SIEMENS - WILLIAM "BILL" Staff Sgt., Retired, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, late of Fort Qu'Appelle, SK passed away after a brief struggle with leukemia on Thursday, August 26, 2004. He was predeceased by his father, Wilhelm; his mother, Helena; brother, Johny; and brother-in-law, Keith (Sheila) Reinhart. Bill's memory will forever be cherished by his family: loving wife, Muriel of 41 years; son, Douglas of Edmonton, AB; daughter, Rhonda (Shane) Mead of Irma, AB; granddaughters, Jordan and Jayme; brother, Hank; sisters, Esther and Marie; brother-in-law, Gerry (Hazel) Reinhart; and sister-in-law, Norma (Pat) Korpatt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bill was a 26-year veteran of the R.C.MP. serving primarily in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon, and the N.W.T. Following his retirement he was a Sheriff in Humboldt, Wynyard and Regina. Bill was instrumental in organizing the Good Sam club in Saskatchewan, and was the first Provincial Director. He was also the first president of the Queen City Sam's Chapter. A VISITATION for family and friends will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Monday, August 30, 2004 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A SERVICE TO REMEMBER BILL'S LIFE will be held at the R.C.M.P. STEPHENSON - Hannah Stephenson of Davidson, Sask., passed away peacefully at the Davidson & District Health Care Center, with her family at her side on Wednesday, August 25th, 2004. Hannah is survived by her loving children: Robert Stephenson & Grace (Lloyd) Surkan. Also several other family members. STRECKER - Frederick Strecker, born January 15, 1913 in Beschanja Yugoslavia, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by his wife, Erna; parents, Heinrich and Elizabetha (Fleiner); step-mother Eva (Binder); brothers Jake, Henry, George; brothers-in-law, Rudy Bernt and Clifford Ruecker. Fred is survived by two brothers, Phil (Anne), Adam (Marge); sisters, Eva Bernt and Rose Ruecker; sisters-in-law, Lois Strecker and Lena Strecker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Pastor S. Bryan Chappell officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. TRUMBLEY - Robert (John) born October 9, 1917, passed away peacefully in City Hospital on December 1, 2004 at the age of 87. John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gertie; son Bob (Carol) Trumbley; daughter Linda Reynolds and grandchildren Jana (Paul) McGonigal, Rob (Liz) Reynolds, Erin Trumbley and Mark Trumbley. John is also survived by his sisters Myrtle (John) Huber, Ruby (Ollie) Howard, brother Roy (Wilma) Trumbley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Faye, parents Peter and Maggie Trumbley and his brother, Douglas Trumbley. John and Gertie farmed west of Lumsden until he joined the RCAF in 1942. He started an electrical contracting company in Yorkton after the war which he operated until 1955 when he became an electrical inspector working in Moose Jaw and later in Saskatoon. He retired from the Department of Labour in 1979 but returned to the electrical trade until he retired completely at 74. John loved hunting, fishing, watching the horse races, needlepoint, building things and spending time with his family. The world is a better place because he was here. Many thanks go to the nurses and staff of Saskatoon City Hospital for their exemplary care and concern. The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, December 4th at 1:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home followed by a reception at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre (4th Ave. & 25th St.). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (1910 McIntyre St., Regina, SK S4P 2R3). Arrangements have been entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME.
