of the Past Presidents Association of Manitoba Curling Clubs, H.L.M. of the Manitoba Curling Association, Past President and Life Member of the Winnipeg Transportation Club, and Past President and Life Member of Imperial Legion Branch 84. Memorial service will be held at Meadowood Manor at 577 St. Anne's Rd. in the chapel area on Saturday, July 17 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Edward Hamm officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank all nurses, doctors and staff who cared for our Dad at the St. Boniface Hospital during his lengthy illness. GEORGE GADSBY

GEORGE GADSBY George Gadsby, beloved father of Michele and Christopher, passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre, at the age of 79 years. George was born icon in Derbyshire, England on September 11, 1924, where he spent his childhood in a farming community. He served in the British Army during the Second World War, married Margaret (nee Sidaway) in 1946 and together they immigrated to Winnipeg, MB in 1957. In 1988, George moved to Duncan, BC where he spent many happy years as an active member of the British Canadian Club. He moved to Calgary in December, 2001 to be closer to his family. George will be dearly missed by his daughter Michele, son Christopher, daughter-in-law Michelle and grandchildren, Matthew and Evan. He is survived by his sisters, Hilda Howl and Phyllis Price, both residing in England. George was predeceased by his wife Margaret, in 1988 and his brother Bernard, in 2003. George was a well respected businessman, who worked as a senior member of the management team at Pritchard Engineering in Winnipeg for over 20 years. He was an avid gardener who could work miracles in even the most challenging climates. George also enjoyed working around the house, doing small repairs, as well as spending time with family and friends. The family would like to express thanks and appreciation to the kind and thoughtful staff of the Foothills Hospital and the Bethany Care Centre. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Parkdale United Church, 2919 - 8 Ave. N.W. ELIZABETH GAL

ELIZABETH GAL (nee SCHWING) Peacefully in the arms of her three daughters and family surrounding her, our mother passed into the waiting arms of Our Lord Jesus on July 13, 2004. Mom was born icon in Tolna-Mozs, Hungary on January 29, 1928. Due to circumstances of the Second World War, as a young woman she moved with her family to Germany. There she met and married her first husband Adolf Baumgart. In 1953 along with their infant daughter Kornelia, they immigrated to Canada to join family and became members of St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian R.C. Church. In 1958, they joyously welcomed another daughter Ingrid. Sadly, in 1962 Adolf passed away. In 1964, she married Imre Gal and they welcomed a daughter Cathy. Mom was predeceased by her first husband Adolf Baumgart; second husband Imre Gal; parents, Michael and Elizabeth Schwing. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kornelia (Rod) Lake, Ingrid Kerger and Cathy Grahlman; brother Frank (Frieda) Schwing; sister Katharina (Anthony) Bencsics. She also leaves to mourn her precious grandsons, Michael, Robert Lake, Marcus, Richard Kerger and Joshua Grahlman. Elizabeth is survived by her two nieces, Christel and Carrie; their families and numerous other relatives and friends in Europe. Also going to miss mom are her beloved cats Sunny and BoBo. Mom's greatest joy was always her children, grandchildren and family. Mom gave unselfishly of everything she had but the greatest gift of all was the love she shared. Mom was an avid sewer and took great joy in sewing everything from dresses, Halloween costumes to Barbie clothes. Mom was employed for many years in the garment industry and retired from Nygard International. Her other passion was gardening. She was very proud of the many lilies and roses she grew. Mom was always cooking, baking and helping her family in any way she could. She touched the lives of many including her wonderful neighbours. The loss of our mother is immeasurable. The daughters and family wish to express heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of N3W Concordia Hospital, especially Donna, Chris, Colleen and Grant. Many thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and her Oncology team, Carol, Val, Martie, Elaine and Cathy. Thanks to Dr. Duerksen for his care of our mom during her stay and homecare nurse Janelle. Prayers and Rosary will be held on Saturday, July 17, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Roman Catholic Church, 365 Burnell St. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Stan Gacek officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mom will be lovingly carried by Michael and Robert Lake, Marcus and Richard Kerger, Rod Lake, Tim Parkill and honorary pallbearer Joshua Grahlman. NORMAN HUDSON 1927 - 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brave and strong husband, father and grandfather on July 14, 2004. Norman passed peacefully where he wanted to be; at home with his family by his side. He will be sadly missed by Valerie, his wife and life-long friend of 59 years; as well, his children, Alan (Liz), Gina, Linda (Bill), Amanda (Tom) and grandchildren, Laura, Amie, Darren, Stephanie and Sarah; sisters, Anne and Olga. Norman was predeceased by his son Roly; grandson Jeremy and sister Kay. Norman enjoyed 25 years in his work as a superintendent in construction. Norm and Val travelled often to B.C to visit family where Norm loved to fish with Jim. One of his greatest and simplest pleasures, in his retirement, was his home and yard enjoying family and the company of neighbours. JOHANNES (JOHN) LAMBERTUS JANSSEN On July 14, 2004 at the age of 82, Pop passed away peacefully to join his mother, father, two brothers, and one sister. He leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years Wilhelmina. He is also survived by three sons, and two daughters, Hans (Joy), Elizabeth (Doug) Sneesby, Mike (Tammy), Marian (Jim) Feakes, and Kelly; his grandchildren, Bryan (Shannon), Erin, Lisa, Craig, Michael, Kristin, Chandra, Christopher (Sherri), Tyler, and Nicole. He was also a special Opa to Kaniel, Austin, Talor, Henry, Leona, and Abby; his great-grandchildren, Dezaray and Daytona. Pop brought his family from Holland in 1957 and worked at Stovels/LGM Graphics for many years until his retirement. He was a wonderful husband, father and Opa. The pallbearers will be his grandsons Bryan, Craig, Christopher, Michael, Tyler, and neighbour Glen Kowbel. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their concern and support. A special thank you to the staff in ICU for their wonderful care. ELSIE LEDUCHOWSKI April 15, 1903 - July 14, 2004 Peacefully on July 14, 2004, Elsie Leduchowski, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 101. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Zuk and Helen Myronuk; her twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Mike; her brothers, Mike, Nick and John Chomica; her sisters, Anne Czar, Felicia Blahey and Doris Czechowski; her sons, Nick, Sid, and Tom; her daughter Nellie Drozda; and her granddaughters, Sally Drozda and Beverley Skochelas. Born in Austria, Elsie grew up in Chatfield, MB and later settled with her husband to farm in Poplarfield, MB for almost thirty years. She spent her retirement years in Winnipeg, and her family was with her as she celebrated her 100th birthday last year. The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for their years of kindness and love. Viewing will take place on Saturday, July 17, 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., with Redemptorist Father officiating.
