PENNER PAUL HENRY 1930 2006 - Paul Henry Penner, beloved husband of Mrs. Sylvianne (Forsythe), of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home in Calgary, AB, on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the age of 76 years. Paul retired in 1992 to Calgary. Besides his loving wife Sylvianne, Paul is survived by four children and their spouses, Robert and Rose, Peter and Val, Richard, and Beth and Derrick Stokes; four grandchildren Robert Jr., Reese, Desirae and Brittanie; two brothers and a sister-in-law, John and Jean, Ernie, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth and George Jensen, and Helen Penner, and many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Betty. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth (nee Jenzen) and John J. Penner of Portage la Prairie, MB; brothers, Peter and Alfred. ZARAN - Babs, late of Regina, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Sophie and sister-in-law Doreen. Babs' memory will be forever cherished by her family; brother John; sister Rose (Michael) O'Keefe; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Babs worked for over 50 years with Sears Canada. She was an avid Saskatchewan Roughriders fan who rarely missed a game in 50+ years of support. Babs was a private lady and in keeping with her wishes a family service has been held. Those wishing may make donations in Babs' memory to the Dallas Valley Ranch Camp, Box 779, Lumsden, SK S0G 3C0.

HNATIUK, MARGUERITE

HNATIUK - Marguerite died peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer on December 21, 2006. Her first husband, Audun Jetmundson, her second husband Peter Hnatiuk, her son Graeme Jetmundson, and her son-in-law Bill Yanosik, predeceased her. Her daughter Darienne Yanosik (Harry Brown), sister-in-law Nettie Huskins, granddaughters Melanie Lindsey (Jim Ward), Christy Yanosik (Darren Sargeant), grandson, Christopher Jetmundson, special nephew Dennis Ward, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren, survives Marguerite. She will also be fondly remembered by her close friends Richard Symonds from White Rock, BC, and Anna Henkel from Regina, SK, and her cat Missy. At Marguerite's request, there will be no funeral. With the passing of Marguerite, we have been asked to consider donating to the local palliative care unit that helped ease her last few weeks instead of sending flowers. Please include a letter advising that the donation be in memory of Marguerite Hnatiuk. Marguerite was born in Winnipeg, MB on Jan. 31, 1920.

MACBEAN, FRANKLIN

MACBEAN - Franklin Scott M.Ed. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott MacBean of Carnduff, SK. on Christmas Day. After a hard fought battle with heart disease, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Oxbow's Galloway Health Centre, at the age of 54 years. Scott leaves his loving and devoted wife Sylvia, four children: Heather (Cory Leitner); Pamela (Clinton Bailie); Scott, Douglas, and granddaughter Keira Leitner; his parents Wayne "Bun" and Shirley MacBean; three sisters: Duna (Dale) Bayley, Judi (John) Argan, and Sherri (Tim) Gross; great aunt Jean (Goldie) Churchman; aunts and uncles: Dr. Lloyd and Duna Barber, Frank and Colleen MacBean, Kay Steeves, Walter and Jean Sirey, and Olga Abrahamson. His in-laws Eric and Irene Hunter, Glenn Hunter, Murray (Tania) Hunter, Jim (Charlotte) Hunter, Marjorie (Monte) Heatcoat, and Brenda (Bob) Zdunich. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, his former students, colleagues and friends. Scott was born and educated in Saskatoon. He obtained his B.A (History) 73; B.Ed, 76; at the University of Saskatchewan and Masters in Education Psychology at the University of Regina in 2002. Scott began his teaching career at Goodwater High School (1976-78), Holdfast High (1978-80), Carievale (1980-88), and Carnduff until 1998. He was subsequently employed as Special Education Coordinator for Souris-Moose Mountain School Division until 2005 and South East Cornerstone School Division in 2006. Scott was one of the founders of the South East Early Childhood Intervention Program (SE-ECIP). He was very dedicated to his teachers and students. In May of 2004, Scott suffered a heart attack and stroke and after 22 days in a coma he awoke blind and paralyzed. Although the odds were against him, empowered by his well-known stubbornness and determination, he learned to walk again. With the assistance of Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), he mastered the computer programs specially designed for the blind. He was able to return to work part-time and was striving to achieve his full licensure with the Saskatchewan Association of Psychologists. His last challenge as an educator was helping a young blind boy to receive the necessary computer equipment and software programs required to enhance the boy's quality of life. Scott was a real sports and outdoor enthusiast. He had a passion for golf and was a member of the Carnduff Golf Club. His passion became his hobby as he built golf clubs for himself and others. Throughout the years, Scott was also very involved with his children and their activities. We will miss deeply his strong presence, determination, and unwavering commitment to his family, his students, his colleagues, and his educational achievements. Funeral service will be held at the Carnduff Educational Complex 506 Anderson Avenue, Carnduff on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the CNIB 2550 Broad Street Regina, SK S4P 3Z4 or SE-ECIP at 14 Broadway Street, Redvers, SK SOC 2H0 on his behalf. MACHISKINIC - Mabel (Muskosis) passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the age of 74 years, after a courageous battle with kidney disease. Mabel is predeceased by her husband Frederick Machiskinic; son Harvey; daughter Sylvia. Mabel will be mourned and sorrowfully missed by her ten living children: Cecilia, Anita (Fred) Strongarm, Stella, Joan (Mervin) Cyr, Ivan (Pat), Thomas, Gary, Alvena, Bernadette, and Lester (Jackie); special grandson Eldon; She will also be mourned and missed by twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and special friend and companion Arthur Haynes. A wake will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Kawacatoose Gymnasium. Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Kawacatoose School Gymnasium. MELLE, WILLIAM

MELLE - On Tuesday, December 26, 2006, William Joseph Melle of Estevan, SK, passed away at the age of 95 years. Bill was born on September 25, 1911. He was predeceased by his parents by his parents Joseph and Katherine, siblings, Elizabeth, Anton, Paul and Grandchildren Allan, Owen, Shelley Verbeem and Aaron Murias and numerous in laws. He is survived by his wife Katherine; children, Marie (Joe) Verbeem (Grandson Peter), Gloria (Frank) Murias (Grandchildren, Mark (Kara) Murias and Karen Wathan), Loretta (Darcy) Smith (Grandchildren, Craig (Kendra) Smith, Jason Smith, Bradley (Lesley) Smith, Jennifer (Lyle) Straub), Angie (Marvin) Fichter (Grandchildren, Darren Fichter and Leanne (Shayne) Ouellette), Peter (Karen) Melle (Grandchildren Kristy (Kurtis) Phillips, Kendra Melle (fiancee ~ Bradley Clausen), Brett Melle), along with seven Great Grandchildren. Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. from the chapel of Boire Funeral Home, Estevan. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. from St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Estevan, with Rev. Fr. Lorne D. Crozon the celebrant. Cremation will follow, with interment in the Estevan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends and relatives may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Bill Melle. MOSER-Larry passed away tragically at the age of 28 years on December 26, 2006 in Regina, SK, trying to help someone in need. He was predeceased by his grandparents Aloysius Kehler; Celestina and August Heisler; Lawrence Moser; father-in-law L. Wayne McArthur; grandfather-in-law Manny Toto. Larry is survived by his wife Misty McArthur; daughter Calista McArthur-Moser; parents Laura and Lawrence Moser; brother Daniel Moser (Jill Buchinski); sister Angie (Clay) Sazynski and their son Kaleb; grandma Dorothy Kehler; mother-in-law Joanne Sheepskin; brother-in-law Byron Sheepskin, who remained at his dude's side till his passing; sisters-in-law Ariel Knebush and Danielle Sheepskin and her daughter Tori; grandma-in-law Bonnie Toto; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Larry was always willing to help people and will be remembered for his independent nature - going by his own rules. He loved fast cars, ski-doos, and the outdoors. He was fascinated with how things worked. Larry was a member of the band Distant Distortion and was proud to be part of it; he liked his music pump'n and loud. Larry will always be remembered as a loving father. He had a memorable Christmas with his family and friends and got his wish to have family together again. A PRAYER SERVICE will be held at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 5020 7th Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, December 29, 2006 on 7:00 p.m. A FUNERAL MASS will be at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. interment will follow at Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery. PELLETIER - Mervin Joseph Lloyd, Born ~ July 17, 1944 in Lestock, Saskatchewan passed away December 25, 2006 at the age of 62 years. Predeceased by his grandparents Josephine Pelletier/Lawrence Desjarlais/ Maurice and Gilbert Pelletier, aunt Evelyn Pelletier, uncle Arnold Desjarlais, sisters: Louise, Cecelia, Sherlyne, brother Joseph, three special godchildren, Kenny, Christina and Elvis. Survived by his mother Dorothy (Pelletier) Gunville, Lestock, Saskatchewan, his companion Cora Camepeau, brothers, Raymond and family, Percy (Maxine) and family, and his sisters Dellia (Sid) and family, Donna (Robert) and family, Loretta (Jerry) Nyland and family, and two special boys he raised, Ken (Jody) Keller and Calvin Severight also many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. A Wake will be held at the Lestock Town Hall on Thursday, December 28, 2006 commencing at 5:00 P.M. The Funeral will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the Lestock Cemetery, feast will follow after services. Anna is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim; daughter, Rosemarie (Roger) Anderson of Regina; son, Jim (Janet) Rusnak of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Brad (Amanda), Chad, Renee of Regina, James, Tania of Saskatoon; great-grandchildren, Evan Anderson of Regina, Austin Rusnak of Saskatoon. Anna's life was filled with friendship and caring. Love for her faith, family and dedication to her husband of 60 years. A very special thanks to Dr. Vermeulen for care provided and a very special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit and staff for making mom's final journey comfortable and compassionate. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King R. C. Church, 3239 Garnet Street with Rev. Tony Dizy presiding. Interment will be held at a later date.
