ALVIN H. RICHARDS (CD) - It is with sadness, but great memories, we announce the passing of Al Richards at the Grace Hospital on October 2, 2005. Al was born near Clair, SK in 1919. After schooling, he worked on a farm and moved to Regina. He joined the armed forces in 1940 and after basic training, moved to Brandon, MB for advanced training as a gunner in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. Al served in Canada and overseas, returning home because of ill health. After six months of recovery, he moved to Moose Jaw where he enrolled in trade school and graduated as a machinist. He began his career in a machine shop in Regina and then joined the plumbing department at Marshall Wells Company. In 1970, he was transferred to Winnipeg and retired in 1984 after 40 years with the company. For 25 years, Al was involved in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (M). He enjoyed gardening, curling, lawn bowling and following the Roughriders. After retiring, Al and May enjoyed traveling across Canada, the British Isles and United States. Al was predeceased by his wife, May, in 1997, after 47 years of marriage and his sister, Nellie (Yorkton, SK) in 2001. To mourn his passing, Al leaves his daughter, Mary (Grant) Blakely of Fox Creek, AB; son, David (Nancy) Richards of Winnipeg, and grandchildren, Matthew, Katherine, Carly, Scott and Garrett; his brother Joe (St. Catherine's, ON); and sister, Doris (St. John's, BC). The family wishes to extend many thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg for the care Al received during his many stays in hospital the last few years. In accordance with Al's wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal service. Flowers are gratefully declined. FAUBERT - In loving memory of Kathleen Maureen Faubert Born August 10, 1945 in the Engels Nursing Home, Lumsden, SK. After a lengthy illness the angels took Kathy to her eternal rest. Kathleen is the daughter of Elizabeth Ward of Regina, SK and Kenneth Ward of Yorkton, SK. Kathy was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Anthony and MaryEllen Chernick; her paternal grandparents Harry and Helen Ward; maternal aunt Mildred and uncle Bud Ward and Clementine and Roland her youngest son's paternal grandparents. Kathy will be sadly missed by her husband Brian Faubert; her brothers and sisters-in-law; parents Elizabeth and Ken Ward; the pride and joy of her life, her sons: Sean Ledingham and wife Claire, Tony Ledingham and Matt Faubert; grandchildren: Brodie, Adam, baby Ashton; siblings: half-sister Robin, step-sister Laurie, foster sister Rosa (Gary) Bridge; her aunts Gertrude and Nora; uncle Paul (Beverly) Chernick; multiple cousins from Regina to Scotland, and her many friends from Vancouver to Nova Scotia: Maxine Segal "Aunty Max", Norma Cyr, "Aunty Carmelle and Uncle Kurt", Dawn Ashbe, Marianna Brown and Candace and Jim Atkins, Warren and Heather Cook, and her special and supportive friend Milo Fonkelsrud. Kathy was employed by the Dept. of Social Services and earned her 25-year pin in the past year. She received much joy in helping the people she strove to aid. Kathy was a very caring, sensitive, gentle and loving spirit who exuded unconditional love toward her family and friends for whom she always had time. She possessed a great love for music and the arts. Family was of central importance to her life. Her loving spirit will live on in her children. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Regina General Hospital for the exceptional care provided to Kathleen. JAMES CLARENCE HAGAN Jim December 2, 1954 November 10, 2005 Suddenly, on Thursday, November 10, 2005 while loading firewood, Mr. James Hagan, of Thompson. Jim leaves to mourn his beloved sweetheart Vera of Thompson, son Trevor and Mable of Winnipeg, mother Ellen of Mississauga, Trevor's mother Elizabeth Hagan of Winnipeg, aunt Margaret Smith of Unity, uncle Doug Martyniuk of Mississauga, cousins Ed Smith of Cochin, Randy Smith (Cathy) of Prince Albert, Carol Lumsdon of Saskatoon, Cindy Campbell (Gerry) of Calgary, Deanna Falkner (Bruce) of Calgary and Susan Rucobo (Vincent) of Patterson, California. In addition Jim will be greatly missed by Vera's family members Jamie (Marcella), Shane, Kristtin and Eian; Kelly (Brad), Kristian and Kailan of Thompson, Vincent (Tammy) and Chasity of St. Johns, Nf, her brothers and sisters in Ontario and Newfoundland, plus a host of friends in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He was predeceased by grandparents Clarence and Olla Hagan, brother Donald in 1975 and father Allan in 2002. Jim attended Herchmer and Argyle public schools in Regina. He graduated from Luther College and the University of Manitoba. He worked with Nelson House First Nation for several years and was currently employed by North Central Development in Thompson. Despite being away from Saskatchewan he remained an avid and loyal fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Friends may call at the Boardman Funeral Home, 28 Nelson Road on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 between 6:00 and 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the St. Lawrence R.C. Church, 114 Cree Road with Rev. Leslie King officiating. Services will conclude at the church with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Active pallbearers are Trevor Hagan, Ed Smith, Jamie Burt, Vincent Burt, Rex Smith, Dag Vystricil and Ernie Pieroni. It isn't what the eye can see but the warm and caring person deep down inside. It is the joy he brings to others, his gentle strength, his laughter, honesty and kindness. It is the thoughtful way he lives and the love that's in his heart that makes a man special. NAKAMURA, AIKO (KIKUCHI) - passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2005 in Regina. Born on October 25, 1917 in Itoshimagun, Japan. She is predeceased by her parents, beloved husband Sadato, brothers, Takeo and Hirosuke, and sister Komine. Aiko is survived by sons Sam (May), George (Alice), Thomas (Cathy), Elmer; daughters Mariko (Franklin), Harumi (Paul), Lillian (Carl) and grandchildren Ember, Dustin, Kiyoshi, Damien, Jaye, David, Jessica; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Japan. Her care for others was the focus of her life as a nurse, mother, and homemaker. She was married in 1936, came to Canada in 1940, moved to Regina in 1942 and created a welcoming home to many visitors and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 16 from 7:30 p.m. 9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Thursday, November 17 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. Kanto Tsukamoto of the Toronto Nichiren Buddhist Temple. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Reception at Wascana Family and Community Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street. SANGWAIS, IONA - with family at her side Iona peacefully began her journey home to the Creator on Nov. 12, 2005. Iona leaves behind her children Jefferey (Lesley) Sangwais, Marlon (Chelsea) Sangwais, Kirby Sangwais, Delilah (Albert) Hleboff, Alicia, Alanna and Emile Dubois Jr. their father Emile Dubois Sr.; her mother Alice Sangwais; stepfather Larry Morris; sisters Eunice (Ed) Martin, Delia Gagnon, Ernesta Still, Bonnie Goodwin; brothers Ian (Heather) Sangwais, Darren (Leona) Sangwais, Lorne (Heidi) Sangwais and Marlon Sangwais; grandchildren Damon, Xavier, Keagan, Marcus and Serena; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Iona was predeceased by her father Ernest Sangwais; a brother Lorne; sisters Debbie Desjarlais and Nadine Cappo; a niece Lanette Sangwais; aunts Shirley Shavetail and Elizabeth Nemethi; grandparents of Sakimay First Nation. The Traditional Wake will be held in the Sakimay Complex on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 4:00 p.m. with services at 7:00 p.m. A Traditional Feast will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, Nov. 16 with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Sakimay Complex. Interment in the Sakimay Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Regina General Hospital.

SKINNER - On Sunday, November 13, 2005, Sally Margaret Skinner (Burnett) of Regina passed away peacefully after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 39 years, Reg; son Deacan (Kim) Skinner, children Lance and Morgan; daughter Hayley (Mike) Maurer, children Kamryn, Ryan and Kyra; parents Jack and Kathleen Burnett; sister Janet (Rick) Sanden; brothers Cam (Brenda) Burnett, Andy (Harle) Burnett and numerous nieces and nephews. Sally was born on her grandmother Pickering's farm south of Leslie, Saskatchewan in 1943. She attended school in Foam Lake and went to Teacher's College in Regina. Sally was a gentle, kind, loving, wife, mother, "Nana " and teacher. She was a primary school teacher and for 18 years a successful owner and operator of Keen Kids and Gingerbread Nursery schools. "Mrs. Skinner " gave her heart and soul to all the special wee ones she taught. She will be remembered and missed by hundreds of children and their families. Sally most enjoyed sharing good times with family and friends particularly at the family cottage on Katepwa Lake. She took great pride in decorating her home and tending to her garden and flowers. Sally possessed many artistic talents which she passed on to her numerous students. In addition she enjoyed doing crafts and made countless presents for her friends and loved ones. Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17th, 2005 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen Street, Regina, SK with Pastor Craig Moeller, officiating. Former nursery school students are invited to make a butterfly to present during the service as a tribute to "Mrs. Skinner ". The butterflies can be brought to the service or dropped off at St. Mark's prior to. We would like to express special thanks to all of the compassionate nurses that were so kind to Sally during her final days and to Dr. Morris for his dedication and warmth. JOHNSON - Irene Mae, beloved wife of Gordon Johnson of Whitewood, SK passed away January 3, 2006 at the age of 65 years. Besides her husband, Irene is survived by her daughter, Laurie of Whitewood, her son, Robert of New Zealand and a brother, Wesley (Olga) Stevenson of Saskatoon and their family. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Whitewood United Church. Interment will follow in the Whitewood Cemetery.
