FREI - Mary Eva The family is saddened to announce the passing of Eva on Wednesday, October 1, 2003. She was born to Rose and Anthony Selinger on December 2, 1916 in Lajord, SK. Predeceased by her husband Albert in December 1993, also by her parents, sisters Florence (Peter) Flichel, Monica (John) Frei; brother Jacob Selinger; half-sister Annie (Don) Laird; half-brother Frank Deschner. Leaving to mourn, son John (Beatrice); daughter Rose (Allan) Hubick; son Edwin (Dianne); grandchildren: Sherry (Paul) Mokry, Blair Frei, Dwight (Jacqueline) Frei, Gregory Hubick, Dodi Weir, Lila (Michael) Schneider, Todd Frei, Cory Frei; greatgrandchildren: Nathan, Michael, Krista, Ashley, Kayla, Colby, Emily and Jessica; also Aunt Regina Resch and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 2026 Winnipeg Street with Rev. Gordon Rushka officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. KORBO - DOROTHY ELIZABETH KORBO (nee MacNevin), of Moose Jaw, passed away September 30, 2003. Born May 2, 1941, Dorothy was predeceased by her father, Harvey, mother, Catherine MacNevin, an infant daughter, Shelley Korbo and husband Victor Lacerte. She is survived by her six children: Ryan (Kelly), Peter (Shannon), Quenton (Ernie), Shannon, Tania (Ed) and Myles; eleven grandchildren, ten stepchildren; brothers: Wayne (Mary), Malcolm and Bruce (Ann-Marie), her sister, Cathy (Clinton) and their families as well as many nieces and nephews. THE FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2003 AT 1:30 P.M. IN THE W.J. JONES & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, MOOSE JAW. Reverend Dave Moore will officiate. Cremation will follow and memorialization will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Unit 3B (cancer ward) of Pasqua Hospital, Regina would be appreciated by her family. LAGUS - Clara Marie (nee Fahlman), died peacefully at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Regina, on Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at the age of 68 years. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Barbara; brothers, Ferdinand, Andrew, and Benedict; sisters, Hedy and Teresa, Clara is survived by her husband John; son Gerard (Melanie) and grandchildren, Kelsey and Colin, all of Regina; son Gregory of Calgary; sisters, Sister Benedicta Fahlman of Toronto and Marie Folk of Regina; brothers, Tony (Katherine) Fahlman and Joe (Eileen) Fahlman of Regina; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many other family and good friends. After retiring from Burns-Hanley Church Supplies, Clara was active in many prayer groups. She enjoyed her garden and Shrine, camping, and fishing with her family. Prayers will be held Friday, October 3, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Cross R.C. Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East, with Rev. Norman Marcotte, Celebrant. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for their care and compassion during Clara's stay there. Flowers most gratefully declined. LE BINH - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Le Binh on Tuesday, September 30, 2003. Binh was born in Vietnam on May 28, 1945. Predeceased by her father Le Lan; her mother Le Tim; two sisters Le Mae, Le Yin. Binh came to Canada from Vietnam as a refugee in 1984. Binh was happy to be able to come to Regina and became a Canadian Citizen on January 29, 1987. She was a dedicated worker and received her fifteen year award from her employer TwinPak. She will be sadly missed by her sister Quan of Regina, brother Tho San (Anne); and two nieces of Hong Kong. Binh went peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. Thanks so much to the nurses who provided care and compassion while Binh was with them. Thank you also to Dr. Salgado and his staff for their patience and understanding in the care of Binh. LUPANKO - Alfred George It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alfred on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 of Regina at the age of 60. Alfred passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Alfred was born September 19, 1943, spending his early life in the Kayville District before moving to Regina as a teenager. His occupation in Regina included approximately 23 years with Stelco and about 12 years with the City of Regina. He also owned and operated S&A Tree Spraying. In his spare time he would collect batteries for recycling and donate the proceeds to cancer research. Alfred married Shirley Haigh of Regina on February 9, 1963. Alfred and his loving wife of 40 years made their home in Regina where they raised their three boys. Alfred loved meeting people and never seemed to go very far before seeing someone he knew. He loved sports and he particularly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sporting events. He enjoyed gardening and working around the yard. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Predeceased by one son Thomas, his parents Daniel and Mabel, a brother Edward, his father and mother-in-law Gordon and Joan Haigh. Alfred will be sadly missed by his loving wife Shirley; his two sons Gordon (Tasha) of Regina, Robert (Jamie) of Regina; his grandchildren Shawn and Taryn, Tyler and Matthew; his sister Donna (Ryan) Pearpoint of Regina; his brothers Douglas (Edith) of Stoughton; and Peter (Arlene) of Milestone; sister-in-law Sylvia (Frank) Furo of Regina; his nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Alfred will be remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. Alfred's family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit and the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic at the Pasqua Hospital for the compassionate care provided throughout Alfred's illness. REUBEN, RONALD DRINKLE - July 31, 1911 December 9, 2003. Reuben passed away peacefully in the DVA unit, Wascana Rehab Centre, Regina on December 10, 2003 Reuben is the last of The Drinkle Family. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Ruby, in May 1997, his parents, brothers Harold, Mervyn, Kenneth, his sisters Dorothy Power, Winnie Elder, Roberta Cowie, and Marion Osborn. He is survived by his daughter Wendy Daniels and husband Michael in Calgary, grandsons Todd Hunter, Calgary, Trent Hunter and great grandchildren Amanda & Brandon, Trenton, Ontario, his son Harvey and wife Linda, and grandchildren Andrew (Tricia Duran), Karen Drinkle and great grandchildren Tanica and Ashley, all of Regina. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Bernice Drinkle, Malakwa, B.C. and numerous neices and nephews. Dad was employed with Bowman Brothers Ltd. for 28 years and Saskatoon Board of Education, Purchasing Department for 12 years before retiring. Our parents spent 17 great winters as snow birds in Arizona. They enjoyed their membership in McClure, Bethel and Mayfair United churches, Eastern Star and the Wandering Wheels Trailer Club. There will be no funeral service. Cremation. The family will have a private service. Donations can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation in Reuben's memory if desired. RICHARDSON - On Tuesday, December 9, 2003, Marie Cecile Richardson (nee Aisaican), late of Regina, passed away at the age of 67 years. Predeceased by her devoted husband Stewart Samuel; parents Riel and Adeline; brothers Henry, Elmer, Paul; sisters Maryanne, Carol, Mary Jane and Marcella. Cecile is survived by her daughter Jamie Lynn, favorite son-in-law Tim; treasured granddaughters Katherine Jean, Keria Mahria; cherished grandson Sampson Riel; well beloved sister Lori (Bob) of Calgary; brothers: Bill (Shirley) of Lethbridge, Ambrose Monty of Regina, Gary (Glenda) of Regina, Ron; as well as adored nieces, nephews and many cousins. A Wake will be held on Friday, December 12, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place, 4001 3rd Ave. N., Regina. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Interment in Cowessess First Nation Cemetery.
