GODON - HELEN GODON passed away Nov 26, 2003 at the Wawota Deer View Lodge at the age of 91. Helen was born at St. Daniels North Dakota, U.S.A. on Jan 3, 1912. She moved with her family to Manitoba as a young child. Her mother died when she was a child. Helen & her older sister Gladys were raised by their father. She met Joe Godon when she was only 15, this union produced 10 Children. Helen & Joe moved to the Wawota area when they farmed. They retired and moved to Wawota in 1962. Helen is predeceased by her husband Joe and two children; son Wesley; a daughter Aleta and husband Art Brehaut; a son in-law Craig Elgar. Helen is survived by daughter Helen Elgar; son Stanley (Elizabeth) Godon; son Norman (Mary) Godon; daughter Georgina (Henry) Renner; son George (Margaret) Godon; daughter Diana Godon; son Dean (Eileen) Godon; son Delbert Godon; 20 grand children and numerous great-grandchildren. Memoriams may be made to Deer View Lodge in Wawota or the Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Helen's memory.

HOUBEN - Mr. Franz Houben of Calgary, passed away on December 8, 2003 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his children Selena and Roland Houben and Tia Maria (Darin) Melnechenko, all of Calgary. He is also remembered by his former wife Heidi also of Calgary, three sisters Mia Frantzen, Hilda Reindl and Klarchen Thissen and a brother Addie Houben, all of Germany. He was predeceased by two brothers, Heinz and Alex Houben and three sisters Anna Wiskeidatis, Bertha Kannen and Franziska Houben, all of Germany. Franz was an easy going man who loved to laugh and smile in every circumstance. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. At Franz's request there will be no service. BENKENDORF - (nee Ozembloski) Olga passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2003 at the Pasqua Hospital after a short battle with cancer at the age of 69 years. Olga was predeceased by her parents Mike and Mary Ozembloski of Ituna; first husband Mike Mallick; second husband Irvin; brother Leonard and one nephew Larry Ozembloski. She will be remembered by her daughter Beryl Mallick of Regina; four sisters Nellie, Helen and Pauline. all of Ituna and Lee of Regina; five brothers Russell, Orest and Bill, all of Ituna, Barney and Adolf, both of Regina as well as many relatives and friends. Olga was employed as a Certified Nurses Aid for the past 20 years at Pioneer Village, retiring at the age of 65 years. Since then Olga enjoyed visiting with friends and family and taking the occasional trip. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 10:00 AM from Canadian Martyrs R. C. Church, 1932 1st Avenue N., Regina, SK with Rev. Patrick McCoy, celebrant. Beryl and family wish to thank the staff at Palliative Care for the loving care shown to Olga and family. CHIASSON - Patrick Robert Chiasson, late of Regina, SK., passed away peacefully Sunday, December 7, 2003, at the age of 63 years. Pat was predeceased by his wife Cecilia (Sentes), his father and two sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his four sons, seven grandchildren, mother, sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews. and many friends. SIMPKINS - Laurine ""Randi"" Jean, aged 68 years of Moose Jaw went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, February 14, 2004. Her zest for life and capacity for unconditional love that touched the lives of so many will be greatly missed by all who knew her but her presence will always be felt. Laurine is predeceased by her father, George Langdon, numerous aunts and uncles. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Ken ""Gabby""; daughter, Kelly, of Moose Jaw, sons, Scott (Sherry) of Regina, Mike (Carla) of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Justin, Michael, Taya, Jesslyn, Joshua, Lainie, Jayden, Jenalyn; mother, Sally Langdon, siblings Bob (Marlene) Langdon, Marg (Warren) Bertsch; numerous friends and extended family. Laurine graduated from nursing in 1956 and married Ken later that year. She continued her nursing, taking time off to raise her family. She enjoyed working at Woolco as department supervisor for a number of years and then returning to nursing as well as private duty care with the terminally ill. She will be remembered for her professional cake decorating, specializing in wedding cakes. She enjoyed spending time with children and the elderly, playing the organ and piano, arts and crafts, scrapbooking, travel and photography. A Celebration of Laurine's life will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. in Parkview Funeral Chapel with Pastor George Ayers officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Salvation Army William Booth Special Care Home, 50 Angus Road, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4R 8P6. ST. DENIS - On Friday, February 13, 2004, Firmen St. Denis, late of Echo Lodge, Ft. Qu'Appelle, Sask., passed away at the age of 86 years. Firmen came from a family of thirteen and is survived by three sisters: Roseanne Janes, Mary Bagwell-Moyer, and J. Evelyn St. Denis, one sister-in-law; Rosa Dennis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
