KINSMAN - Annabell Delphie Kinsman passed away at Estevan, SK on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Survived by her husband, Donald, Estevan; sister, Violet Shaw Comox, B.C.; Niece, Anna (Gerry) Turcotte, Comox, B.C.; numerous cousins, wonderful friends and inlaw relatives. Predeceased by her parents, Christian and Matilda Hansen; brother in infancy; brother-in-law, Bernard Shaw. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2004 from Lampman United Church, with Nancy Olson officiating. Interment to be held at Kisbey Cemetery

MASTEL, CAROLINE LENA (NEE FINK) - Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2004 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her husband, Bernard; her parents, Sebastian and Gertrude Fink; three brothers, Frank, Henry and Chris Fink; and one sister, Anna (Frank) Staudt. Left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Rita Mastel; sister, Loretta (Nick) Kraft; sisters-in-law, Anne Fink, Louise Fink and Margaret Ulrich, sisters-in-law Anne Mastel, Elizabeth Mastel and Regina Resch; brothers-inlaw, Martin (Irene) Mastel, Tony Deck and numerous nieces and nephews. VISITATION for family and friends will be held Tonight, Tuesday, February 17, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Regina Funeral Home, Highway #1 East. A FUNERAL MASS will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church 2636 7th Ave. East with Rev. John Weckend, Celebrant. HINGSTON - Ella (nee Livingston) died April 9, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. She died as she lived with a sense of humour and family and friends by her side. She has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour whom she loved and served faithfully all her life. Ella leaves behind her husband, Allen; four children, Bronwyn, Graeme (Melanie), Kylee-Anne and Lynmara; mother and father, Beatrice and Erwin; sister, Marj; brothers, Kirk (Ruth) and Dean (Deana), as well as numerous nephews, nieces and many, many friends. Ella was predeceased by her brother, Carmen, and her cousin and best friend, Carolyn. Ella will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Ella dedicated herself to the Regina Palliative Care program for 11 years. She and her "boss ", Velda Clark, worked diligently towards achieving their vision of the perfect palliative program. Ella worked tirelessly to develop their dream into reality. Ella has now truly walked each step of the palliative care program. She leaves a legacy not to be forgotten. Ella and her family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to Drs. Vuksic, Saleem, Tai and Clein and the fabulous staff of Palliative Care and Pasqua Hospital Wards 3A and 3B. They provided the care and support during treatments and her last days. Thank you for being such good friends during her life and such a comfort during her death. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 7:00 pm at the Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East. Paragon Funeral Services will handle all funeral arrangements. LEFEBVRE - On April 11, 2004, Jean-Louis Lefebvre, retired longtime resident of Gravelbourg, Sask. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at St. Joseph Hospital, Gravelbourg, Sask. at the age of 94 years. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption CoCathedral, Gravelbourg, Sask. with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. Funeral Service will be held from St. Andrew's United Church, Wapella, Sask., on Wednesday, April 14, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Delta Kelly officiating. SCHMIDT - Mary Magdalena passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus at Stillwaters Private Hospital on Thursday, April 08, 2004 at the age of 90. Mary was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 14, 1913. She came to Canada from the U.S.A. with her parents in December of 1913 when she was one month old. She was raised on a farm south of Handel, Saskatchewan and attended school at Gettysburg and Leipzig. Later she went on to Saskatoon and attended sewing school and became an accomplished seamstress. She married Carl W. Schmidt on October 13, 1941 in Handel, Sask. The newly wed couple then lived in Hershel, Sask., where Carl was in the hotel business with his father. Moving to the Okanagan in 1943 to Kelowna, Carl and Mary worked in the fruit industry -Mary at the Kelowna Growers Exchange packing house. Mary was a life member of the Catholic Women's League of Canada. Mary's husband was the past Grand Knight of the Kelowna Knights of Columbus, Father Pandosy council #2558 in 1949. In 1953, the opportunity came to work in Oliver, BC. Carl worked in the hardware business with Joe's Hardware and Electric and later Marshall-Wells while Mary was employed in the Haynes cooperative packing house and did sewing and alterations on the side. Besides gardening, Mary loved to play cards and formed many strong relationships in the Oliver community before returning in 1998 to Kelowna to be near her family. Predeceased by her husband Carl in 1977; brothers: John, Fritz, George, Frank and Anthony and sister Frances. Survived by; two sons: Allan Schmidt (Ulrike) of Ottawa, ON, Tom Schmidt (Christine) of Kelowna, BC, daughter Marianne Ingraham (Douglas) of Kelowna; grandchildren: Derek (Liza), Sonja, Diane, Denise, Kevin, Emily (Neal), Jessie, Derek and great grandchildren: Roman, Kailey, and Austin. Mary is also survived by her brothers: Bernard, Carl, and Paul and her sisters Margaret and Frieda; and many nieces and nephews and close friends. Prayers will be recited on Monday, April 12th at 6:00 pm at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 13th at 1:00 pm at St. Charles Garnier Parish with Father Wayne Pfliger as Celebrant. Interment to take place in the Oliver Cemetery, Oliver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna Catholic Independent School Council, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5X4.
