CHOUCHICK - Frederick, of Montmartre, SK., passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2003, after a battle with cancer, at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by his wife, Mary in 1993; brothers, Mike, Steve, James and Paul Shearl; sister, Marie Barta; brother in law, Joe Barta and sister in law, Rose Shearl. Fred is survived by his one son, Joe and wife Bev Chouchick of Regina; granddaughter, Lisa of Regina; brothers, Harry Chouchick of Montmartre and Alex Check of Vancouver, BC; sister, Anne Carmichael of Regina; sisters in law, Irene Shearl of Tisdale and Bonnie Mazur of Weyburn; nieces, Muriel Drew of Regina, Carrie Kaynka of Wakaw, Pat Wessley of Regina, Sharlen Lemberger of Kelowna, BC and Gwenda McGreger of Endeavour; nephews, Danny Shearl of Melfort and Wayne Carmichael of Calgary, AB. Fred was a very proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was the president of the Montmartre Branch for many years. Fred was also a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. He was at one time mayor of Montmartre and on Village Council. Fred enjoyed gardening in the summer and curling in the winter. Prayer Service will be held 7:30 P.M., Monday, July 28, 2003 at St. Peter and Paul Greek Catholic Church, Montmartre, SK. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at St. Peter and Paul Greek Catholic Church with Fr. Andrei Kachur officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter and Paul Greek Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred's memory, may be made to the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery

OEHLER - MARTHA FRIEDA of Last Mountain Pioneer Home, Strasbourg passed away August 9, 2003 at 96 years. Predeceased by her husband Herman and son Karl. She leaves to cherish her memory son Chris (Phyllis), daughter Bertha (Merv) Paproski, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sisters Sophie Baidak and Amanda Christie, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at 10:30 AM from St. John Lutheran Church, Strasbourg. Rev. Don Hansen officiating. Interment Crescent Road Cemetery. BELLEGARDE - Carla Irene left us suddenly on August 12, 2003 at the age of 30 years to go on her spiritual journey. Predeceased by her mother, Shirley, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bellegarde and Mr. and Mrs. Don Watcheston, brother, David and numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. She leaves to mourn her children, Bailey (Sue), Kaitlin Cree, her parents, Alvin (Rhonda), sisters, Tattianna and Theresa and brothers, Alvin Jr., Dion (Cicely), Nathan, Anthony and Austin. Also survived by her nieces and nephews as well as her special aunt Rita. The funeral service will be held in Mary Immaculate R.C Church, Peepeekisis First Nation on Friday, August 15, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. A wake will be held in the Okanese Band Hall on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

GRAY - VALIDA JEAN (Miller) was born on April 2, 1926 at Unity Hospital, Unity, Saskatchewan. She is the last remaining child of Clifford and Nina Miller. Predeceased by daughter-in-law Patricia Gray (Fraser), nephews Gerald McLean and Terrance Miller and grandson Shawn Lewchuk. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-four years William Kenneth Gray and her children: Nina (Ed) Crumley, Linda (Rick) Dietrich, Sheila (Clarence) Leier, Scott (Yvonne) Gray, Kerry Gray (Val Burke); Grandchildren: Robert Crumley, Kristopher (Merianne) and Aaron (Tobey) Dietrich, Micki (Karen Biss) and Jody Lewchuk, Wendy Gray, Lindsay, Courteney, Isaac and Nathan Gray; great-grandson Caelan Dietrich. Valida grew up in Rutland, where she completed her schooling. She spent many hours in the family general store along side her father. In 1948, she met and married Ken Gray. Family always came first, and throughout the course of their marriage they raised five children. She enjoyed many hobbies including dancing, bridge, bowling, knitting, ceramics, and many more. Her love of baking will always be remembered. She will always be remembered as a dedicated, faithful, and loving wife, mother and grandmother. A Service to Celebrate Valida's life will be held at Regina Pioneer Village, 430 Pioneer Drive, Regina on Friday, August 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the CNIB, Digital Library Campaign, 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK, S4P 3Z4 or the Outreach Program at the Regina Library, P.O.
