One of the things that shaped Wayne's life, right until the end, was the love he shared with and for his family. Mourning his death, but celebrating his release to eternal life are his loving wife of 44 years Georgie, his daughters Linda Kasdorf (Stuart), Kathy Kyle (Russell Bayliss), Janet Kyle and Margie Sollid (Gary). As he was able Wayne delighted in his grandchildren, who are, Brock, Bobbi-Lynn and Matthew Kasdorf, Gina and Jillian Bayliss and Seth Sollid. Wayne was born to Alvin and Oriole Kyle on July 21st, 1937, and lived his early years on a farm just outside of Regina. He was the third of five children. Remembering him with respect and deep fondness are his sister Mavis (Peter Evans), brother Larry (Elva) and family, sisters in law Danna Armstrong(Robert) and Ellen Phelps(David), Lori and Cal Garvie and family, Carol and Ted Cronkite and family and many, many friends. Wayne was predeceased by his son Robert, his parents Alvin and Oriole, his brothers Dean and Bruce, and Georgie's parents Thelma and Louis Tubb. Wayne's personal life was deeply nourished by the space for friendship, family and nature that he found at the family cottage at Delaronde Lake. The cottage will always be a place where Dad is present to us in a special way. Many in the community came to know Wayne through his role as an educator in the classroom and in administrative roles. He excelled because of his exceptional people skills, his warmth, compassion and instinct for the work of education. Others came to know Wayne through his work in and for the community and the province. He served with passion on the boards of Knox United Church, the Mendel Art Gallery, the Centennial Auditorium, The Saskatchewan Arts Board, the YMCA, League of Educational Administrators, Directors and Superintendents and the Canadian Association of School Administrators. Wayne's skill and enthusiasm for music also brought many friends into his life. He will be remembered for his warm presence emceeing the annual Saskatoon Carol Festival, his portrayal of Showboat's "Joe ", many other roles with Saskatoon Summer Players, and his beautiful bass solos in many worship and funeral services. Wayne walked a journey marked by the frailties of being human, but was sustained, renewed and inspired by the faith he held in Jesus Christ. We will always honor and remember him for the strong and loving presence he had in our lives and our hearts. Our family wishes to sincerely thank the many caregivers at Sherbrooke Community Centre who so compassionately reached out to and cared for Dad.
